the TMO needs to be sorted out now and quick I think, I noticed that the games are taking a long time now because of the replaying of in game incidents, the assistant referees should be enough there and citing if need be later for unpunished stuff in game, it also needs to be clarified that what a ref awards cannot be rescinded once awarded I think, if theres any doubt about tries being scored use the TMO first not after the awarding.

Not a bad start to a new season there I thought, interesting stuff.

That was the game of the tournament yesterday, without question. Fair play to Eddie Jones, he has coached them superbly and they really did a number on SA.

I am betting that the ref from yesterday will be a touch judge for the rest of the tournament, that was a nightmare game there.

I realised last night how much I hate ITV commentary and coverage compared to BBC, the adverts are a PITA and I wondered for the first 50 minutes of the game who were playing England as they were seldom mentioned (at least the BBC try and keep it quite neutral), some of the commentary bordered on ridiculous and quite funny as well, the team checking from every angle if Mike Brown got his finger tips to a ball to stop the Matawala try made me laugh at the rabid fanaticism of their support, like they were willing the fingertips onwards. England to me seemed very nervy playing it with the world watching them, defence was a bit loose at times as well, Tom Youngs was like a little cannonball going forward at the front of the pack, Mike Brown played very well, though I do think England would have won in the end of the game regardless, Fiji were flagging in the last 20 minutes that was clear (I know we are old enemy here and its a scary fortnight ahead ) I think Fiji were quite hard done by with that Referee, Manolo seemed a bit of a beast in fairness, though I think the offside call for the initial penalty try was questionable and even the commentating team couldn't highlight well why it was called that way, the ref had a proper nightmare on his world cup debut there. Fiji were awarded the Matawala try and it should have stood regardless as it was awarded first, end of, no TMO should have been called after it as it was awarded and they were getting set for the conversion, even Clive Woodward and Wilkinson agreed that much at half time it was clear when its awarded it is a try. As Wilkinson rightly said, What next, call a game and then adjust scores after the match with legal challenges after the TMO adjudication ? It wouldn't have changed the outcome in anyway just felt that they were hard done by there.

The controls to make it a bit more tamper proof seem promising to me, thats my pet beef with them, that kids can fiddle with lots of stuff on them and you get into an endless "Refresh" cycle with them.

I use spice works for the inventory and have toyed with logging of Jobs in the past for tracking of time and recording work, though in terms of helpdesk, having looked at them all I find that manage engine is a better product in terms of a helpdesk because it offered very decent AD integration, something that was fiddly or non-existent in a lot of other products.

That's the interesting thing with tipping that's been in the media of late, most of the time it doesn't pay all the people at the back end for what they do just the person who brought you the meal, i.e. the driver/waiter may not be the one who actually created your pizza/meal, that could have been two more chefs in the shop/restaurant who did that, who get nothing because their locked away in the kitchen. We have a more laidback attitude than some countries to tipping from what I read, its expected in some countries (America was one I saw).

I noticed today in Sainsbury's that they were still on XP looking at their computer in the reception/customer service area. It isn't like 7 has just come out at all here

I thought the tip was included in the high price of their pizzas myself, I don't feel guilty accordingly

look to get out of education ? I know its something that I am currently looking to do and several others have done as well. from what I am seeing and going through, for the skills you pick up as a tech, private industry pays quite a bit better than education(average here of 5k+ for roles with the skills matching), plus differing employers offer extra benefits at a sacrifice of holiday time. The "lifestyle" courier jobs have had some bad press lately there, so I would be a bit wary.

Why not look for alternative employment altogether if thats the case rather than a second job ? Second jobs usually hammer you for tax from what I remember of friends who did it.

Thanks, I will check the machine when I get a chance tomorrow and see if they match up, though I am guessing they won't from that as ours is Parallel port based. From when I spoke to the supplier last, if we had bought the cutter a year later it would have been supported up to at least windows 8

I don't think 10 is ready for that kind of deployment yet, the OS is nice and decent, looks ok, Edge isn't configurable to a happy standard, though good luck if you are going bleeding edge like that, takes some guts imo

We have a single one here on our lasercutter machine, I would be interested in finding out about that unsigned driver and if our unit is compatible, as I could bring it kicking and screaming into the x64 bit revolution then.

I can remember filling a transit van to the roof in a company I used to work for with 14" and 15" CRTs that we had piling up and taking them to a specialist rubbish dump at the time, cost a fair bit for the tonnage to dispose of them all. One guy I worked with pulled a 24" CRT out of a skip for a contractor and it worked fine in the office, though it took up half of his desk at the time. I am surprised the philips tv got in a fiesta, I barely got mine into my 306 at the time, it was a nightmare bringing it down to our house from the in-laws. The one good thing about those type of CRTs is that no one could nick them I suppose after a certain size because of the weight., as you would be looking for a burglar with slipped discs and hernias

I dont miss CRT monitors either, heavy horrible old things, my 19" one was a pain to lug about. Even better though, until about 3 years ago, we had a Maaaaasssive 32" Phillips CRT based TV, which took up a quarter of our living room in our old house, was glad to skip it in the end.

I have had issues with a Linkstation LS-QVL in the past with similar issues, it seems that they don't respond well to power issues, mine set about filling up the RAID after a power issue(it only had about 1/2 TB of backup copies on it out of 8), before I had it connected to a UPS. If the lights are looking normal on it now and you know the IP, try web browsing it, the Navi software isn't brilliant for detecting them sometimes. Though the software isn't especially helpful looking for errors.

Thats why I don't think I would go to BT again, seeing what my parents have gone through, BT don't essentially wire you to the nearest exchange in places, my parents have a much nearer exchange, but BT piggybacked them off a different exchange that they are maximum length from. Fibre isn't all its made out to be, my parents went from 1.5meg to 15 meg on their broadband when they upgraded, the cabinet for them is situated in a nearby industrial estate, so its about 0.5 km from the house by my guess at least, as the BT engineer spent 45 minutes locating it during their installation.

I will be opting out, I had all the concerns raised in that blog tbh when I read this email, from experience it takes about a week for Wales to catch up with other areas on these new techs rolling out with VM. I think I will end up turning WiFi off on my netgear cable modem and getting a standalone wifi router for my cable. I dont fancy random strangers connecting to my home equipment regardless of it being vlanned off. (I know people can connect to the SSID, but thats as far as they get and I am happy with that)

tbh they need to give them back to Marvel after that performance I thought, The Fantastic Four is a fairly weak product overall I think to adapt to a live action comic, so it wasn't an easy task, but the plot for that film was genuinely awful I felt, so very slow moving and the fact that they forgot about the bad guy made it a bit more laughably bad. I actually preferred the first two attempts to this reboot, plus I think its time for Hollywood to stop randomly rebooting series all the time now with films. Spiderman is another one that needs to come back in now as well, as Sony are rebooting that all the time just to keep the rights from what I understand with their deal. That being said I rather Andrew Garfield to Toby Maguire/Kirsten Dunst films there somewhat ironically.
