  1. We have sorted it Thank-you. If you extract the files of the MSI to a folder and place the license file in there, it works fine so we will do that as part of our new image then just hide the folder and show a shortcut. Bit of a work around but i dont mind that, cheers!
  2. Morning all, Heres a screen shot of the files on our file server, msi is deployed via GPO, its still asking for the license file location when logged on as a user. Any ideas?
  3. Thank-you, will try this on Monday and report back. If you place those 3 files in the MSI location, will it automatically install the license file? Regards
  4. Thank-you. We placed the license file in the root 2d design folder and its still not working for student accounts.
  5. Thanks guys! Sorry i didn't explain that too well. If you logon as an admin or staff member, you can install the license file, however it doesn't work when logged on as a student account, it asks for the file again then comes up with an error. I will put the license file in the root 2d design folder and try again tomorrow.
  6. Sorry to dig this back up.... We can install the license file fine as admin or staff members, but you cant install the license file as a student due to restrictions on the accounts. I have lifted the lockdown policy, installed the license file, reapplied restrictions to account and its asking for the license file again...any ideas? I ideally we want v2 on our WDS image we are currently building pre licensed as we have a site license
  7. WDS...Just realised with R2 you can inject drivers into the boot image so just going to try that method instead and will report back
  8. Ok so once the image was deployed, all the permissions were screwed up on the windows folder and i couldnt install anything. Any ideas how to inject the drivers without having the ownership of files and folders?
  9. All sorted, folders were owned by 'TrustedSoftware' user, took ownership and replacing child permissions and it successfully injected. I just hope that wont screw up folder permissions on the image itself once deployed
  10. That is correct, however i was doing it through a snap-in on a server 2008 box and it wasn't updating the settings on the server which is running Server 2012
  11. Ok thank-you. Very strange indeed. I too have not come across this problem before in my 8 years experience
  12. Ok thank-you i will check that. Could it be that the wim once mounted is read only somehow?
  13. I have indeed turned UAC off and i am elevating the deployment tools command prompt I cant seem to be able to delete the mounted wim either, lots of access denied errors...
  14. Good Morning, I have mounted an image and wish to inject a tgraphics driver into the image. Everytime i try cand run the comman below, it comes up with 'Error 5 - Access Denied' any ideas? dism /image:"C:\Temp\Mount" /add-driver /driver:"C:\Temp\Drivers\graphics\Graphics\ics64.inf" I used this command to mount: Dism.exe /mount-wim /wimfile:C:\temp\CUSTOMBOOT.wim /index:1 /mountdir:C:\temp\mount I am an administrator with full admin rights.

  16. Hi Guys, I have built a new Server 2012 box with SQL2012 with the intention of making a new anti-virus server and managing it through Sophos Enterprise Console. When i try to install Sophos Enterprise Console, it fails to install and says 'A custom Action Failed' I have tried installing it on another new server and same error. Any ideas?
  17. Thank-you. Just taken over at a new school and playing catchup I might delay the restart until another time as backup has been playing up a bit too
  18. Hi Guys, Quick question, i have 150 windows updates waiting to be installed on each of my two Hyper-v hosts (Server 2008 R2), however i don't want to just restart them without making sure I'm doing things right. I'm fairly new to Hyper-v as i have been using VMWare in my previous position. There isn't enough memory on either host to live migrate machines across the cluster to avoid down time (something i intend on fixing soon) Is it safe to just restart the hosts one by one when no-one is using the system? Do i need to shut down the VM's manually before restarting the host? Many thanks and happy halloween!
  19. Thank-you. Ours is actually a hardware appliance I believe, its not running on a virtual server. We have one of these in the server room:
  20. Hi Guys, The school i have just moved to run their own proxy which is Sophos Web Appliance. Since i have been there we have had several issues with the internet. Sometimes it randomly blocks EVERYTHING for everyone, then reverts back to normal about 20mins later. Just recently internet has been very slow then grinds to a halt and again if you leave it half an hour, its all good again. Any ideas where to start? Many thanks in advance
  21. Hi Guys Just to let you know i found the problem! I was using a Server 2008 box for the DHCP snap in and i realised its linking to a different DC. I logged onto the DC that has DHCP which is a 2012 box, made the changes in there and its now working! Must have been because the snap in was not making changes on the DC hosting DHCP. Tested 3 machines on different VLAN's and all picking it up now although we are yet to test an actual build
  22. No problem. I have set the options on the server options and its still saying the same error. When it does work this is the screen: I will screenshot a machine that does not and will report back
  23. Nope Hyper-v unfortunately. I have found the problem, there's a server 2003 box which has exchange on it and its got no disk space on C , literally totally empty. Its only got a 20GB C drive. I have deleted 250mb worth of data (that's all i could find to remove) and now its working. It must be a hub transport or edge server i guess. Going to take it offline tonight and increase the disk space on C for that server to stop it happening again. (I have just taken over as network manager in a new school which is why i didn't know about it before) Thanks for your help though. Rep coming your way Hopefully its just a case of taking the server offline, extending the VHD and then booting back up and extending the volume. Now to fix the other OWA issue which is that it doesn't work in IE unless in compatibility mode.
  24. Same error from home. It says Exception message: There is not enough space on the disk. half way down the error log.
  25. Hi Guys, All of a sudden Exchange OWA 2007 is refusing to send attachments and displays the following error: Anything under 100kb seems to attach successfully. Theres plenty of free disk space on all partitions on the exchange server. Any ideas?
