!! I just fixed my issue by uninstalling sophos lol Now I need to figure out exclusions on sophos central website. I suggest you do the same.. I am not sure which folders sims needs excluded ... workstations and server On mine I will be excluding the SQL folder on the server simsroot on server c:\ program files \ sims on clients I think Each to their own setup. You'll need to exclude the FMS folder too! sophos central should be simple enough. snowman

Had chaos here with fresh installs of sims on Server 2025. I fear sims support might just blame the OS as it is not on their list of supported server operating sytems. Server seems to hang on parts of simsinst and also crash when doing the migration "install server applications" not related to your issues right? 5nowman

How does it work on the server? fast? We've had issues installing sims on server 2025. What Server os are you using? I am about to start throwing exclusion of folders and files on our Antivirus to see if that helps. As a worst case.. maybe uninstall AV to test it...... (this is what I am about to try).

We are having a crazy time with sims migration to server 2025 even a plain install - running simsinst.exe does the files and then just hangs at the end migration of the database - stuck on "install server application" have any of you had this issue? Very VERY odd. logged in as domain admin, shares have full permission. tried run as administrator Any ideas? 5nowman

Get a machine with the image. put it in an OU with no group policies and see how long "First Logon" takes... it could be a policy.

I am going to treat this as gospel. Will education set any apps as auto blocked to start with? I will not be setting anything app locker to start.. will be building it as we go along. Are there ANY downsides to using education.. I will be using it in collaboration with windows 2025. WE currrently have Windows 10 LTSC and Server 2019 which is working...

Quick question on kinda this.... Is app locker the only difference between windows 11 pro and education? We are pushing windows 11 pro ... but I am seriously considering windows 11 education. Do drivers, smart or promethean totally work? Microsoft app store work?

Personally.. and depending on what kinda school this is for.. you need to bounce this back and find out what they want to teach on it... what apps etc and then based on that decide what is the best device.

When are you running these? through a startup script on group policy? or base image before capturing it?

Hello! ok things to try. when it creates app password.. it is 16 characters with spaces right? try with spaces try without spaces one of those should work less secure devices... avoid. Google will switch it off at some point if not already off. There are options to switch it back on... I would not recommend it. I have had issues too. Hope that the google login page loads up in outlook... if that does it is also a good sign. 5nowman

Hello! Hope you are all well. Going mad here. We want to get chromebooks but get google to manage them. I understand we need a license per device as we already have chromebooks but for the life of my I cannot find any suppliers - or they seem to be very expensive. During the pandemic licenses were like £5 !! This way you can enrol the devices onto google education workspace. Any ideas on suppliers? LGfL don't do the licenses anymore.. the had the bridge offfer back in the day! Please let me know. Thanks in advance 5nowman

Hi Sean, Slightly.. a crazy idea! Are you going to connect the chromebooks using hdmi? We use a desktop pc to projector. However we use airserver software to mirror ipads to the pc which they goes onto the board. apparently with airserver and chromebooks... you can cast chrome tabs across to airserver! Not tried this yet. Airserver can be downloaded with a 30 day trial.. give it a go? Hope this helps 5nowman

I get ticked off licensing office on machines, windows 11 licenses and activation if you have an OVS agreement.. free space on the server. ability to create to create a virtual machine in hyper V.. create a windows 11 machine and follow the steps to make it a VAMT. you can enter the key for office and windows in this app search for all machines in active directly. with 1 button it can push windows 11 key to all the machines with another button.. it can active them all! and give results on any failures. with 1 button push office key with button 2 it can activate. VAMT is microsoft too!

Had papercut for 2 years now. Biggest problem was when google changed their oauth authentication. I had to figure out how and where to change it on papercut to accept "APP Password" on the account it uses to scan to email. Also.. if AD users do not have email address in their AD object then the email field in papercut is blank and they cannot scan to email. I hope that helps? Let us know exactly what happened? / fixes as it might help others. We are in the middle of a papercut migration to a new DC... this is going to be a pain
