If the switch have gone back to its default static IP address it won't show on the DHCP lease.

It won't accept leaving the gateway out. Did a timed file copy from a server and the throughput seems ok same as the other switches and I can ping the other switches through this switch with a response of 1-2ms

Do these switches use the 192.168.2.10 address like the Procurve 1810 switch I just installed?

Just fitted a Procurve 1810G-24 switch and set the IP. I see when pinging the switch from a machine that's plugged directly into it I'm getting a reply that anything from 2ms to 46ms. All my other switches respond with a 1ms-2ms ping. What can the problem be?

I'm after a new server but because the budget is getting smaller by the day I'm looking at trimming costs. I see Dell make the T610 and T710 servers and both use the Intel 5520 chipset. So from the look of it they are the same server apart from the T610 has less memory slots and less HD space. Is there anything I've overlooked or could you recommend another server that costs the same as the T610 or even less? Thanks,

Picture 4 shows the member of box, mine was greyed out as if it was the home version. I'm reinstalling windows on it now so problem over.

In Windows 7 Pro the network ID wizard is greyed out so I can't join the domain. Any ideas how to proceed?

There seems to be one problem after another with this project! This software doesn't work with that software... that software has problems with with software. I've held off replacing this server for 9 months because of the problems with server 2008 and exchange and now if I go with 2008 r2 I won't be able to back it up and that's not even counting the extra cost of Backup Exec as NTBackup was free and with a little help from vbs did the job quite nicely. Any dates of when the new version of Backup Exec is released?

Right, thanks for that. What about backing up as I understand server 2008 doesn't use NTBackup in the same way as 2003 did. Should I go for a 3rd party tool like Backup Exec?

I took the .mod files home and tried them on my Win7 machine and they worked fine so I've come to the conclusion that Vista is cr*p but I'm sure most people knew that already

We're got a Panasonic SDR-S26 camcorder that I'm trying to get to work with Windows Movie Maker running on a Vista machine. The camcorder produces .mod files so I've installed the k-lite codec pack so double clicking the file shows the video in Media Player ok. The problems start when I import the video into Movie Maker as it recognises the file as an mpeg video but it only plays the sound with no video. What can I do to fix this?

I find many PAT testers are con men as well, as today I saw a ActivBoard that was sporting a PAT test label!

I'm running Windows 7 on a HP DC7900 that I want to use with two monitors. I'm using a HP display port adapter and installed the latest video drivers from Intel but I can't get an output from the display port . The graphics properties report there is only one monitor attached to the machine. The adapter works ok with XP but I using Windows 7 Anyone come across this?

I've found it. I needed to enter the proxy settings in Inspire and not control panel

I'm trying to update Inspire, current version 1.0.10799 but it keeps giving me an error about checking the proxy settings. The correct proxy setting are in control panel so what can I do next?
