What were the issues that caused you to move to \my documents? Just it may be the reason for my current homedrive setup.

Hi I am currently looking at migrating our staff and students to our new fileservers, this would be easy but the previous IT manager at my new school has set the home drive structure as \\Students\year of start\%username%\My Documents\ instead of \\Students\year of start\%username%\. I have two questions:- 1. How has he done this as when I try and add the homedrive location in AD it doesn't allow me to? 2. Is there a way of using robocopy to migrate students homedrives from \%username%\My Documents\ to \%username%\? Jon

Tbh I haven't done any changes to how the clients and the mis server connect to the proxy. No issues though I will just have to deploy the proxy settings though group policy instead.

Hi Since running the summer upgrade I have had some issues using intouch from staff machines. I'ts working on the server. Currently all client machine receive the proxy settings from a .pac file which capita states is causing the issue, but didn't have the issue before the upgrade. Is anyone else using intouch and using .pac files? Jon

You did mention a while back you were having some DNS issues. We have had some issues with reverse and forward records not matching since starting at Richmond school. Which has caused a few issues with solus 3. But when working in Durham I never had any issues with it.

Hi I am having a few issues with DNS onsite, where stale records are not being removed even though Aging/Scavenging is setup. I am wanting to read information from a text file using Python. The format of the text file is Name Score with each result been on a newline by using “\n” for example: Karl 5 Dave 10 Steve 15 ETC I want to add this information into two lists one with the name and one with the numerical score. Any ideas?

Yes we have 60 Epson EB-475 onsite and we have had this a lot. Usually the flickering starts after 18 months. We have noticed that you only see the flickering once the projector has warmed up. Luckily with Epson's 5 year warranty they have replaced the bulb each time, which fixes the issue.

I remove them from Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SIMS2008\MSSQL\Backup. That's where the sims backups are stored for my site. Forgot to mention usually leave the 5-10 most recent .bak files.

Hi the Main hall electric projection screen is starting to come away at the seam. I created a few quotes for a replacement which unfortunately was turned down by the schools governing body. My question is does anyone know of any companies that do repairs? Before anyone one asks, I have no information about the manufacturer of the screen as it was purchased over 8 years ago and the company that installed it went into liquidation two years ago.

What version of IE are you using? Is this a new issue? When I updated IE10/11 at my school on a server2008r2/windows 7 environment I had the same issue. With later versions of IE, setting proxy details through IE Maintenance GPP settings have been depreciated, only work around which you will find on here was to apply the setting by copying the settings through registry or updating the servers to 2012. Might be the same issue?

Over the past two weeks I have had a number of laptops which look fine when get log on screen, but the moment you log on the colours go psychedelic. I have found fix by removing and adding the intel graphics driver but I find it strange that: Why isn't it effecting the log on screen if it is a graphics issue. There are no errors in event logs and running dell hardware diagnostics nothing is picked up. There are no errors showing on the driver in device manager. The computers that have been affected have been working for well over a year without being reimaged. We have well over 400 of the same laptop within the school so why hasn't affected more computers Just a bit puzzled at the moment?

Hi, We use wordpress for both the school and sixth form colleges websites St Bede's Catholic Comprehensive School and Home - Byron Sixth Form College. The themes were purchased from themeforest. Never had any issues with using wordpress.
