  1. We have a lot of staff who are creatures of habit. We missed it off an image once and they threatened to go outside and set fire to themselves in the playground.
  2. I know, I know. It's to stop the whingeing from newbie teachers. I'll do anything these days for a quiet life.
  3. We tend to include as part of our image the following: Adobe Reader Adobe Flash Adobe Shockwave Java ITunes Apple QuickTime RealPlayer
  4. As well as the usual booze, socks, jumpers and chocolates, I got one of these....
  5. Whingeing, moi?!
  6. 3 at work - 2 as personal PCs with Windows 7 for me and the other IT guy, the third with Windows 2008 as a RD box. 5 at home - for messing about with, streaming, etc.
  7. Spend a day visiting with a whingeing, moaning elderly relative. That always wears me out!
  8. There's been a few interesting bits and bobs listed on hotukdeals under the computers section but nothing really exciting
  9. No, it was the sprouts!
  10. It's been some time since I had a need to rip a DVD. One of my holiday jobs is to start sticking some 200 DVDs on to my home server for streaming. I've used HandBrake in the past (quite a few years ago) and it either can't do it or pixelates everything. VLC takes an age to do each film. How do you do it? Thanks!
  11. It looks like we're going to get another battering New Year's Day - I hate the wind.
  12. Some amazing images here: BBC News - In pictures: Best space images of 2013
  13. We have a drive with a 12' section of wall on the left as you look at our house from the pavement. This wall forms the boundary for the rear gardens of the two houses that are around the corner from us. Who's responsible for it? We always assumed it was theirs? The confusion arises because of this: "Common beliefs about ownership of boundary features There is no legal foundation for the belief that boundary features on the right (or on the left) as you look at the property from the front are automatically owned by the owner of the property. Nor is it the case that the post and rails of a fence are necessarily on the owner’s side". Taken from: http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/public/boundaries#beliefs I phoned up the local planning department once to try and establish who was responsible and they didn't know! And our deeds don't show any 'T' marks at all!
  14. Brilliant! I just saw this on the BBC site - BBC News - Internet Archive puts classic 70s and 80s games online
  15. I haven't watched anything on TV this year. The same as last year and the years before that. We stock up on DVDs and work our way through them. So at least we get to watch what we want that way.
  16. Soaps? I'm confused. I thought we were talking about food?

  20. Koalas can be nasty - I had one hump my leg when I was over there. I think it thought I was a tree (I was young and skinny then).
  21. I'm a staunch JD man but lately I've been hitting on this: Bushmills
  22. Now that I'm diagnosed Gluten Intolerant I'm stuffed - no Yorkshire Puds or gravy
  23. Isn't the entry price $1000? Or did I imagine that?
  24. Two words - I WANT!
  25. These are a pita to work on - we had a paper jam that involved taking one apart. We used Hewlett-Packard LaserJet Pro CP1525 - Color Printer Service Manual (Page 2 of 192) to work out how to do it - around page 30 it starts getting useful!
