Our grandson is SEN. Anyway he has now been officially diagnosed as ASD And as a result he has been accepted into a special school quite close to their house. Had a look yesterday on the WWW and it looks amazing. Lots of wonderful features and great stuff. All he has to do now is charm the staff - which he should manage in about 2 minutes!!! (which is weird for an autistic kid - but whatever!!)

When - a long time ago - I was a teacher in secondary school, we were always reminded to keep an eye on the corridor for the first few weeks of September We often found lost Year 7's wandering and looking worried/scared/panicky/crying The main confusing factor was stairs - none of the feeder Primary school had multiple floors and - naturally - the oldest block (where I was) was numbered in a perfectly sensible manner - as long as you knew what ever room was called and where it was My room was called "Computer Room 1" - which gives very little in the way of clues The sign on the door said CR The Science labs were not much more helpful! New Staff had the same problem. In fact I had the same problem for the first few years as I normally just stayed in my room, the HODs room and the staff room!!! Oh - and some blocks also included large cupboards, toilets, and storage room in the numbering system - but didn't label them All in all the whole system couldn't have been better designed to confuse new people - whether kids or adults!

I had to have that conversation witha teacher (foreign languages) who had been sent on an energy saving course why exactly they decided to send a MFL teacher on a course to save electricity is a question I have not yet found an answer to however - the conversation was 'difficult' at least site staff have a reasonable idea of what electricity is

Apparently I had a phone call at just after 13:30 today never heard it anyway - turns out the number is very similar to my number all of the first 7 digits are the same - followed by 4 more that are different which makes it look like it could well be a real person - maybe but this happened once before and numbers can be spoofed So - I was wonder ing if anyone else has seen this it would make sense to spoof the number as $firstsevenofthenumberyouarecallin&4randomnumbers if you wanted to get people to think it was real but then if people try to ring back - they would have to have that number - so probably not anyway - anyone else seen this??

Last school I was in had AC in the IT suite - and the server room wasa room/cupboard inn one corner of that room So in hot weather I had the AC on and the server room door open. Kids couldn't get in without supervision as the IT suite door was locked. In the summer holidays this was clearly a problem as the AC would be off. If the weather got too hot I would go in and shut the sever down! This was OK as I lived around the corner and it was very unusual for teachers to go in over the summer - admin didn't use the server so they could work if they needed to. In any case I often needed to have the server shutdown over the summer as there was always some electrical work that needed doing - hence possible unexpected power loss! I was planning to get a temperature monitor set up so I could check it from home - but never got that sorted before I left.

I have just got a job in a factory making plastic Dracula's. There are only two of us on the production line. I have to make every second count. and also Sad news today. After years of medical training and hard work, a mate of mine has been struck off after one minor indiscretion. He slept with one of his patients so can no longer work in the profession. What a waste of time and effort. A genuinely nice guy, and a brilliant vet !

Mrs mikeprice's son came over this afternoon - with his partner and their kids turns out his partner (aka wifewhentheygetroundtoit) had her first jab this morning so that's another one done!

Hi all I have had Green Flag breakdown cover for a few years Over the last couple of weeks I have had 2 emails and a letter from them about changes to the policy from renewal Something about GreenFlag offering to take over the administration of my breakdown policy (errrr - isn;t that what you do anyway???) and also help by taking over the admin for my other motoring stuff very light on what on Earth this actually means On the email I can click on LET'S DO THIS which is a bad start so I tried it - to continue I have click on 'I accept' which I can only do my scrolling down a lot of smallish writing with a lot of words in it OOOOOk I can do words - I went to a school SO I read it pretty much seems to be the sort of thing very few people will actually read all business and legal type stuff plus a list of charges Anyway - to the point (yes - I know - AT LAST) anyone found out what in the name of all the Gods and the little angels this is all about????? they seem VERY keen on me agreeing to this but there does seem to be very little detail said in a lot of words which seems kinda dodgy to me I have been working in IT FAR to long to take a dodgy sales pitch at face value especially when it promises me that it will costs me nothing and give me loads - without details!!!

Seems like maybe some extra parenting is required - he seems to have missed some important points about growing up!!!

I would agree - and unless there are problems with protected trees or existing buildings - then orientation shouldn't be a problem if the site is planned with this in mind also - ground source heating should be far simpler if planned in and installed when the building is being first built - so no reasons not to do that as well!

I was hoping the last Election would be quite close and that the Green party would get enough seats to be able to have some influence And we would get some proper incentives to install Green energy But, as we know, that didn't happen If I was in charge the above ideas would be at the top of my list. I would aim for a situation where every house with a suitable roof has an incentive to install solar panels - although I think there might be problems with the distribution but all that can be worked on
