  3. Most men my age - 50 this November - hanker after something a bit sad and go for a sports car to make up for the receding hairline and the increase in girth around the waist. Not me, I've always wanted a van. Something I can throw all my walking gear / bike / kayak in to the back off and get away from the sh!tfest that is edu IT. Anyway, I have said van - a brand new Peugeot Partner 1.6 diesel jobbie purchased in 2012 to also pull the small caravan we have. Great purchase and we have had many enjoyable outings in it since. However, since ownership commenced in 2012 we have only done around 7k in it. We try to use it most weeks, but we've found the infrequent usage has knackered the battery. New battery purchased and we're happy vanners again. I was wondering if it's worth getting one of these to solve the issue: http://www.amazon.co.uk/AA-Car-Battery-Solar-Charger/dp/B00AC1LLQY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386278008&sr=8-1&keywords=aa+solar Help and advice much appreciated! Please note that if I'm sounding a bit more chipper as of late considering my recent posts then don't worry its because I've had the best part of half a bottle of JD! Cheers!

  9. Is that a poisoned link?
  10. That's not footage from a cricket game, there. It's actual footage from the first Ashes Series......
  11. RIP Bodie. The Professionals was a great TV series for its time.
  12. Whoop, bring it on! Any vacancies anywhere to teach ICT? At least I'd know something about what I was teaching the students

    iPad Mini

Isn't Tesco oos atm? Check out hotukdeals.com - offers get listed on there pretty quick.
  14. I have a hearing disorder - which even adults find hard to understand when I explain it to them as it isn't deafness - as most of them perceive it to be. I have APD - the problem is with the way my brain processes (or doesn't ) certain sounds - so I try and avoid letting the students know as I have had snarky remarks in the past. The best advice is to ignore it. But report anything really horrible. I can lip-read from fifty paces so it can be very useful! I can also use it as a disability to my advantage sometimes as it allows me to legitimately ignore nagging, etc.
  15. D'oh the moment I finish typing a member of staff breezes in and collects it - put it down in the café and forgot it last Friday.....how do you forget something like that?!
  16. We've got an iPad Mini in reception and no-one has claimed it yet - unbelievable. Passcode protected but we'll easily get around that when the call comes to find out who it belongs to.
  17. Ditto - very good company - will 'bolt' us on to a pickup if local enough when we haven't quite got enough stuff as well.
  18. ROFL - cut and paste job gone wrong!
  19. I agree - for a long time now gaming has been seriously ignored as a topic for tv coverage in any depth. Other countries have primetime programming devoted to gaming / it / tech. What do we have - Click and the Gadget Show - both which can be highly superficial and annoying. All I can say is thank heavens for YouTube - I get to watch quite a few quality shows from the USA and other countries - there's some great programs out there.
  20. Leary Cellophane Jeans is a dufus. He knows nowt when it comes to the subject he's supposed to be reporting on - a trait many BBC 'journalists' seem to share. If you want to see a bigger BBC plonker in action then check out Marc Chickensh!t's piece on this week's Click programme about the Xbox One: BBC iPlayer - Click: 23/11/2013
  21. We're in the Midlands - darkest Warwickshire.
  22. Is anyone on here providing IT work experience - particularly for uni students? Our HT thinks it would be a good idea as everyone benefits. We're snowed under atm and an extra body would ease the pressure, and they'd get invaluable work experience as a reward. Even just half a day a week would be beneficial. Do you think any of our local unis would be interested if we approached them? Obviously, they'd need to be CRB'd etc.
  23. And some glass hammers.
  24. You had a gin and tonic student? Amazing!
