Does anyone know where there is a simple and easy to understand guide to Facebook privacy and security settings? We need to produce a handout for students and parents/carers that is useful and understandable even by complete computer novices. The steps on Facebook are not very user friendly and so far we've not found anything via Google that explains it all in simple steps that we feel we can use. Many thanks.

We've put off doing the update because it's such a pain. Every time it goes wonky and when we phone up they blame us at first and then lo and behold they jigger something their end and it all mysteriously works again. I would be happy if we never used this software again. In fact atm I would be happy not to be working with computers and instead gutting fish in a fish processing plant in Sunderland.

We got caught out this week by a laptop that had successively escaped being wiped for a number of years and just had a generic image pushed on to it at the end of last year. Usual story - not enough laptops to go round, people demanding one at a minute's notice - so this particular machine fell under the radar. It was looked at and wiped the other week but a subsequent deep scan has shown that in the past somebody was a bit naughty possibly and their deleted browsing history isn't very pretty although it could have been a virus or a Google search gone wrong as the deleted cached images we saw were just thumbnails and the graphics that make up websites. It's all under investigation now but we don't think we'll ever know what happened as this machine has been used by everybody and their dog and has been taken off-site on numerous occasions by various people. We are rather concerned as this machine was wiped using DBan and also the wipe free space feature in CCleaner, and there was apparently still deleted data recoverable. What drive wiping software / free space wiping software do you use / recommend? It's got me all paranoid now as I always assumed we were purging everything for good.

We're running Open Office 3.3 and I've followed the instructions here for stopping the registration wizard for all users: Deactivating the OpenOffice.org Registration Wizard - OpenOffice.org Wiki But each new person logging on to the PCs gets the registration wizard! When you check in Tools / Extension Manager the DisableFirstStartWzd.oxt is there...! I'm baffled. Any suggestions? Is there an alternative way of stopping the registration wizard popping up in everyone's faces?
