I finally got to watch this the other day after the wife gave birth to our Daughter on the 17th and I finished watching it and felt very disappointed by the film, I am a fan and I had a debate with my pal how poor it was I felt, though lots of the points have been raised already, The main things that I found irritated me throughout the film, is that I felt that Ren was a genuinely awful bad guy, he played that sith like a moody, emo teen, there wasn't any depth to his character or much in the way of presence when he was on screen, the film also felt very formulaic and a tongue in cheek rehash/ripoff of star wars with scaled up problems - like the star killer base replacing the death star. It also irritated me that Rey went from a scavenger nobody to a force master outgunning a clearly more powerful warrior who could have just annihilated her in the non-existent end battle to grab the lightsaber and then defeat him, that was ridiculous in its entirety for me. I still think I prefer 1,2,3 trilogy (even more so now you can get the phantom edit cut of episode one minus Jar Jar)

I find from time to time, I wake up with my eyes still tired and find that things are a little blurry when that happens for hours, its usually much worse when I am looking at text on monitors if they are strained like that, I have a prescription for glasses when I am using monitors and I get my eyes checked regularly with a scheme we have at work which pays for examinations and contributes to the costs. I am also very hot on using wrist rests on my mouse/keyboard in the office and home as RSI is an occupational hazard as well in our line of work as we are all keyboard heavy users.

That does indeed suck looking at what happened to you there, there isn't anything worse than being messed around in interviews, I have some first hand experience in that too lately myself unfortunately and its seriously annoying bordering on depressing when the rug gets pulled like that.

You know its great when its in the DM lol, its Britains rabid "I told you so/were all going to die/everything causes cancer" go to paper. I don't know about the distraction element in all honesty, I don't teach with them, though they seem to be responded too well here from what I understand of their use and they are quite popular in their booking out for in-class research, from a management point of view though, their not great and still not able to be locked down quite enough, despite AC2 being released and improving it in some ways and making it worse in others, it still hasn't gone quite far enough.

I think it looks better than Xmen 3 and about on par with Days of Future Past, still not as enjoyable as the first one to me, Apocalypse was always one of my favourite bad guys in the series, so its going to be interesting for me. Loved the cartoon - Beyond good and evil is still on video here somewhere.

They are another excellent avenue to accompany any official trainings, I followed their ITIL course to get awareness and bought their CCNA ones, I would say though, once you sign up there, courses will drop to £8 it seems to be on a cycle, so don't purchase anything ever on full price there, it seems that you see cycles of £15/£12/£8 on there quite regularly.

In fairness you have helped with the advice there to date and good luck on your CCNP there. I know their not easy exams, though I will say that I am enjoying the challenge and its the first refreshing thing I have started in a while with IT which has peaked my interest, I find it all interesting and its a little amusing that I am in my mid 30s and suddenly deciding I want to develop a career (long term goal is CCIE by the time I am 50 so 15 years to play with there). Subnetting is where I am at the moment with the CBT Nuggets stuff and Maths work is fun ! Not ! but I am getting there , I have nearly finished it now and have about 8 lessons left and half the cisco book to get through. I aim to book my ICND1 in January when the local Pearson centre re-opens after Christmas (I dont fancy an 80 mile round trip to Cardiff for it) as my friend pointed out having a date will provide more focus to working towards it. I am ok on the mask side of this thankfully, I had a colleague in a previous job years back that took the time to explain subnetting to me, so I have some of the information I need already (i.e. I know how many devices are in what bit, its just formulating the CIDR stuff against that now and the reverse engineering of it, but its getting there.

I would indeed say to have a look at the Microsoft Virtual Academy as @garethedmondson pointed out, I have done a good amount of their courses now to date and im in several half finished units at present also. They are good building blocks to familiarise yourself with MS technology, especially the newer technologies coming out. Training is something that most days you have to look to source yourself as pointed out in other threads on edugeek at the moment, though it isnt expensive stuff. I am sorting out my CCNA at the moment, all I have outlaid so far, is 2 £30 books (1 for each exam) and a small cisco lab (£110 on ebay), the exams themselves will be £100 a time for each of them. Its just a case of cramming in studying whenever I can.

Wife is sitting in today for some Hermes stuff from Amazon, first batch came ok yesterday (my tassimo discs selection !) so I dont mind about the other stuff thats not mine lol

Thanks for this service @elsiegee40, I have stuck an application in a couple of times for jobs at a local uni, the last one of which got me an interview (thanks also in part to @witch's excellent CV help here too, another hero of the forum) I would like to add that :- IT jobs | Permanent & contract IT careers | The UK IT Jobs Board at CWJobs.co.uk is worth looking at for decent "Non-School/Educational" IT jobs, getting a CV uploaded there has worked very well for me in generating leads to date in my search for a job, several larger firms tend to use specialised HR recruiters who scan there for their role advertisments as I have found.

£500 a day is average for a company I am aware of with their contractors that a friends works for (hes not a contractor though with them) I read that and though "thats probably what manpower charge a company" but then they pay the consultant £500

It is terrifying at times how dumb people can be, I travel home late every Thursday night after going to a pub quiz with a couple of mates and have repeatedly seen a cyclist coming in the opposite direction along a very sparsely lit country road near my home around 11pm, hes got no lights on at all and usually wearing some dark clothing to make it even harder to see him.

Our new Superhub2 from VM was not delivered properly with these clowns, only it didn't arrive despite my wife waiting in all day Friday, at 6pm, we had a text off Yodel, stating that it had been left with a neighbour, as no one was in, when we checked, it had supposedly been left at a number - "Zero" on our street and signed for by a "News", so cue an Irate phonecall to them where they would have to get in touch with the driver and he would have to retrace his steps to see where he delivered our package, VM despatched another one that day, again using these clowns as delivery. Sunday evening, after returning home our elderly neighbour called me as I got out of the car and said that a neighbour from number 3 on our street (some 30 houses away), came up and tried to deliver our modem to us and left it with our neighbours instead, thank god for decent neighbours here.

If its in warranty with them or you have apple care, get it raised with Apple as faulty and they will sort it out so you ship it to them for repair / replacement free of charge (as long as its not damaged) we have three just sorted by them, which were re-certified ones that come with 1 year apple warranty.

you didnt request the awesomeness that is the Technicolour modem that Plusnet dish out to customers on fibre ? or have they gotten rid of that horror now ? my parents have that and its the cheapest nastiest router I have seen, not seen anything that bad since I was on Plusnet and they were dishing out the awful Binatone USB ADSL modems

You may need to get hold of the raid drivers for the server, Windows doesn't auto detect them, we have a g8 and I had to download the b320i raid controller drivers separately for adding in during install

My wife was unimpressed that I smashed in a litre of Jack Daniels at a Barbecue afternoon at her friends house, lucky our home was within walking distance then of her friends house and I didn't have a car needing to drive anywhere at that time for a day or two after. I was decent enough at the end of the night, I did manage to finish a few of her friends off though, including the host.
