We get dell ones from @ICTDirect_Dave the cheaper ones WD15 with only hdmi and vga are ideal for classrooms as they only need an hdmi for promethean boards. We had to get better ones WD19s for admin staff who have 2 monitors that don't have vga ports any more. 90% of the classrooms/users have one of these

Someone from Netsupport got me the right encryption key to use for the tutor app and that's registered to the connectivity server but can't find any of the computers. I've kind of lost hope using the help portal as all the articles are howtos and not problem solving. I opened another support ticket as the guy I was corresponding with last week seems to be off this week.

I've worked it out with some further emails that it is the gateway key. I'm installing v15 but whilst the encryption tool has a v14 or higher box the group policy doesn't but I can use the v12.5 or higher box in group policy. I got the test computer showing up so that's progress. I got a some computers in a room to appear with a named channel but the security check fails for the tutor console even though i encrypted the tutor gateway key using the encryption settings and put it in the tutor policy settings. Checked the registry on the tutor machine and it's in there but I must be doing something else wrong.

I think it's all set up (being deployed) apart from the clients talking to the connectivity server console. They all (student & tutor) have a security error in the csc log file. I emailed support which gave me an encryption utility and stated that the encrypted key for the tutors is different to the encrypted key for pupils. Pretty sure the (apparently old) instructions i was using from the portal didn't mention it. There's a lot of options in this encryption tool. in the CSC it's called the "connectivity server key", in the encryption tool there's a gateway key and a security key. How am I supposed to know which it is? Also in the encryption tool there's 3 versions of the encrypted key but the group policy page doesn't have "v14 or later", is that relevant? I'm not pleased by how difficult it is to make sense of this product.

Anyone else using Ericom for remote access? I got it because I needed an alternative to microsoft direct access mainly for admin staff with desktops. I'm finding the configuration very confusing. Our previous system Accops was mega complicated but at least made sense in how it was arranged and connected and I could figure out how to simplify it for our needs. Stopped using that because we don't need to pay for the same level of security that Deutchebank has. They use it too. 😅 How we ended up with it is another story. Ericom is simpler but makes less sense intuitively

(the exams officer needs to pre allocate the codes to the students in a csv. The folders "STUDENT CODING" and "COMPLETED CODING" need to be created in the exam areas. Just wondering what spec computers people are running solidworks (2023) on these days? Looking into upgrading the tech room which has been going for 8 yrs on the same computers - the computers aren't terrible as they are i7s with 16GB ram but the cases are damaged and the graphics cards are totally obsolete that when I upgraded them to Solidworks 2023 they have to run in software compatibility mode.

Administrators still can so I guess it's a permissions thing. The first report of this I got was about 3 weeks ago so I'd say it's something that changed since the start of the year. In New teams the options are greyed out, in Old Teams they're not there at all. Obviously something has changed. Any ideas how to fix this?

Either getting blank pages or pages where it only loads half a page. Noticed it first on reports which I had used the previous week. Can't add any exclusions because the add field is not there. This mysteriously started happening after the weekend a couple of weeks ago. testing MFA/authenticator using conditional access. If it's set to apply to everything new outlook kicks out me when I try to write a new email. If it's set to strength authentication it refuses to accept that my account is already linked to Microsoft authenticator (MA is enabled for all users in authentication methods) Seems ok if I set it to cover admin access with multifactor authentication - not reliable for anyone else

Microsoft ruined shared mailboxes in new outlook but putting them inside "shared with me" and you can't add the inbox to favourites. 2 clicks to check if there's any new mail.
