  1. An old joke: "There's a bear chasing us, and you are stopping to put your trainers on...?" "I'm gunna run" "You'll never out run it" "I'll be faster than you though..."
  2. PUWER also has requirements that can be addressed in part by a proper inspection and test regime. If you DON'T PAT, you are going to have to implement a process that looks very much like it, or risk big fines and jail for senior management in the event of an electrocution.
  3. Pretty much as above. However, be careful where you get your IEC leads. The PAT monkeys passed a lead a couple years back. When I found it in a lab, it got retested with our stuff, but wouldn't pass the earth bond. Cut it open, and it was made od tinsel. NO WAY it would ever have passed a test. Referred to senior manglement who did f'k all...
  4. Just finished Vivian Shaw's "Dr Helsing" trilogy. A bit Ben Arronovich, but with a medic to the undead rather than a copper.
  5. But less work for the company given the job of rebuilding? S*rco?
  6. Mrs C is unimpressed with that idea.
  7. We have a hedgehog! Haven't seen one here for a few years, so quite pleased.
  8. Is that nest deeper than it looks? It seems that no one is home at the moment.
  9. Have we mentioned Geogeussr? https://www.geoguessr.com/
  10. That's NOT how the "Lawn Ornaments"* eat them! *© PTerry
  11. However, comparison with Japan shows:- WE FAILED.
  12. TBF... they get a hard time around here too.
  13. Classrooms are almost the least of the problems.
  14. Nope, definitely not Eton. However, it certainly throws a spanner in 'Plan A' around here. We had been aiming at bubbles in eack of the 11 boarding houses for 2 weeks (with remote learning in the house), then combining 3-4 houses to create 'super-bubbles' that would be taught in classrooms while the others continue remotely. These super bubbles would cycle through remote and class teaching. Expect yet another change imminently.
  15. The roads in the south look a lot saner today. MrsC went to Portsmouth to see a colleague, on the beach, for a socially distanced chat. Fine all morning, with people there, but all OK. Once it got to lunchtime, pissed up yoof started arriving, they left as plod were gathering.
  16. Printers Railways Miners Weavers ...
  17. OK. Have you got a van and two strong people? I'm going to be away mid next week, but other than that what suits you?
  18. Free if going to another school. Currently fitted with Dell charging system for 20 * 15" machines. I do have some more cannibalised bits to take it up to 30. You would need new locks/keys for the back as I need to hang on to the existing keys for our other cab. Lapsafe will (not free) change charging boards and connectors. Collection ONLY from Winchester, and it is f... airly heavy! I'm currently furloughed, but we can work out collecting, or maybe if you can, leave it until late August.
  19. Can we all say "Phoenix Trading"?
  20. Or c) a working tracing app that people will actually use
  21. Yeah right. We are all dim enough to buy walking boots online.
