One out of 2 ain't too bad???

So we can either keep and use them - or just stick them in a post box I think we should all post this on any other (inferior) forums that we may frequent from time to time

Started watching 'The Watch' hmm not sure good for a fantasy series but then starting from such an excellent start point - why just change everything Vetinari could be female - OK - but why and if you are going to do it keep the whole point in him/her - it seems to be missing Angua the whole concept of a Werewolf has been taken back to the old European concept - no point Cheerie OMG - if you are going to be PC and make male character female - then why on Earth/Discworld would you take a Dwarf and make her a human but after that the characters (apart from His Lordship) seem to work in a separate place to TPs ideas but then it tries to invoke Him at time it seems confused still good/great as a fantasy series - but tries to be Pratchett - then tries to be different

Yup - we are watching that - very good so far - but then the cast looks good which is normally a good sign

AT the moment I am in two minds AT the beginning of the year I was contacted by a friend who tried to sort of a class reunion quite a while ago He got a response from a small number of people - mostly the 'in crowd' -but some surprising others anyway - this time several other responded - and a Zoom meeting was set up which was quite interesting and funny a general concept was set up to meet up at the Old Boys (Yup - it was one of 'those' schools) London Dinner (OK - even worse - but NO it was not Eton and no pigs were involved) but I have backed off pandemic and all that lockdown and all that and travelling to London, staying overnight, the dinner, staying over night, train back kinda a lot of money for a meet up but now - I would love to go - some amazing people to meet up with that I knew well at school - and I am proud of my career compared to them!! but the current situation - I am not sure next lockdown - or just a situation that looks bad but no lockdown despite stats Hmm - not sure sorry - just saying - if I leave it it will be too late but if I decide to go risking getting the virus is not acceptable not sure I hate this damn thing!!!! -

I suspect people are avoiding using the app and not testing when possible Hence fewer positive results - although without these things we can;t be sure about the actual situation maybe?? The important thing will be hospital admissions and deaths - those can;t be hidden but someone switching the app off! -

Mrs mikeprice wanted chips fro tea - proper ones from the chippie with gravy So I went to get them busier than normal - recently they have been mad busy with deliveries - mostly Chinese type stuff - but not many pickups and walk-ins yesterday was different - 6 people waiting plus the normal 6-8 behind the counter serving and cooking mine was the only mask!!! This idea of asking people to take personal responsibility without any threat of punishment 'might' not work as well as some people seem to expect -
Cool thing to know - thanks

Around here I haven;t heard anyone complaining abotu others wearing masks but in the chippie yesterday about half were None of the staff - but then few were before anyway If someone does shout at me my attitude would be OK - you may be right if you are I am wearing a mask for no reason and I don;t like it but IF you are wrong I could get COVID and take it home and it could kill my wife and funerals are a right pain in the 'neck' so I'll go with the mask for now -
I'm storing that for use in a future conversation with the bloke opposite

As a confirmed non golfer I make it a habit to always refer to golf ball hitting devices by a name other than the ones used by golfists

Sounds like directions from Mrs mikeprice when navigating - i.e. holding the saynav and telling me which way to go she gets left and right mixed up quite frequently which is 'confusing' although not as confusing as arriving at a roundabout and me saying "which way?????" her reply - UP on one occaision her sister was directing and she said DOWN sigh

I used to support my football team week in, week out, home and away. Then I received a banning order. Or a marriage certificate, as my wife prefers to call it.
-
The problem with some of these things is that I don;t use up enough of them - so they would end up having to be stored until a container is full. e.g. I use a Gillette blade thingy for my fancy multibladed gillette thingy about once every few months - keeping/storing them needs some thought I had a similar problem at my last house. We had a little bag for battery recycling - but I used so few batteries that it always took ages to find the damn bag when I needed it - it just got pushed to the back of a shelf over the months! however - small things like that may become possible once we have some extra space - a new shed would do that!!

Went to Tesco before - I was wondering how many people would be wearing masks Seemed like more than usual - but not as bad as I expected - the vast majority had a mask on most of the ones with no mask were younger - 2 families with masked kids and woman but unmasked Dad - presumably 'cos he's 'ard Barbers earlier - queue of 3 - I was the only one with a mask -
I wonder if the local paper there has complaints about cyclists not using the bike lanes??

I must say (OK - I don;t have to but I will) that this is the first time I have been asked to download teamviewer for ages LogMeIn was common several years ago and a couple of others I hadn't heard of but when I searched for them instead of downloading them it was clear they did the same thing

Just to check Are the speeds on wired connection - i.e. direct to the BT Hub - consistent?? If so then it must be the wifi in some way I would start by looking at possible interference - electrical stuff there was a bloke who used to wipe out a whole village when he switched his TV on Also - I am presuming that the Unifi is wired into the Hub??

The level of awareness - or lack of to be more accurate - shown there is quite horrendous!!! -
Had one yesterday from xxx at Virgin Media hmmm - well I do have broadband from them but still dubious he did have my name - which is a start So I decided to be polite and apologised but asked him to give me some evidence that he was from VM He said he could do that - e.g. he said he works in Reading as in Read (as in reading a book) followed by ing Hmmm - don;t think anyone from there would say it like that - a scam call centre in a foreign country - quite possibly! So I mentioned that he doesn;t seem to know how to pronounce the place he works - apparently that is reasonable because he only works there??? SO I asked for something else - fine - he gave me their telephone number and said I could check it on their web site seemed to think I was being unreasonable still being suspicious after this proof but when I insisted he said he could prove it beyond doubt all I had to do was Start Google Chrome then type in TeamViewer OK - now your a scammer - 100%!!! I told him I know what Teamviewer is and that it could give him access to my computer - and how would that help??? Soon after that he told me off for wasting his time when he was only trying to sort out my internet problems and hung up What gets me is why they sometime INSIST that they are really really what they say they are and are really trying to help you and carry on doing so even when you have called them out and clearly are not going to do what they want??? Mrs mikeprice wondered if they actually are told that they are REALLY working for VM (or whoever) and what they are doing is genuine??? seems possible in some cases - not so much in others

In other news There is a great open air concert around here this weekend Look up CLone Roses and STone Roses Spike Island for detail and history I was assuming it was all cancelled but no - it is all going ahead with lots of tribute acts of various bands and several DJs all properly setup It is sort of and experiment and the first totally unrestricted concert type thingy to let people go and enjoy themselves In normal time - we would go now no way sounds like a recipe for trouble and spread of the virus does sound like the Liverpool area has been the subject of several 'experiments' over the last 2 years -
