Could you tell me which Uni? My nephew is post-grad somewhere they are claiming this is "impossible". -

Around here there's a pub that the Hants / Wilts border went between the lounge and public bars. Convenient when hours were set at county level. -

I was... and did a bit better around home!

I'm rubbish at it; but then I've never been to Ireland.

When I found that my TZ had a large gob of dust on the sensor, I bought an SLR. Not using it as much as I thought I would, due to all the fiddle of changing settings. I preferred the way film SLRs work. However, once bought, with little to loose, I took the Panasonic apart, cleaned it, reassembled (with no screws left over) and it works fine. I now use both. TZ for dropping in my pocket if out for a local walk, SLR if I want to try to be creative.

MONTHS? That stuff keeps for YEARS, and definitely improves with age.

Far fewer people about overnight so you can keep a safe distance. Not as funny as Covid sleeping, but I'd guess closer to the truth... -

Crows excepted... Why in English? I know it has become the 'Lingua Franca' for Europe, but it isn't like there are going to be many tourists about. -

I can commend the BBC "Smiley" dramatisations, available on Audible. And the early books too; the later one's are too close to the knuckle for me... -

I think he's faked his own death to get away from England. -

Nope. A terny sort of thing, but no match. Might be a seasonal plumage issue. I'll try to get a pic, but it doesn't stop still for long. -

Anyone got any clues about sea birds? Got one visiting the garden. Almost all white, thin black chinstrap, small (for a gull). Tried RSPB site but can't see it. -

The second picture in this article is DEFINITELY NOT a dormouse. New Forest dormouse on the BBC -

Not true - we have to do a minimum number of days / hours; same as any other school. How do you fancy working Saturday mornings? -

Can I commend Radio Paradise to the assembled audience? Internet only, US based (but OK), NO ADVERTS! A good mix of music, and on some devices there is a "Play Something Different" feature; invaluable when that whining git Morrissy turns up. -

We've suffered from SPs not playing nicely with ScreenBeams. Later Pros with updated chip-set allegedly are better. -
The chance of anyone around here having a mobile signal? Next to nil unless you hang out of a window, or walk up a hill. Chance of a walkie-talkie working? Pretty damned good.

Doug Scott: Everest summit mountaineer dies aged 79
Andrew_C replied to elsiegee40's topic in General Chat
With a mountaineer friend I saw him lecture in the late 70's / early 80's. Fascinating. -
I saw one parked up on the beach at Scheveningen. Fascinating things.

Based on the state of the two local Debs, they won't be rushing to retain them. "Tired" isn't really strong enough.
