Well, I've had a beard since the earlier eighties and all I do is shampoo it when I have a shower and clear the birds-nests out once in a while. No need to buy any girlieish rubbish to look after it. Man up, people!

I know and this auction is just down the road from me. Quite fancy bidding on some of the wheels lots to turn them in to glass-topped tables...

Jet Set Willy.... (goes all misty-eyed)

And do you know what I think was the most underrated game ever - Bioforge? Brilliant game. I had to upgrade my then PC to 8MB RAM to play it.

There weren't enough classic games in there for me like Elite, Wolfenstein, Doom, Monkey Island, Alone in the Dark, etc. That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it. It was the footy games I barfed on. Hate football - it's bad enough in real life let alone realised as a computer game

It's gone orf to be looked at by t'experts...

Computer gaming quiz on the Beeb: Quiz: Gaming nerd or newbie? - BBC Newsbeat How good / bad are you? I only got 9 right - pant$.... Embarrasing, as I guess the quiz is aimed at ankle-biters...

Yes, it was a 2.5" jobbie - literally booted by accident across the room. We took it out of the enclosure but no joy in any of our caddies. It's dead dead. Thank you for all your suggestions.

***BUMP*** We've had this happen to two PCs this week that were built in August. Does anyone know of the cause of this as it's going to be a pita to rebuild each time it happens.

Who do you use for data recovery - a member of staff has just managed to boot their personal HDD across the room and now it's completely dead dead - not just dead. It's a 320GB jobbie and was nearly full (I'm trying not to laugh here) and they hadn't backed it up.... ....ever. Recomendations on who to use gratefully accepted.

[sims] CAPITA pull Autumn 2014 Release - Why???!!!
tech_guy replied to tech_guy's topic in MIS Systems
I'm confused by what's going on with this. We had a shufty in Solus - and there were some updates there from October that we hadn't been notified about via email as well as the November ones that have now been pulled - when we checked last week. Now, we've got this: Confused. Time to phone support. -
Hold fire on your planned Autumn 2014 Sims.NET / FMS upgrades! I have just got the "Please note that we have withdrawn the Autumn release from both SOLUS 2 and SOLUS 3 for both SIMS and FMS. We will be issuing SIMS 2014 Autumn 2 shortly and will advise you when this is available. If you have already upgraded there is nothing further for you to do at this stage but we will provide information on the changes in the new release and advise on next steps" email to say the Autumn release has been pulled. Any idea why? Glad I hadn't done mine yet.

Yes, I have been getting the invoices as well and it looks like a healthcare company down in London has had their mail server compromised. The interesting thing for me is that they are all emails being sent to a domain I have registered/hosted with Fasthosts and the email addresses used are all 'throwaway' ones I have used over the years. I wonder if this goes back to the Fasthosts data breach?

Okay, so I'm showing my age here - I purchased the original single 30 years ago and went to the Live Aid concert at Wembley in July 1985.... At least I don't look as weathered as Bob does: Anyway, new song, all for a good cause etc, and it's going to be premiered on X factor: BBC News - Band Aid 30 to premiere on X Factor I had a go writing my own version but I'm stuggling to find words that rhyme with ebola, simon cowell and royalties. Any meaningful suggestions?

Hi Hardeep_Sco, did you have to log a call with the helpdesk to get this sorted? How long did it take?

You lot probably haven't missed me but after a lengthy absence from this wonderful community I have returned, and no, contrary to rumours circulating, being detained at her majesty's pleasure was not the reason behind my absenteeism... What have I been missing?
