Heavy Duty Visquene on a roll for us is what we have used and its been fine for years but the last year we have not bothered as it is easier to just re-polish the floor now a days.

On both DNS Servers set the forwarders as your chosen external DNS Servers (so you have said Google's) and that way when your clients (ensure DHCP is giving both IPs for your two DNS Servers out to clients) then they will both work fine. Leave the roothints alone they will be fine as they are so no need to touch them. Yes once they are set external stuff should resolve fine in theory DNS console has to quick tests in it as well you can do on Internal and External.

In DNS the Forwarders should be your ISP's DNS Servers (or Google / Open DNS as appropriate). General Client PCs should have DNS of the Internal DNS Servers mentioned above but not the external ones.

Lenovo used to make some baby laptops which fitted that gap but they were twice the price of what we used to pay for Netbooks.

Didn't some Primary Edu software come with the font built into it though so it could be reading through or did I dream that (it could be old software I am talking back to Win 98 PC days....)

Where I worked they have just changed the policy for this year but it was crazy everything was from one firm as even the trousers had a logo all you could get from say Asda was the shirts! It was blazers, Jumper, Trousers / Skirt all logo'd such an expense for parents. That has changed this year so you can do Trousers and Shirts from Asda etc.. but blazer, jumper and tie are from the local shops that partner to sell it as it was costing too much to run and store in-house.

Anything with Windows on will run it, the server with the files on would give best performance so its not pulling shizzle over the LAN. Id10t guide on here yep, you will need Port 443 punching though the firewall to you though so that will be one for Brummy land to sort but simple and easy to do

I agree on savings, but as can be seen on this forum AV software can go from its cheap and works but not great to trashing PCs in one version (glares at Sophos from a few years ago where it ran on anything to needing stupid volumes of RAM) if that happened your stuck for up to 3 years so in my mind its a risk as they will stop you using the older version its not like a 3 year EA from Microsoft where fine Win 8 wasn't great (or maybe you liked it?!) but you could ignore and the world didn't end too badly as you could skip a version but that may not be possible with the AV. But I do know what you mean on budget concerns and a 3 year deal that offers a good reduction is worth looking at.

That path you re-direct to does it exist? I did something similar and it was a 2 stage process, firstly do it as this and apply the change to AD: Connect W: To \\STORAGE\pupils$\year\username Give it 30 seconds to sort itself out and then change the path to Connect W: To \\STORAGE\pupils$\year\username\documents That seemed to solve issues as it didn't like going to the documents subfolder for some reason and as you can do that as a bulk change I never worried about why that was.

Also fed up of Orange / EE here, signal is naff i can watch my phone have 3G+ down to no signal whilst sitting on my desk in-front of me, took me 40 minutes to get it to not drop a call to Voicemail the other day, cannot access data most of the time its a joke. They told me its due to excess 2G masts in my area -_- well that's nice but doesn't help me. When I broke down on the edge of the M4 the other week it took 4 goes to call the RAC off my phone as it was dropping calls all the time so I had to resort to my work Blackberry on O2 which worked perfectly thank god for a Blackberry (Never imagined I'd be saying that!!) Needless to say I will be getting very shouty at Orange / EE as I'm paying for a phone I cannot use and they cannot really say its a rural area issue as I'm in London! Yet it was just as bad in Rural Yorkshire where Orange / EE are the only firm with Signal

Yep the clients should have only the IPs of your Internal DNS Servers and never the external ones.

Those phones won't run on Avaya nope they need IP Office handsets for it. The Lync handsets are just for Lync.
