  1. Hello - I'm trying to set our 13+ to have access to CoPilot - how long after setting the NotAdult property does it trickle through?
  2. In a Class or Staff notebook created via Teams, when a member/student uploads a file (such as coursework or homework) to a page using 'Upload to OneDrive and Insert link' the file itself isn't uploaded to OneDrive - it goes to a subfolder in the Team's SharePoint. This folder has zero security, and all files uploaded in this way are editable by the entire Team, including students. Microsoft support have told me this is by design, but in reality, this is unusable in this context. PLEASE UPVOTE MY ARTICLE ON THE MS FEEDBACK PORTAL
  3. Hello. Do we need to do anything to watch online on the day?
  4. I can't believe I've never noticed this before - but someone has just pointed it out... In Class Teams > Class Notebook, if a student inserts a file to a page, and opts to 'Upload to OneDrive and Insert link' the following happens: The file is uploaded to a folder in the Team's Document library (and not OneDrive) at all Permission to this file are set individually - inheritance is broken EVERYONE in the Team (owners and members) are granted edit rights to that file This is madness - why have a system which provides secure sections within the Notebook, and then grant full rights to linked attachments to the world and its mother? Here's a quick demo of what I mean - I can confirm that other students have full edit rights to this file. Has anyone else noticed this? What do you do about it? Have I missed a setting somewhere? Thoughts appreciated.
  5. For anyone annoyed by this, here's a way you can register your dissatisfaction by upvoting this post: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/0d228fbd-af9a-ee11-a81c-0022484f9f6d
  6. *bump* How can we collectively put pressure on Microsoft to rethink? MATs and suchlike can't suddenly drop to 100TB - the fact we are multiple schools should trigger a larger pool of all the schools included in the tenant, surely?
  7. Good morning Nearly a month later, Microsoft finally took us seriously and this issue officially became an incident in the support centre last night. Hours later, they have isolated and resolved it.
  8. Hi there I think it might be this issue - it's the Teams mobile app on iOS and Android, and attachments aren't working. Been ongoing for weeks now and MS keep saying they're looking into it, but I've not seen any progress...
  9. Microsoft have escalated the issue to the engineers.
  10. Still nothing from Microsoft. The latest was yesterday that their 'support leads are reviewing the case' Anyone not having this problem? What version of the iOS app are you running?
  11. I tried to report it to Microsoft as a ticket - they sent back diagnostics for Windows. Still waiting I also tried to report an issue via 'Service Health' in the admin console, but they have just come back with 'No issue found' I'm glad to hear it isn't just us...I'll keep you posted
  12. Hello Are there any iPad/Teams users out there who are experiencing an issue with Teams Assignments in the app? We're finding that any attachments can't be opened, and you get a generic 'Sorry, something went wrong' message. Similarly, students can't upload attachments to assignments either Can't just be us, can it?
  13. That's great news! Please do keep us informed... - - - Updated - - - Ooh that's a good idea...thank you
  14. Hello During the last couple of weeks of school closure, we had something of a problem with students inviting other students 1. to live meetings 2. to join their Class Team 1. We do have the lobby option by default, but they were getting clever - it transpires that they can go the meeting options of a live meeting (even a 'Meet Now') and get the link to the meeting. They then send this to a friend (or themselves) and rejoin anonymously - changing their display name to match the syntax of actual student display names. The teacher admits them as they know no different and then chaos ensues. According to this UserVoice, it has previously been completed, but if it was...it's back! (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053-schools-and-universities/suggestions/42010276-edu-we-need-to-have-more-control-for-join-link) (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053-schools-and-universities/suggestions/42705083-disable-the-copy-join-info-for-attendees-studen) Furthermore, if you join via Android, you don't get tagged with '(Guest)' as one should (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/42704864-guest-status-not-showing-when-connected-via-mobile) 2. Students can invite anyone else to join a Team - ok, the teacher has to approve it, but the less savvy might just do this and it's just a nuisance (https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053-schools-and-universities/suggestions/42871437-restrict-ability-for-students-to-add-member-to-tea) I'm wondering - have you seen this? Are you bovvered? Have you found solutions? Can you upvote for the UV posts please? (are we allowed to ask that?)
  15. I have looked into this in the past and have not been able to find a solution. I'd love to know if anyone can prove me wrong though...
  16. I'm really sorry to crack open the seal on this ancient thread, but does anyone have a solution for this? Unbelievably, we've only just noticed it (or rather the kids have only just found it...) Skype is not licensed, but thanks to Teams, they can still chat in Skype... we could disable the app of course, but that doesn't help on personal devices... Thanks to Skype phones, we can't change the coexistence mode yet... Thank you in advance Jonathan
  17. Ok. I give up! How on earth does one disable calling for students in Teams? As it stands, a student can click 'Meet Now' and start their own audio or video chat, and I don't want them to be able to. Nothing I'm doing with policies in the Teams Admin Centre seems to be making any difference - I'm guessing these only apply to scheduled meetings... Has anyone done it?
  18. And slightly off topic...but it made the child in me giggle...
  19. FYI - Salamander answered with the following: If a student moves group, will they will be removed from one team and added to another? Yes, they should be removed from their old class and added to the new one. How does this affect any work they have done in OneNote? Their section group in ClassNotebook should stay as is in the old class and they should get a section in the new ClassNotebook Is the data transferred? No Can the data be transferred? Not automatically no. Does it disappear? No What about at the end of each academic year? The Teams are kept as is, and new ones are created for the new academic year's class groups.
  20. Hmmm...so close and yet so far with Teams, eh? @psydii Totally agree - just wish one could control access to, say, the files Tab in Teams... can see files ending up in obscure places again... @woody - yeah...dammit!
  21. Hello everyone We are beginning to deploy Teams, Salamander and SDS and I have a few questions - can anyone shed some light on them please? If a student moves group, will they will be removed from one team and added to another? How does this affect any work they have done in OneNote? Is the data transferred? Can the data be transferred? Does it disappear? What about at the end of each academic year? Fanx peeps
  22. I'm going to a deodorant party at the weekend... Roll on Saturday...
  23. Hello I'm totally noob when it comes to moodle. I have enabled self enrollment ability for the whole site, but now I want to enable it for all current courses - can this be done? Thanking you in advance...
  24. It's announced on the Office 365 Admin Centre
