I have indeed. I followed your video on YouTube Yep its IIS 8 and Server 2012 R2 I think it was an issue with the Web.config not being recognised but now I just get 'Page cannot be displayed'

Yes indeed it turned out to be an issue with sharepoint and Microsoft fixed it the next day

Hi All, Office 365 was setup and working fine but today i have tried logging a few users in for the first time and all we get are these error messages when trying to launch apps or OneDrive for business. Any ideas? I'm supposed to be running a training session tomorrow and will look like a wally if it fails!

Good Afternoon all, In OneDrive for Business, can you share / distribute a copy of a file? For example, we want to share a word document with students and get them to fill it in on their own copy. Not to edit the original file. The only way I can see so far is to either share with all and get them to make a copy themselves or make lots of copies of the same file and put them in their own folder and share only with the pupil you want to be able to edit. OWA on exchange uses myschool.net domain not school.sch.uk so I don't think it is possible. I think local authority might host the .sch.uk address for us though so will ask them

Hi all, As part of our EES, we have been given Office 365 ProPlus logins for students and staff. At the moment when I create a new user in the portal, the email address is [email protected] Is there any way I can get it to use my domain name*school.sch.uk instead as people are complaining of having to remember the different email address! I don't want to move email or any other service over to Office 365, we just want to use it for OneDrive and creating documents on BYOD. Regards

Indeed its not a huge issue being able to read C:\ as my permissions are correct, but I'd prefer they had no access at all so this GPO has tidied things up a little.

Sorry to bring this one back up but I'm having the same issue at the moment. I have hidden C:\ from student accounts but they can still make a shortcut to C:\ and then see everything. Of course they only have read permissions BUT ABTutor stores screenshots taken by administrators on the local HDD so they can see when we are monitoring them! I have tried blocking .Ink in file in FSM on the file server but it doesn't work for .ink files....

Strange....its letting me download Word now but when I launch on my Hudl 2 it says 'This device uses a processor that doesn't meet the system requirements for installing office and closes immediately.

Computer Configuration > Windows settings > Security settings > File System select new and point to c:\windows\system32\Utilman.exe Change permissions on USERS, SYSTEM and Administrator to DENY. Apply GPO and reboot PC's. The button is still visible but doesn't do anything when clicked.

Well we never use safe mode or setup repair...it's quicker to image the machine as a rule so I just disabled it. I believe one way of gaining access to perform this 'hack' is by entering setup repair. I have also disabled the accessibility options button on the logon screen. No doubt they will still find a way round it all

Registry hack I think. That plus I disabled f8 boot menu and locked down BIOS to disable boot from all external media

Hi all, I want to add a folder to the 'All Programs' list for all staff (containing internal systems shortcuts) without redirecting their entire start menu. Is this possible through GPO?

I use AirServer too but the iPad and the PC have to be on the same VLAN for it to work which often isn't the case. Not a problem in my school due to our AeroHive wireless having a built in Bonjour gateway which ties it all together nicely. Also you can't control the PC on the IPAD with airserver, it just mirrors the Ipad screen to the PC so not really what your after here. GoToMyPC, TeamViewer...all of those will control the PC but all a bit fiddly and a bit pointless in my view. The second you try and turn an iPad into a Windows PC / laptop is the day your hair will turn grey and your budget will run out!

It sounds great! Especially as we are going BYOD and more people are accessing tablets and apple devices these days! So its a RDP viewer like mstsc.exe or RDP app for ipad? Was it easy to setup? It will be a virtual server on HYPER-V. I got a quote for a new remote desktop solution with server 2012 and remoteapps and the company wanted around £2500 just to install it. Also they said I needed to build 3 servers and install the different roles on different servers. They also mentioned 30GB+ for each VM which simply isn't do-able. I only want around 10 concurrent connections too as we are a fairly small school (only 80 staff) Would love RemoteApps but don't really know how hard it is to setup. Not something I have done before. Just checked, it is listening on port 3389

I 'inherited' it when I started at my current school just before last Christmas but yes I believe that's how its setup. I was just thinking of building a reasonably spec'd 2008 R2 box to do a direct replacement. Thinking if I keep the same IP, I shouldn't have to touch anything as the external IP should just point to the new box on the same IP. Staff type in server.myschool.com into RDP and it connects straight in. Guessing if IP is same, the same credentials should still work? Not heard of RemoteSpark...is it any good? Expensive? I could try and get my staff used to 2012...I guess one day they will have to!
