Proper copper they usually list when stuff is CCA and not when its proper cable. Comms Express or Mills Ltd for all my cabling stuff, outlets were always Mills or Excel moved more to Excel as the Mills stuff turned crappy A lot of the Comms Express own brand stuff seemed to be Excel when it turned up, not everything patch panels were not Excel but outlets used to be when I ordered from them last time.

It may work however will not work as efficiently as it should as its not a PCI-x slot just a PCI. The top slot is for a bag card never found owt yet to go in them bar via cards. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI-X has a section near the end on compatibility. I have run a raid card similar to that in a hp desktop, it worked but was dog slow and had errors on the disk it claimed but was fine once in a full size socket

I use it where I work and for Microsoft stuff it's great, time consuming tweaking and adjusting it to be less shouty however as its very shouty out of the box. Add in the agent packs slowly till you get used to them and tune as you go it's certainly a nice tool and a useful one at that just needs quite a bit of time initially.

Out of interest does a newer firmware not fix the Java issue or remove it? I know older hp switch firmware had Java in it but they took it out in newer versions so we upgraded and Java be gone 😀 Just wish others would rid the Java from it looking at you EMC for Unisphere

This will hit others when the new plastic notes and coins change not just this vendor or type of product. Think of parking meters, chocolate machines in shops, stations etc... Some will I'm sure be code updatable to allow and recognise new notes and coins but some will not. I remember a note on a machine that it wouldn't take £2 for years due to needing to be replaced and local parking meters not taking new coins for a long time so it is something that will hit all machine whatever type they are used for with new currency and its a risk you take. It was something I flagged up to management when we bought cash revalues that when notes and coins change it could be they can be reprogrammed to accept or could be a throw them away and start again, don't know if they listened to my warning and took it onboard but I did say whatever vendor we got this would be a risk as its not the vendors issue the Bank of England changes the notes and people like NRS buy in the note and coin readers from big firms that make them so not always the fault to blame NRS. Late informing clients is never good I do agree on that but not in full facts etc... So hard to judge fairly but I'm sure NRS and competitors know that schools budgets are April or September in a lot of cases so earlier warning would be better.

You can keep both old and new on exchange and as long as you keep your old domain mail will come into the same inboxes as the new. You setup a policy to give your users email addresses, when you add the new domain to received change this policy to give users the new domain and set it as default and keep the old ones in place and users will be able to keep going off the old one as well as the new one. It's a very simple change no need to worry or make users worry.

We have the Riello ones where I am and they seem fine, infact very large shiny and nice, I have also had good success with Borri in my past life. We do have APCs as well but I've always been cautious of the smaller APC kit as it never seems to last past a Battery replacement, so maybe worth keeping that in mind.

The HPs Dave is selling are nice bits of kit, and you get full SCCM driver packs for HP and Dell as we pull them down for our kit so you can get them no issues for the newer kit I would personally grab the HP as I find it more robust in construction which was key in schools

Must admit I rasied that point before we spent time and money on a 3rd VLE solution after had Fronter and Moodle before that and it was a yes but that was a secondary school, some staff made good use, others could probably have been fine making more efficient use of shared areas and maybe SharePoint.

I would recommend buying a refurb from ICT Direct best bullet proof printers those.

Standard HP DL360 server with 1 CPU (whatever xeon it comes with) and 12GB ram, DCs hardly do any work once going even with loads of logins you'd be surprised you don't need much umph on them. The Virtual DCs have 1 vCPU and 8 or 12Gb ram so bascially a virtual version of the physical Mirrored disk with hot spare completes the picture for physicals.

Looks in store room at HP Elites yep got some of them brand new in box as well
