The udemy courses will go cheaper than that again usually, in the year or so since I joined, they have revolving sales constantly of various discounts, get registered on there and you will find that courses drop to £9 and below at some point, I had the 70-410 courses offering themselves as that a while back, but rather than get distracted I decided to keep the path and carry on going for my CCENT. Only thing I will say with the Chris Bryant course, he knows his stuff like Jeremy from CBTNuggets, but he speaks in a little bit of a monotone for me and I caught myself tuning out when going through it, it is excellent as supplemental material though.

We have virtualised our in-house services here some two years back now, excellent decisions, the only things we have as physical servers these days are our LEA supplied fileserver, our CCTV and MDT servers, everything else sits on our platform. So many bonuses to doing it, as others have already pointed out, the main one I think though is backup ease - VEEAM means you can restore stuff from failure to working rapidly compared to having to rebuild a server and reinstall something from scratch.

One thing to mention - Office 2016 will not work with older exchange server versions, I found that out here. If its Exchange 2007 and earlier forget it, it wont connect in to those servers, though google suggested a lot of possible fixes. (I don't control our exchange here, its an LEA thing and in the process of being upgraded by them, now they have EES in place)

That is indeed the kit I purchased, it comes with some cables, though you may need to purchase a crossover cable possibly, depending on what you are attempting in the labs (my friend was showing me some stuff whos already a CCNA) Udemy.com - the courses are "OK" from what I have been through with them, I have bought the two CCNA ones through there and I also have access to the CBTNuggets ones, the nuggets ones are better as they are not targetted at any particular book, whereas the UDEMY one seems to be targetting the work of the particular author / series of books. Amazon was excellent for the two official cisco exam books - 100-101 and 200-101 (I am sitting the two seperate exams here not the composite, its less stressful from what I understand, but only marginally)

I had a glance now, these days there are a couple of companies that sell the kit on ebay in the UK, so its all good. I bought a kit because their cheap enough and not all commands work on packet tracer (anything involving the ASICS stuff returns an error) Cisco CCNA CCNP LAB STARTER KIT 2 X 2801 + 2 X WS-C3550-24 SMI + Cables 746320976662 | eBay Thats one kit similar to the one I bought for £110 but with an extra router included. I did have to add a little bit of memory to my router to get the latest firmware on it, which was about an additional £11 for the RAM and the CF card for the unit, though mine is an 1800 series router. If you want to get good quality training CBTNuggets is excellent but can also be an expensive avenue to excellent quality training videos. Also - Udemy.com can provide stuff cheaply, dont pay anything full price on there though, they constantly have sales where prices drop to around £9/10 for a course material.

I would suggest removing the virtual switch off the box as a test, going through all the NIC settings for the ethernet port that you want to use as the virtual switch port that you want to use and checking that everything is ok on there before re-enabling the virtual switch and adding ports on there. Make sure its an external switch type as well and allow management OS to use the switch too to prevent any issues with its connectivity offhand when your testing.

What type of port is the one specified as LOM ? I googled and it seems to be a lights out management port from a quick google, if its only for remote management, you may have difficulty using it for any proper networking purposes. From my experiences with Hyper-V if its a normal ethernet port, when you create the virtual switch, it just takes over and the previous port hides away, the fact that hasn't happened may point to issues with the original network card.

If its similar to our HP MSA 2000, you can also connect to it via a USB console cable and use Putty to connect and find these out. I had to do that when we switched our ranges and had to get them an allocation on the new DHCP as it went a bit wrong, I had to console in and then reset the two management network adapters using the CLI on our unit.

Awful news, everything I have seen him in, he's been excellent, Metatron in Dogma is my favourite with Hans Gruber a close second among the many excellent roles.

get in touch with your local citizens advice bureau about it, they can advise you better on how to deal with it and will know the legalities of what is asked of you. If you owe the money, then they probably want to get you on board with a payment plan to return the cash to them from the letter, they will only go down the debt collection route if you ignore the letter and do nothing I would wager. Student loans are a little depressing (probably more so now with the massive fees they can levy, it was £3k a year when I did mine), I pay about £20 a month off my student debt and I still owe around £18k here (3 years on a degree, with 1 year that I dropped out when I was 19 on a HND)

I don't know what to make of this, the last superman film was decent enough up with Cavill until the last 25 minutes where it actually tanked the movie I thought, though I was puzzled why they rebooted it again after Superman Returns. I speak though as primarily a Marvel fan here over DC, but I do love comic book adaptations of all superhero genres. It looks decent enough this in premise, I just hope they don't do anything stupid or OTT to wreck it, like Man of Steel or go down the path of Green Lantern and make it a bit too childish.

from my understanding of it, FTTC with plus net, they provide you a bog standard BT FTTC Modem and my parents have the awful Technicolor N wireless gateway which connects to the BT modem (its a pound shop router if there was such a thing) Am I right in my summation that you can replace the wifi router with your own device as far as I can see from the config on this, as there aren't any account details or anything that I can see on the gateway, just highlights the fact that you lose a port on the device for the connection of internet, so a 4 port router becomes a 3 effectively for my parents here.

generally I will help out friends and family who ask me for help if its nothing major, on the knowledge that they are not a nightmare to deal with, if they are the type that "you fixed my PC last week, now I have 30 virus on my machine again, because they clicked an ad banner again though they think its your fault" types then I generally avoid like the plague then and will avoid getting hands on fixing stuff, because they will use it as an excuse to get you in every time from experience and it gets painful trying not to be offensive about the problems. I don't particularly like people in friends/family who just happen to have their broken stuff with them about 4 seconds after they ask me if I can look at it after not seeing me for a couple of months, that kind of presumption is quite irritating.

I know from what we were looking at in work before I went off on Paternity leave here, the forms for time off in work for courses/medical leave/appointments were being automated. We were looking at using PDFs for some forms with an option at the bottom to submit the filled in form to an email address whom the two people who deal with it then share for access to the submissions (it can be setup from what I recall when creating the form with Adobe Acrobat with a submit button sending it as email to an address you specify), @garethedmondson was looking at it more specifically than me with another member of our schools administration team and he may be able to fill you in if there was anything special, but I think it was fairly straightforward from when I was with him as he was doing it before I went off on leave. After a second viewing, Ren having a tantrum was a main choke point for me, I get the subtext that he's not fully trained and learning the dark side too from Snoke, it just took me out of the film when he had the tantrum as it was quite childish and I can see that others felt similar, I didn't feel that Adam Driver had anywhere near the gravitas that Haydn Christians Anakin had too as a person in the film (from 2/3 not phantom menace), he was a little too "Emo/Goth" in his portrayal I thought and I felt a lot of the other main characters were underused, Finn/Rey seemed to be going nowhere and just stumbled in and about the different things going on and Han appeared from nowhere to prop the film up and confirm the canon of previous goings on. The force stuff was ok, but the Rey lightsaber thing again made me think "WTF" as Ren seemed to be a lot further along the Force path and powerful than she was to just do that, considering his exploits at the beginning of the movie, though the interrogation bit was impressive where she started reading him and turned the guard after a couple of attempts, that was enjoyable. It kept referring back to previous films, which I get, but the star killer base was a bit of a cop out I felt, just a bigger death star than previous encountered and another turkey shoot remake of return of the Jedis plot, also the bit with Luke at the end was absolutely pointless too, like a drawn out cinematic ending that went nowhere and added no suspense or intrigue.

I think this system needs to be redone and made completely cross party, some questionable appointments again, no different to previous governments, this system needs to be scrutinised a lot better now, same for other things like NHS too I believe.

Thanks, I don't think channel changing will work on this one, it really is an awful wireless N based router, (I know decent wifi as I have a superhub2 now) as you can see from this picture, it doesn't even look made for WiFi going by modern router standards. I think that they will most likely need to change their router from this one, it was ok for a while, but now they are doing more on the wifi its not holding up that well at all and its penetration is awful at my mum and dads, literally you cannot get signal in places over 5 metres away going through minor brick walls with this thing.

Hello all, My parents have FTTC broadband provided by plus.net which is part of a legacy deal, they have been supplied a BT Openreach Fibre Modem and this in turn connects into the supplied but awful Technicolor TG582n modem that plus.net have given them for free under their deal. The wifi on this device is woeful to put it nicely and I have been wondering about getting it replaced with a device with AC based wifi as it has a radius of about 10 meters from the device and doesn't seem to penetrate the brick walls all too well. Is it a matter of just replacing this device with a cable type wifi router ? I assume the ethernet connection from the existing open reach modem will just plug into a new router. They have a couple of fire sticks and want to be able to stream netflix - which should be doable (they get about 15mbps now on this connection-max length from an exchange miles away when a nearer one is about 1.5 miles down the road) Can anyone recommend a router for me which does decent wifi, their internal walls are all brick and nothing strange really or unusual in the walls ? I am looking to spend no more than £50 or thereabouts if possible. Thanks, Rich

I had the conversation about the film with my friend and I told him, the fact your rationalising anything to yourself is just telling you that the film was full of gaping plot holes that they didn't take time to explain or develop (I don't mean to be offensive here either, I am a fan too and was let down by it, not blindly awed because its star wars, which seems a theme to me, its just it felt to me watching a largely thrown together unfinished film that didn't do it for me)
