I'll go with it being you then.

I don't either but there is an edugeeker (can't remember who) that has them who hasn't had any fail, but for the price of them they are cheap enough to have some spares.

If you want to use the standard versions with that switch you will need to use these. Ubiquiti INS-8023AF-I INSTANT Indoor Power Over Ethernet PoE Converter (802.3af/48V)

Company to sort out cabinet cabling/infrastructure?

Perhaps some fellow edugeeks in your area could donate some time over summer to help you. The way I plan for the bigger summer jobs is to do little bits of preparation over the term ready for the actual job. -

I was just curious. That sounds like a shared cabinet that I've got, the mess wasn't caused by me either and when they replaced one of their switches they could have taken the time to tidy the cabling up too Its the kinda job that I love doing though! getting stuck in and then it all looks nice and you feel very satisfied when as you get a sense of achievement. -

What exactly are you wanting to do? I can't help with Smoothwall Express but can maybe offer some help on the commercial Smoothwall. -

Server 2008r2 taking ages to give out ip address.

Run some ping and tracert's across the vlans see if there are any timeouts or high ping times. -
On Meraki AP's you can force clients onto the 5GHz band with a feature called band steering, does Ruckus have a similar feature? EDIT: I can't find any specs on a Toshiba NP300 Google returns back with NEC NP300 projectors. What type of devices are they? do they support dual band?

If it were me going off this new info, I would have to send 2 Cat5's across for redundancy or trunking and put a switch in the outside classroom inside a wall mounted cab. You can get all sorts of types of conduit if you want to further protect the external cables.
-
Telephone cables run externally from the road into buildings!
-
Well for a start external grade ethernet cable is available which will withstand the weather, rain UV etc. Cat5e External Grade UTP Cable 305mt Boxes | Comms Express Are you going to tackle this yourself or get a company in? Are you going to run 1 cable and put a switch in the classroom?

Have you checked whether there will be enough clearance between the cooler and PSU with that case? It all looks fine but Arthur is right a good PSU should last multiple upgrades so its best to invest in a good one.
-
OK no SFP+ on the front but it still does on the back and has way more flexibility than the 2530 all round. Stackable, multiple configs of 10GB, Layer 3, replaceable PSU.
-
Yeah you could run it in a mesh so it only needs power but it would need to be a good signal from the first AP. Is it not possible to run an ethernet cable to it? Unifi call this Wireless Uplink. http://wiki.ubnt.com/UniFi_FAQ#Wireless_Uplink
-
I've got 2 2920's and they have 4 1GB SFP+ ports on the front and you can have up to 4 SFP+ 10GB or 4 10GB ethernet on the back via modules.

This thread makes me sick.
-
Perhaps start your own thread for that. OTOH it your a techie it should be your passion to keep up with the latest and greatest hardware.

Pretty certain you won't see any difference between 2400MHz and 3200MHz, plus in 4 years which is my upgrade cycle you'll probably want to go DDR4 anyway as it may well be mainstream then. The kit listed will be fine for the next 4 years, just need to find the right motherboard and case, I'd recommend M-ATX as you'll be able to do SLI, 32GB memory support and have a smaller form factor.

Well I'm just speaking personally, I have a lot of hard drives. It also hasn't got many USB ports and for some reason it does have a COM port. crap onboard sound too.
