  1. I took this photo in a pub car park this evening. I am tempted to get a red pen and make some corrections….
  2. A little bit behind here. You are still required to isolate. But if you’re a close contact you’re no longer required. They have raised the time frame from 15 minutes to 4 hours. Not that RAT tests are accurate so half the people probably don’t know they have it!
  3. Do you not have to isolate if you have COVID? Is it optional?
  4. WarGames (1983) This movie has cropped up a few times in the 8-Bit Guy videos so I thought I would watch it. I thought it was quite good. Although I wasn't keen on the end part where the computer is guessing the launch codes. I think that part wasn't actually needed.
  5. Top Gun (1986) I hadn't seen the original and my Girlfriend wants to see the new one. So I watched this whilst she was at work as prep. I thought it was ok but I don't see what the hype is. I might be disappointed with the new one.
  6. The problem with upgrading to a MacBook Pro means the device will be larger. Smaller portable devices are important for our company (we have lots of staff travelling, some including myself on very small aircraft with just a few seats and limited baggage allowance). Also on a personal level I would prefer a smaller and lighter device.
  7. Can we keep the conversation to topic please? We are taking about hardware here. I don’t want this to turn into an argument [emoji846] In regards to the RAM I have found that the Apple devices aren’t as resource hungry as Windows so maybe this offsets this? Has anyone experienced similar? Something that has just cross my mind. Here at my place every single desk is equipped with 2 monitors, a dock and a stand for the laptop to be used as well. If we went Mac we would end up downgrading everyone’s setup!
  8. The new M2 chip was announced today. But it still has limited display support! Majorly disappointed. Tempted to get a Dell XPS to replace my current MacBook.
  9. In all fairness the parking bay might not be for the facility that’s the steps lead to. It might be a neighbouring premises that has other parking / arrangements.
  10. The above linked worked a treat! Took me longer to log into my admin account than it did to confirm it's for personal use only.
  11. Another one excellent post by @Arthur !
  12. Thieves have stolen all of the motorway road signs in Yorkshire....police are actively looking for Leeds.
  13. Do your public IP addresses need to failover on the backup connection? If so you need a service that supports BGP - both primary and backup need to support this.
  14. Sorry - I thought each of your users had their own roaming profile.
  15. Microsoft could have put more thought into this error message...
  16. I haven't been using profiles for years now - since 2014. Maybe you should consider dropping them as an option?

    Windows 11

I haven’t tried it out yet. Going to pull a spare laptop out, take it home and give it a shot.
  18. I would be careful how you handle the procurement process. They have a reputation for taking legal action if you don't award them the contract. https://schoolsweek.co.uk/trust-embroiled-in-2m-contract-legal-row-amid-move-to-the-cloud/ https://schoolsweek.co.uk/software-supplier-takes-legal-action-against-second-trust/ http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/217972-disappointed-bidder-sues-mat-after-mis-tender-failure.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/225018-bromcom-again.html
  19. If you play videos on your computers it may have the knock-on effect of locking the screen when watching something.

    SCCM Help

We use IP addresses. In the past we had used AD sites but changes to that meant changing SCCM. From experience IP ranges change less frequently.
  21. Apparently I am “immune” girlfriend who I live with had it and I managed to dodge the bullet! 2 RAT test and a PCR confirmed it. She gave it to her manager - that raised a few questions!!
  22. Never mind the country - the world! I have met 2 members of this site in Australia. 1 of them I knew from here and works with a vendor and we have drinks and dinner a few times a year. The other was just a coincidence chance of meeting them.
  23. In Australia we had to pay a surcharge on Visa cards - so I used a Mastercard instead. With this announcement the surcharge has now gone.
  24. I suppose it depends on what operating systems you are using? NetConsent Might be worth looking at - https://www.netconsent.com/
