Hi not entirely sure sorry. I have imported it into Configure > Certificate > Import Signed Certificate as i wanted it to stop coming up with warnings about it being an untrusted site.

I had set up a byod network which was working by using a hotspot and zero IT activation. I installed a certificate and set it up so it can be accessed via the URL wifi.schoolname.sch.uk But now when the user joins the hotspot and trys to go to a website, instead of getting redirected to the login page it just loads an error. This webpage is not available. If i browse to the IP address it works but the URL isn't. I can access the zone director via the url on my mobile (using 4g) so i know the url is set up correctly in DNS. Anyone any ideas? Thanks

I set a certificate up via startssl and imported both the certificate and the intermediate cert. When users join the network it redirects them to the correct URL wifi.schoolname.sch.uk. But then doesn't load the login page. It has an external IP set up to sent users from that url to the IP of the zone director. Any ideas what this could be? iPad just says "Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost".

I want to set up a certificate to make joining our BYOD network a little easier. What is the cheapest way to do this? Can i create a self signed one or would we need to purchase one? If so what am i looking for? Also any guides on how to set it up? Cheers

Where i work we use an RM CC4.5 network. Previously all the student users are split into folders with the year they leave and then either A-I, J-M or N-Z. E.g. Next years year 7's will be 21 A-I, 21 J-M and 21 N-Z. Is this a quirk of RM or can the users be just put into an OU called Students 21 or something?

I can't believe it wasn't a rule already! Any other job if you tell a colleague to F off you get repremanded. Players set an example to kids and whether we like it or not they do mimic their behaviour. Just relies on the refs following through with it and not chickening out.

We bought into impero in April and massively regretting it! We had a few issues on the trial but were told these would all be fixed when we were upgraded to a permanent licence. Some of these issues still exist and others have appeared along the way and we just keep getting told it will be fixed in the next version. I was told when we bought the software that we didn't have to buy into the support contract each year if we didn't want to but at this rate it just wont work without it. Support takes ages to get back to us. To have owned the software an not had it fully working since buying it three months later is unacceptable if you ask me. Overall if i could get my money back i would but we paid for a perpetual licence

Argh why was this not available a couple of months back! We signed up to Impero and have had endless problems with reliability and features not working Looks like we've missed out here!

I have just updated our zone director 3000 to the latest firmware and now our wireless networks do not automatically come up with the captive portal or redirect to the guest pass screen when users join the SSID. They have to manually type in the zone director IP to get the login page. Has anyone else had this? Thanks

If anyone else has this issue we had to turn transparent proxy on, on our lightspeed filter. It is under the mobile devices section, works fine now.

The firmware update fixed it. I found a support article somewhere saying they have discontinued the check for updates button as their range is now too diverse for it to work reliably. As i was on a really old one 9.6.0.0.267 i had to do the following firmware upgrades in order for it to work. 9.6.0.0.267 > 9.8.3.0.14 > 9.9.0.0.216 > 9.12.2.0.101 This has fixed the google chrome issue for me. Now just to see what other features were added.

scratch that, found i've got to update to some previous firmwares first.

Yer tried that but i don't seem to have that option in my version of chrome. Version 51.0.2704.106 m Our firmware is out of date (9.6.0.0.267!). I have been clicking the check for updates and it says it is on the highest version but just had a look on the support for ruckus and we are really out. When i try log into our zone director using google chrome i get an error saying. Works fine in IE. IP ADDRESS uses an unsupported protocol. ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH Anyone else had this issue or know what could be causing it? It used to work so guessing an update to chrome has possible broken it.

Right i am banging my head against my desk at the moment. I am trying to simplify our BYOD network. Currently i have an SSID (BYOD-TEST) and it is Open on Authentication but i have enabled the captive portal and linked it to our AD server. I have roles set up so only the year group i have added can access and log into this SSID. This works fine. I log in as a test user and it authenticates me and i can get on the internet. I have also set up a RADIUS Accounting server in the advanced options and have that linked to my lightspeed rocket (hosted by @SchoolsBroadband). I have entered the key from our rocket into the RADIUS accounting server under AAA servers. This is where it goes a little wrong. I have it set on our rocket to show the captive portal to all devices unless reported by the user agent, RADIUS or proxy. But when i log in it doesn't ask me to authenticate against lightspeed (great) but i am not getting the right rule set applied i am getting the default filter group. It is not applying the correct lightspeed rule set to the user. Has anyone else had this issue? Cheers

I am trying to backup using backup assist from two sepearte domains. The domain the the NAS is joined to backs up servers fine but the server on the other domain will not pass the checks to find the QNAP NAS. There is a trust set up as sims is hosted on one domain and used on the other and there are file shares across the two domains. Anyone have any ideas how to get this to work? Thanks

Still not having any luck with this. I have tried the MS hotfix but it says not compatible with our system even though it says for windows server 2012 R2. We have an older QNAP box and the backups can run fine to that one with NTFS so not sure what i'm missing on this one as it appears the issue is more the NAS box. Thanks

When you say you setup iscsi and that fixed it. Do you have any guides? Trying the MS Hotfix but still waiting for the email to try. We are going to be using duplicati as an extra. Tested it with 1TB files and took about 3 days encrpted for the initial upload.

I am setting up a new QNAP server to be the data store for our backup assist software. When i am running the test backups it is saying "BA712 Destination does not support copying of NTFS attributes or user does not have sufficient privileges". The files copy over fine but don't have any of the file permissions. When i map the folder it is backing up to to my computer the format shows as NTFS. The account is a system admin account and passes all the permissions tests and has full control over the source folder and the destination. Anyone had this before? Or know anything i can do to resolve it? Cheers

We currently use a company to show our school data (Timetables, assessments, exams, behaviour, attendance and house points) on Moodle for Parents, Teachers and students. We are looking at possibly ditching moodle and going full Google Apps with sites and classroom etc. What i would like to know is what do you use for online reporting to parents? I know SIMS learning Gateway can do it but reviews of that don't seem great. Would love the system to show live data and update automatically so once it is set up it just works. At present i have to update assessment grids to get the students assessments showing. Thanks
