If I where you, id not bother with the CF - pull the HD out and install PFsense on it or even monowall and see if it boots it. Turn the box on with HD instaled with pfsense and give it 5 or 10 minutes to boot and do it's first install - make sure you use the EMBEDDED version of pfsense

Best thing to do is load monowall onto the CF card and see if it will boot into that - Only certain models of the SSL Watchguards will work on pfsense because of the interfaces and the BIOS. If your not having any luck try monowall (m0n0wall) and see if that boots - if it doesn't chances are it wont work on that box.

I like AMD, I have a machine at home I think its an Athlon X2 64 bit 3.3GHz. Runs Windows 7 and Office just fine.

We had 6 different sites around East Yorkshire using fibre tails from a local ISP, we replicated each site... difference being we used Novell for server side and proxying rather than Windows. It's going to be vastly different on how its setup, the basic jist of it all was though we had a SAN and servers at each site which basically replicated our main cluster site, but a lot smaller, we had small learning centres on our network and other parts of the college located in different places. First thing to do is ask your ISP see if it is something they can deliver... Our network was fully switched which is what the ISP also did, every site was switched.

I've got a samba server here which authenticates via AD, if one of the servers gets rebooted either the DC or the CentOS server for updates I have to issue the ntpdate command otherwise users got the login box. example : ntpdate dcserver.domain.local if you get an error when running that command, stop the ntp service and run it again.
