No not quite. Clients will get the monthly updates as before but won't get any build updates until a convenient time (which I think will be the summer).

The build updates are something to think about. As I understand it, with pro or enterprise you can defer the build updates for 12 months before it becomes unsupported for security updates. Therefore I plan a summer update to take our machines to the latest build rather than during term time.

I emailed them with a list of questions. The reply was to look at the website :/

I would say its a good idea to disable users being able get updates directly from MS anyway as there are times when you really want to stop an update getting on a machine (recent outlook updates for example).

So if we are running WSUS or SCCM then this does't apply to us.

Yeah its interesting that one. Our 8.1 machines always struggle with our Printers GPO yet Win 10 flies through it. GPO processing seems faster in general which is great.

Can you elaborate? I don't understand why having issues with 8.1 would stop you even considering 10?

I will be upgrading our suite with Win 10 when I get a chance. Only hold up is getting the Start Menu sorted but @Michael has sorted that out for us: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/163286-windows-10-start-menu-working-solution.html Its on our teacher's laptops now and working nicely. Staff have commented on the speed improvement and Classic Start Menu as real improvements.

Oh sorry misunderstanding. I thought you meant a straight install of the latest build. I was thinking of installing build 10586 on its own.

@Michael I am very surprised to hear that your installs take that long. I find that it's the quickest version yet. I'll time it next time but I'm sure it's nowhere near 45mins

I can't see the point in paying for this either. Its pretty simple right? There's a list of requirements and either they are fulfilled or they aren't.

Yeah that could be an option. Though for some reason when our last contract ran out, they didn't want to include this machine on the new contract. Not sure why but they wanted me to source something. Worth another shot though.
