Yes it was a shop setup on Kivuto for our schools behalf, I didnt set up the subscription or webshop side of it, that was handled by @garethedmondson who handles all of our EES licensing with MS, I will state now that I am not sure if it had costs attached to it or not to set it up, you can PM him on here to ask him about it if needs be, I was just under the impression it was something we could ask for setup as part of being an EES Subscriber with MS - though I could be wrong on that aspect of it and will say now that I am 100% not sure about the setup of it. Just from my point of view it offers staff some excellent educational discounts on a massive range of software - Nero, Corel Corporation, MS and VMWare products feature on our website with varying discounts. The office options are for both the windows versions of 2013 Pro Plus and Office 2011 for the Mac. Edit: When its setup you can basically only buy off the site using a school email address as its point of verification and when I have helped staff with it so far, it has been exceptionally smooth and plain-sailing making purchases off there.

Had a couple of instances in my time in role of Promethean whiteboards being written on with permanent markers by invigilators to date, had to get some proper industrial standard cleaner to not knacker the surface.

Office is free under the Office365 setup you can do, but this webshop we have under EES I believe allows this :- £6.15 for a copy of 8.1 Pro Similar price for Office 2013 full installation too

If your on EES you can get that and office for about £12 if your registered and they have setup your webshop for you I think its the "Work at Home" Program iirc

I had to drive home early from a pub quiz last week, as I was actually falling asleep at 10:15pm in the pub I go too. At the moment I am going to bed around 8:30/9pm each day, as I am too tired to keep my eyes open on most nights, even a new WoW expansion hasn't perked me up at all. Then its a case of being up through the night with the boy (though the wife does the bulk of this in fairness to her) before the alarm wakes me at 5:30am - I feel like death at the moment and on countdown to breaking up for the holidays, just went through my first inspection in role too, after helping previous tech in the previous one, that seemed to make me that bit more exhausted during the build up and week of inspection.

My 840 Evo is still going strong, its the best upgrade I have put in my system in years in terms of performance, my machines to the desktop in about 12 seconds and usable, you just dont get that on 3.5" drives, even the 7200 RPM ones. Next thing is Graphics at some point next year (barring a lotto win where I go apple ret 5k and a thunderboltdisplay)

Hello Edugeekers, I wonder if anyone could care recommend to me how they handle the management of their schools photographic archives ? at present here we have a media drive which is massive totalling 470gb of file space on the NAS box their on, with at least 10 years probably closer to 15 of photographs taken from the school, from the look through I have had it seems that its houses 99% of the photographs in there are 3mb+ jpg files taken with the schools Nikon DSLR cameras. It is in need of a major cleanout to be fair and a search for some duplications as the NAS doesnt offer things like dedup, its a buffalo linkstation host at the moment, but if I can get it down to managable filesizes ideally I would want to investigate hosting the fileserver on our virtualisation platform. Is there any free mass conversion software that anyone would recommend for running to convert them down into more managable file sizes/formats. Thanks, Rich

Thats a shame, their Generic images were used quite a lot I found, they are good with Signage creation in-house.

How to install the latest Nvidia drivers on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr I have had my nvidia GTS 450 working fine on ubuntu, I have been able to play games too like WoW on WINE without any major issue.

I would say first off look for "Compatible" non-branded bulbs, if you go with manufacturers, they are always horribly priced, same with Toner's. From my experience so far I would recommend asking @Millgate for prices on their compatible bulbs, they have worked absolutely fine in our projectors to date, theres a couple of front companies for a french based supplier, which caused agro for us and failed to deliver a while back which I would avoid based on my experience of them.

I have been using adblock plus for aeons with Firefox/Chrome now blocking everything regardless, its intrusive to my browsing experience being targetted, I also tend to sky+ everything and skip through adverts. I was gutted the other day when the gmail app I had used for years started having a "Promoted" ad at the top of my promotions page when sorting mail, I switched to another mail program on the iphone moments later. Mobile phones now are infuriating too because you can't switch that c*** off on them.

Most SSDs come with data migration tools nowadays to get it over, no need of clonezilla. Though I did a fresh install onto mine when I got my SSD. Mine is a Samsung, so I get to use Samsung Magician to optimise my disk as well, I have a feeling others may well have their own respective optimisation tools.

I am 99 now, tonight I will ding 100 all going well. Playing horde on Frostwhisper, its been an excellent expansion to play through, nice to see Draenor before the shattering. It doesnt have the epicness of LK, but its the best expansion to be released since there. Garrisons are ok so far, bit miffed having to do 15 minutes of "Admin" logging on, wish there was an auto assign option for missions. I am not missing flying strangely enough and also loving being able to fight on Wolf in Nagrand, that badly needed adding into the game I think. As the 5 days, I dont think thats sufficient compensation, its pretty meaningless if your an active subscriber to add on 5 days to a recurring subscription, personally I think it should have been a free month or some in game compensation, like 1500 Garrison resources.

I felt a bit "Meh" at the end of it, same disappointing stuff, build an episode up and then smash to a silly ending in the last 15 minutes, Master's death was a complete anti-climax.

I use the Google Chrome Remote Desktop app to access my PC at home, its free and works very well, I used to use logmein before they went pay full time.

I started to use Onenote as a departmental documentation platform a while back and keep adding to it as you go along when time permits, I prefer it to Evernote having played with both, it just integrates and shares very well by comparison with the diff platforms notably onedrive and web editing make it workable on my chromebook when I want to plug away at home with it.

I hope its decent too, I like Capaldi as a Doc hes fantastic and darker. I only want them now to stop focusing so much on the assistants

Well said there, their way around it is to lock us in with a lot of this stuff.

It ran fine on Ubuntu for me about 6 months back, I didnt fiddle with WINE directly though, I used the "Playonlinux" program to configure it, only had one issue which was Alt-Tabbing - it caused issues with targetting back then for me if I alt tabbed. There have been some free week giveaways recently, to try and entice people back into the Expansion also, though I think in majority of cases your better off logging into Battle.Net there than trust an email, I think the offers and free time just auto configure for the weeks they give away.
