hi all, i have a slightly strange question to ask of you all, do you know if there is a way to actually browse the attachment section of the information store in exchange 2007? the reason i ask is that we have several hundred copies of some rediculous game going round at the moment. we have put blocking in to stop it from going further (we hope) but we want to pull any and all remaining instances of it out of the actual stores themselves so that it cannot go any further. if anybody has an idea, let us know! even if it isnt actually browsing the store itself, a possible way of clearing things up would be good! thanks!

odd, it managed to get 23 images out and then it went mad and put what i can describe as the matrix onto my screen with an obscene beeping sound which sounded like a bomb was going to go off! not sure what is causing it, it scrolls so fast you can't see it.

Hi RPwillis, Thanks for that, it has solved half of the issue and works very effectively! But, can it also be made to export Staff photos aswell? Absolutely brilliant little app, legend!

Sorry to gravedig, guys! But does anybody have an updated copy of the Photo Exporter or similar? It did work for us at one point, back in September, but now it doesn't work and we need to get all of the photos out of SIMS again for use with ID badge software. Any ideas? Thanks!

we're cooling our server room on two amcor portable 15k units right now - there is a split unit in there (24k btu) but it packed up 2 weeks ago (we move to the new building in 2 weeks time!!!) they're coping alright but are running constantly which isn't going to be good, keeping the room between 25-28c... venting all of the hot air into the corridor to cook the kids and i just realise what a noob ive been, i saw it as 06-06 and thought, oh, 2008! nope! 2007... erghhh. i blame the similar threads thing!!

i'm not - but my boss is as he lives literally round the corner from the buildings which is a good thing if something goes majorly tits up! these suggestions are all good, cheers guys, will be investigating them

hi steve, what kind of servers are you monitoring? we have dell pe 1950s, 2950s, 2600s and a couple of other servers thrown in for good measure. i know dell are a little bit weird when it comes to monitoring sometimes

hey people, this post has been prompted by the failure of our air con unit over night.. came in to be greeted with about 8 screaming servers running at a 42c+ ambient temperature. of course... id rather know about these sorts of things when they happen, rather than finding out 5hours after. all of the servers have openmanange on them but for some reason they dont have alert notification? i know i could set nagios up... but i'm not sure if it would pick up on the SNMP traps that openmanage provides? what do you guys use? new building in 4 weeks time... and the new server room is a lot smaller. if the a/c fails in there the rooms going to be hitting rediculous temperatures in no time! thanks people... rooms currently 36c

i'd personally tell them to go stuff themselves, im not trained to deal with kids in classroom enviornments on a one on one basis, only to help them out if they come to the office. if they want me to do that, they pay me more for it and put me on training. not that id bloody want to anyway. so yeah, tell him where to shove his timetable, hopefully he gets some papercuts

goddamn thats expensive but it does look like £4,633 worth of software. how much do those convertors go for though? and where the boxes are currently located we'd need to buy a switch each for them for them to work aswell.

it looks as if the xprotect stuff is ip camera only unfortunately, all of our cameras are coax cameras. zoneminder looks alright though, we're pulling one of the defunct boxes out of somewhere and will try it soon to see if it works

i don't quite know where to put this one so i'll put it in here where it should get some attention. basically we are having some pretty bad problems with one of our cctv boxes. all of the cameras are run to it by coax, they run into a capture card and then the shoddy software records stuff, and should, in theory stream to a remote box. but it doesnt do that. because its shoddy. so really, we want a new solution. preferably free but i know we're not going to get anything good for free. if anybody knows of software which can record 16 to 32 streams and accept connections from a remote client to view them, and its decent, could you PLEAAASE tell me! thanks

agreed! staff do their editing on their laptops, a mix of D510, 520 and 531's and we dont get complaints. the rest we do up here on our GX620's with 1.5GB ram and nvidia 8400GS cards! and its fine! so they can shove it

hhahahahahaha, i sometimes think that, but unfortunately no. the printer i made the change on, is the printer located in the director of finance/resourcing and that stuffs office, so naw. fine on postscript... now what i wonder

does make sense i changed one printer to PS to see if that worked (i knew it was persistently spitting out garbage) and it works fine... so not QUITE sure what to do now

oh i hate printers, we're having our own problems with them spitting garbage out atm. we have some hefty printers though, we have two HP 5500n's, they are superb printers and take a whole ton of work load (as they should for that price), we have 2 2550's aswell, but don't touch those, they are slow, loud, old and cant handle much. we have one 2600 aswell, its the replacement for the 2550 and is based on the same technology as the 5500's, just scaled down. quiet and reasonably fast, good printer! the principal has a 3500, which is a larger version of the 2600 so yeah, we're hp based here. for bw printers which take a lot of stick... 4250n!

trying to make sense of that link (was here till 9ish last night, and im bloody tired), and if my brains making any sense... basically vistas screwing the drivers up? so if thats the case... ditch vista or switch to a *nix print box? cheers lads // for clarification, only our workstations in the office (3 of us) are running on vistarse, boss has a vista laptop aswell, but it's not on the domain or using the print server.

'tis set to start printing after the last page is spooled, print drivers shoooouldn't have changed but I'll re-install them when everybodies gone home tonight. As for the Vista/Linux idea... we don't have any Linux boxes but our workstations ARE Vista and we do have a 4250 - could Vista have bolloxed with the driver somehow? cheers mate

'lo all, We have printers set up via networking, with them all installed on a central print server and a script connects the machines to them. You get the idea. That, isn't the issue though. The issue is where some people print large print runs, it starts to run garbage off, sometimes windings type stuff, but as of late it's more... random scatterings of ink on the page. Some of the stuff I'm looking at now is just paper with stuff printed on the page, but the stuff printed has been kicked to the side. I can't describe it better than that, the printers are 4250/2550/5500n's and are running on PCL5e where available (we had more problems with PCL6) but we're still getting issues. Anybody have any ideas? I'm stumped and don't know where to start! thanks all

if i get really bad ill usually just rant to the other guys, but when i get home... hate to say it, but a good few beers helps unwind, with a bit of 360. and then sleep. wake up the next morning feeling fine
