Looks like I'm after a laptop with a small screen then.

Is there any difference apart from the size between a notebook and a netbook? I’m after something small and portable that can run Office and has wifi.

My personal PDA came with a few office apps but they are nowhere near as good as a laptop. Waste of £3000 if you ask me.

Is anyone using PDA's in a primary school and if so what are you using them for? HT wants to buy 10 but I can't think of any useful purpose for this age of students

Luckily the machine was still within warranty by a few weeks so I called Dell and after 23 minutes of on phone fault finding the call centre decided to send an engineer. The engineer called the next day and duly replaced the PSU and motherboard. Prizes are in the post for those who guessed correctly

Ok thanks for all the advice. For information we have chosen the Sadeo digital signage with the Evo player SWEP EVOlution - Digital Signage Hardware Player from Sedao Digital Signage Solutions fitted to a 42" TV. If you have ever seen a demo of this system you will know why we have chosen Sadeo.

It's for digital signage. We want to send a signal over to the far end of the building to a TV in the dinning room. There's a cab near by so I thought it would be easier to use the existing network rather than use a new cable

Quick question please. I need to send video to the far end of the school. There is a fiber link linking both cabs at the ends of the building so the question is, does video over ethernet work over fiber and through the switches? Thanks.

I must be the only one having problems email to one and one domains then. I’m on holiday till Friday so I haven’t chased it but it just occurred to me that there is no RFC-16606! So what’s that all about!

We on the L package with 10Mb connection. The line is mostly ok but drops out at peak times.

Tell me if you think I’m mad but I’m considering moving back to BT from Virgin Media. After getting my phone bill this month I realised just how much Virgins prices have increased. So if I move to BT who gives the best deal on broadband? I’m not concerned about speed just a good steady service with pop3 email and webspace.
