I purchased a chainsaw from Amazon (crazy I know - me with a chainsaw) only to find the instruction 'booklet' was a photocopied two-page confused set of manglish instructions. Not good when you are trying to assemble the blasted thing! I was "exhorted to the given safety procedures follow!" - none of which were listed but which I assume were mainly that I try not cut my own legs off with the thing.

Failing that, it could be that the pick-up roller is worn - you can usually get a replacement from various websites for less than a tenner.

Only visually. The other thing is that it might be the tray not feeding the paper up correctly - do you have another 4100 or similar that you can swap the tray from?

Check that there wasn't a previous paper jam and they tore the paper getting it out - there might be a sliver of torn paper still in the roller transport mechanism that is causing the paper to jam.
