Yup - when it reaches that point they know what they are doing But at a lower level I had had suspicions that the initial person MIGHT just not realise e.g. one of the times I have let them talk for a while they asked me to go into event log clearly it showed a lot of warnings and fatals the person on the phone said this showed how bad the infection was and how important it was that I did what they said and they could sort it all out It was the next person that started talking high pressure garbage ending with instruction to run TeamViewer (or something similar) and let them log in Other people have given a suspicion in the same way - one person actually rang me back because he seemed so convinced that he could help me out of my terrible financial problems - why bother once I had called him out as a scammer????

You have nailed the point above Apart from me and the DH there was precious little IT knowledge or experience in the school They were Primary teacher and TAs - IT expertise was not a major requirement One of the major reasons for the previous Head hiring me was to help the other teachers work out how to teach ICT and Computing and to try to get stuff actually working They seriously needed to spend some money and get people in to sort it out I have little experience with Apple - and none with Chrome books but my overal knowledge of how stuff works would have got me though - that and EduGeek of course But they didn;t or - more accurately - SMT didn;t - and the DH who had some IT knowledge seemed to disappear soon after I left - dunno why basically all the normal 'IT doesn;t matter' concept actually - I'm really mad about it but have kinda suppressed it all I feel that if I had been there still then I could have made a differnence over the pandemic but I wasn't and no-one else did anything - including those whose job it was to get it sorted!!!

Just been to Tesco and met one of the teachers from my last school Due to being in a deprived area and lots of kids on FSM they got loads of iPads and Chromebooks as part of the government scheme As they no longer have an IT Tech and have 1 visit every 2 weeks from the new Academy they have been put into - they are still in their boxes piled up in a corridor never been opened As they are back in school the teachers have asked if they can be used in class Nope - too difficult can't be done sigh

Overall 'The Watch' is getting better as we progress but still sooo far below the books I know books cannot translate directly to a screen but making ot totally different but with the skeleton of the plot and the same names of characters and each character is kind of a much different version of the original all makes it a bit disrespectful as a series it is good but I feel they just wanted to change everything to make it their own so they have missed opportunities to be PC and gone overboard with making other things PC and several critical character are missing We just need Sergeant Colon and, of course, Nobbs I just feel it would have been better to include them rahter than miss them out (although what or who could be cast a Nobbs is a query????)

I changed my mobile a few months ago - from a Virgin Contract to Vodafone PAYG because it hardly ever gets used as a phone! Then Vodafone changed the way their PAYG works and also stopped using something that increased my signal indoors - which was the main reason for using them SO I swapped again to ASDA - which also uses Vodafone - but the way it works is better for me Anyway - getting to the point - since I swapped I haven;t had a single scam phone call or text Still had a few on the landline but none on the mobile - in spite of having the same number!! I was starting to wonder what was going on - after all I assume the scammer just have a list of phone numbers along with some data saying how likely it is to be answered and how likely they are to get a 'good' result so if you keep the same number then the calls should still arrive??? Anyway - this morning it turns out the Hermes have tried to deliver something - and will try again tomorrow if I pay the admin fee Huh - no chance Anyone else switched providers and noticed a change to the number of scams???

Serious question While cleaning the patio - when I was rinsing the chemicals off the flags I directed it at the drain next to the house while washing the water off a second or so later i noticed a mouse half way across the patio looking slow and very wet I was startled and moved the jet away from it OK - not the drain this mouse must have come from is about 1 foot from the way into the house via the patio doors I looked back and the mouse had moved a few foot - quite slowly for a mouse - onto the lawn I backed up to the shed to get a bucket because of I trapped the mouse in the bucket it would be safe and I would be able to think by the time I got to the shed I tirned round to get the bucket and the mouse was just gone hmm so where is it I blocked th eentrance to the drain with some pebbles - which have since been moved so I am assuming it have moved back clearly we do not want the mouse in the house any suggestion that do not involve killing it and also do not involve Mrs mikeprice finding mice in the house when it gets colder
