Oh. Darn it. I was kinda hoping it would be something nice and simple like that. Is your address space configured as "*" and the old 2003 send connector is disabled?

Have you got a send connector on your Hub server? (or is it just the one that still points at your old 2003 box?)

If you've got the potential for periods of non-communication between the sites, I'd probably make one of the DCs read-only.

@KK20 - You can use Forefront TMG to do this... "You can configure ISP redundancy to distribute outbound traffic between two ISP connections using failover between a primary and backup link, or load balancing and failover." Not used it myself... yet... but it's on the plan!

Hello How long has it been happening for? Have you looked at your server performance? Is anything peaking when this happens? Memory/CPU/Disk queue? Is it happening to all staff? or just some? A

Not wishing to hijack... (but I am! - apologies OP) - does anyone have any other recommendations for something similar?

Go virtual! It's great. It'll make you happier, increase your productivity and make you more attractive and fragrant* But on a more serious note, you'll get the following benefits: - it'll be easier to backup and restore (as a virtual server is just a bunch of files on a disk... and is hardware independent - so you could, if your main server went BANG, just install Hyper-V or VMware (whichever hypervisor you decide) on another box and copy the files over and hey-presto! all your servers are back up and running!) - you'll benefit from being able to take advantage of your servers resources more. - the virtual servers will not affect each other - e.g. if one service causes a BSOD (for example) it will only cause problems for that virtual server... - future hardware upgrades will be easier... for exactly the reasons stated in my first point above. Anyway... enough evangelising for one day. Ant * It may not do all of these things.

Would a Skoda Superb be in budget? I hear that they are indeed superb... Also just realised that my earlier post was rather waffley without any real point to it... I think I got distracted! But what I meant to say is that having looked at 406s, Vectras, BMWs and such... I'd still be looking at a Mondeo if I wanted a bigger comfier car. For now I'll be sticking with my MX5 and doing perms on the side though... until I need something a bit more sensible and then I'll be getting a Subaru Legacy!

I had about six mk2 mondeo lease cars: 1st one was a 2.0 Zetec petrol - which was great! 2nd one was a 2.0 Tddi Ghia X diesel... a bit tractor-y but great. Didn't like the "wood" on the steering wheel though - I found it slippery, but then maybe I just had sweaty palms! 3rd and 4th were 2.0Tdci Zetec-S diesels - both were great... but one was definitely faster because it was colorado red. 5th one was another 2.0Tdci Ghia X... which was made on a Friday afternoon and broke. A lot. Clutch went after a couple of thousand miles, it constantly stank of diesel and the turbo had issues. 6th one was a 2.2Tdci Titanium X and was my favourite! Lovely alcantara trimmed seats and just generally lovely. Quite brisk too... and economical... didn't get less than 42MPG no matter how it was driven!

The Ruckus solution, in our tests at our site, had better coverage and throughput. It also was much quicker to get up and running with no prior knowledge. Aruba had some nice features (the VPN AP for teleworkers) - but to be honest we wouldn't have used them.

I thought I was the only one! When I arrived here everything was on a 128.0.*.* address... that really confused me for a couple of days! For my summer... - Re-image all staff PCs with a Win7 and Office 2010 build. - Re-image all student PCs with an XP, Office 2003 AND 2010 build. - Re-image our macintosh OSX clients. - Exchange 2010 transition/upgrade... - Kit out new art department - Kit out new sixth form department And much much more...

Hmm... I get a twitchy eye-lid sometimes... I'm convinced it's stress related. Cutting down on caffeine did nothing for me... but taking a holiday did!
