We are currently trying to setup Exchange Hybrid Mode on Exchange 2013. We have had 6 weeks of calls with Microsoft on this and are no further forward. Essentially when we run the Exchange Hybrid Configuration Wizard it always fails at the last step saying MRS Proxy Failed. We have 2 Exchange Servers both on the latest build of 2013. Both have MRS Proxy enabled on both servers. 1 server is on our internal network and hosts the mailboxes and the other is in the DMZ and is used for Client Access. We get the same error when running the wizard on both servers. Microsoft are wanting to put our internal exchange server directly in the cloud with an external IP address so both Inbound and Outbound traffic can flow to it. We tried to explain we have another exchange in the DMZ but we were not getting anywhere. This has obviously set some alarm bells ringing. Has anyone had any experience of this and is what Microsoft is asking correct or could point us in the right direction. Any help would be most welcome.

Ok so we have deployed Office 365 along with ADFS and all seemed to be going well. In the last few weeks it has stopped working on the Office Apps on our iPads (80 staff devices). On investigation it seems that it works fine when working on our internal network but outwith it doesn't work however it does work externally when logging in through the Office 365 Portal on Safari or any external device and seems just a problem on the Office Apps on the iPad when using outside school. We basically get the "There was a problem accessing the site...." message with a reference number once prompted by our ADFS login screen. Again only external, internal is fine. Problem happens on both IOS 8 and 9 and all Office Apps have been updated on the iPad. Hope this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated. Stephen

We have a new website in our DMZ. This works fine however internally it can take up to 2 mins to resolve/display the page using a shortcut on Staff Desktops. I have checked DNS and NSLookup and all resolves fine. Sometimes the page will display instantly, but more often than not, the pages takes a good while especially if it is the first time used that day. Can anyone think of any steps I have missed. We have a Cisco ASA Firewall, maybe I need something added in there? Any advice appreciated. The site is the school MIS 3Sys system. Externally the site works fine and it works fine if I specify IP address rather than domain name.

During the Summer we have replaced some of the older Interactive Whiteboards with large LED Touch screen panels. Although these are great, I cannot see any function to "Freeze" the screen like you could with a projector. This is so the Teacher can work on the computer while displaying class stuff on the other screen. I realise I could just change the setup to Extended Desktop but at this point I think it would confuse the teachers. Does anyone know if any other ways around this maybe know if software that we can use to do a similar affect? Thanks

I have been told that the school has purchased a document management system called Virtual Cabinet and if we are available in 2 weeks time to help engineers install it. This is fine but nobody has even thought about storage and backup. The recommended install is pretty low spec Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz, 4GB of RAM, but the Total recommended Hard Drive space is 750GB. We do not have this space available on any of our existing servers. What do you think I should go with - purchase a full Server that would do the job or maybe go with a Direct Attached storage option or anything else. Any low cost options to back this up to would be appreciated too. Thank you

Finally Fixed All to do with Outlook Anywhere and the Exchange Proxy Settings. We have 2 Exchange Servers - The Internal Server with Databases and CAS and a CAS Server for ActivSync and OWA External Access. I noticed that that the Exchange Proxy Server was automatically switching between Exchange Sever 1 and Server 2. When it was on Server 2 (Our External Server) That is when the problems occurred. Once Switched back to Server 1 on the Internal Network all was fine. I solved it by automatically setting the Exhange Proxy Settings by GPO (Instructions here - Outlook Anywhere (RPC/HTTP) settings are unavailable in the Outlook 2010 Group Policy template) and all has been fine since.

Hi, a while back I posted this http://www.edugeek.net/forums/enterprise-software/122498-exchange-2013-calendar-problems.html as I was getting problems. This has never been sorted. I have waited and upgraded to Exchange 2013 SP1 hoping this would sort the issue but it has not. However, I have now noticed the following in my Event logs. This happens imediately after I try and access a shared resource. Outlook remains ok, ie in that my Email and Calender are fine. This happens on the client. Outlook Event ID 19 Rpc call (EcDoConnectEx) on transport (ncacn_http) to server ([email protected]) failed with error code (6ba) after waiting (47) ms; eeInfo (Block (0), Error = 6ba, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = 2, DetectionLocation = 6ae, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 0], Block (1), Error = 6ba, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = e, DetectionLocation = 576, Flags = 0, Params = 2, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 4], [Param (1) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 6ba], Block (2), Error = 6ba, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = d, DetectionLocation = 58e, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 194], Block (3), Error = 194, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = d, DetectionLocation = 589, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptUnicodeString, Value = Not Found], Block (4), Error = e, Version = 1, GeneratingComponent = d, DetectionLocation = bb9, Flags = 0, Params = 1, [Param (0) Type = eeptLongVal, Value = 2f94]). Anyone any ideas on this - the Server Name is not correct since the upgrade to Exchange 2013 - The actual server name isnt this at all.

I enquired recently about licensing and apparently if you have an ActiveInspire license you have the right to install this on 2 PCs/devices. We were needing to install ActiveInspire on a PC that just had a projector connected. We have around 80 Promethean boards in our school. I would suggest you double check this though.

I had a member of staff at my Daughter's Nursery tell me that their IT support couldn't put in Wireless Access becasue the signal wasn't good enough in their area!! so they were forced to put in 10 "hard wired" ports around the nursery.

Recreating the problem is part of problem. It is inconsistent. I can open Outlook and access shared calendars and all will be fine. I can then close Outlook, reopen and the problem occurs. I have reapplied permissions both using Outlook and Exchange Powershell without any success.

Absolutley Not - the accessing of the Calendar using the URL seems to be an underlying problem Exchange 2013, however the issue with accessing Shared Calendars in Outlook is still an issue and we even have a company looking into this at the moment although we are yet to get to the bottom of this especially as the problem is so inconsistant (sometimes it is ok others it is not). My gut feeling is that the problem will only be resolved by a rebuild of the server. I have tried to reinstall Exchange 2013 CU2 without luck. I am sure that the problem only occurs when there are so many connections to the exchange server at the same time, which is why it is ok sometimes and not at other. We have tried Exchange Online and Cached mode, roaming profiles and mandatory profile, Group Policies and no group policies and Outlook config by prf file and manual set up, all without luck. OWA seems fine though! If you do find anything then please let me know or if you want some other info. I will certainly post any developments.

Copy the Mandatory Profile and rename it - assign this to a test User and then just edit the copied version. Once you are happy you can rename the current Mandatory Profile mandatory.old or something and rename the new edited one to the proper name. This way you can then always go back if things fail and you don't need to disturb any users while you are working on the profile.

Exchange 2013 - Cannot Send Receive Mail from anywhere
stebo730 replied to stebo730's topic in Enterprise Software
Hi, I managed to get things working again on Saturday night. I ran the CU2 v2 update again using the unattended command line - setup.exe /mode:Upgrade /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms Rebooted Server and all seemed to comeback ok. Thanks for you help - Still hasn't fixed my problem with accessing Shared Calendars though. Shared Calendar access doesn't always pick up the correct permission when accessing a Calendar and won't let you make amendments even though in some case you have owner permission. Any advice on this would be good. -
Exchange 2013 - Cannot Send Receive Mail from anywhere
stebo730 replied to stebo730's topic in Enterprise Software
I tried to do a Telnet to an external smtp system, ie, BT open world and it worked fine. I tried the same to my own server from my computer and all I get is a Press Any Key to continue and nothing happens. BT OpenWorld was fine. -
Exchange 2013 - Cannot Send Receive Mail from anywhere
stebo730 replied to stebo730's topic in Enterprise Software
I have tried Cached and Online (online by default) and it is still the same. I use a prf file but this hasn't changed. We have been getting a lot of problems so I took a snapshot and tried to install CU2 again. All was fine apart from I couldn't send/receive email so I reverted to the snapshot I took before I began and the problem remained. -
I have a Exchange 2013 Server installed on Hyper V. All services are started and Clients can connect fine even OWA and ActivSync brings up emails and I delete mail etc and it will sync fine. When I send from and Outlook client the mail sits in the Outbox. Outlook is connected to the Server I just cannot send or receive. I have restarted several times and have checked Services - Send and Receive connectors in ECP are all enabled. No queues on Server. Any advice would be welcome.

Hi, We have Resource Calendars in Exchange 2013 for booking Rooms and vehicles. These work fine in Outlook. However, in OWA we cannot get the calendars to appear through a url we have on our Intranet. The only way I can get staff to access this is if I add staff to the Full Access part of Mailbox Delegation for that resource mailbox in ECP. This obviously gives all staff full permission which we don't want. What have I missed or need to do to enable access for staff. The error message is along the lines of Something has gone wrong. Any advice welcome.

We upgraded to Exchange 2013 during the summer as all seemed to be well. However on client computers when accessing Calendars in Outlook 2010 occasionally it will go to not responding for maybe 2-3 mins before opening up Calendars also, when using Shared Calendars, even though a user has Author or even Owner permissons on another Calendar the New Appointment is Greyed out and the User has to submit as request to the Calendar owner. However on other occasions it is absolutley fine. We also have shared Booking facilities that we use a URL and OWA. However since Exchange 2013 Users now need to enter their Username and Password before they see the shared Calendar, In Exchange 2007 they could get straight into the Calendar. I have tried removing and re-adding the permissions using Exchange Powershell and this has had no affect. Any advice welcome

Hello, I have been asked to set up a Webcam at our school to oversee the building of our new science centre. I have absolutely no experience of this and was looking for a bit of advice. We also need to be able to see the footage on our website. As far as I can gather so far I need a PoE outdoor webcam, I have no idea what the best cameras for this purpose are and am slightly scared when it comes to setting up the live streaming over the internet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Stephen

We have a Guest Network that currently only provides Internet Access for Users. We have a DNS server sitting on the Subnet with forwarder set for our ISP DNS. All is fine except for our own externally available systems such as owa and our website. All clients are given the Smoothwall (transparent) as the Default Gateway apart from the DNS server that goes straight bypassing Smoothwall. I have put in forward lookup zones on the dns server and access is permitted through the switch. The DNS server can resolve our systems fine, ie on IE, Clients can't. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get these clients to resolve our hosted systems?

I had set it to deploy to Unknown Devices and for whatever reason it was a known device and would go no further. I did a quick test by setting it to the TS to go to All Systems, which I don't really want to do, so any advice on the best course of action so I can target specific machines would be good. Finally it looked like it was working the I got a TS Error 0x80091007 just after the wim had downloaded :-( One problem after the next!

Right! I am pretty sure I have SCCM 2012 set up correctly. WDS was installed from within SCCM by enabling PXE boot on a Distribution Point. No config on WDS at all. PXE Booting is hit or miss, I am getting a lot of PXE-E53 No boot filename received errors. This can happen on a particular computer and fine on another. Another computer it will be fine and boot up to the task sequences, the next time I try on the same PC I get the PXE-E53 error message. The only thing I can think of is maybe SCCM knows about that PC because of the MAC address in the SCCM CLient software installed on a PC. I am lost, any pointers again would be most welcome. I do not have any 66 or 67 options in DHCP as this is not advised. Thank you.

Thanks very much managed to create a wim file using this method. I now have a problem with pxe boot but will post that under a new thread.

Hi, I am very new to SCCM and I am struggling through it to be honest. I have used MDT in the past but want to go fully over to sccm2012 for all our imaging. My situation is that we have 40 W7 PCs in our ICT Labs and I want to capture an image of one of our existing PCs in the Labs so I can deploy out should 1 break etc. Our ICT labs contain a lot of programs so putting out a bare window7 build then deploying apps and updates isn't really an option. Is there a way to cope with this scenario in SCCM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
