  1. I'm not a teacher but the statement above sums it up pretty well. I am friends with a number of teachers and I wouldn't want their job no matter what the pay. Palying to the crowd Mr Cable. The last time the Libreals did that they stated they wouldn't introduce/put up tuition fees. A lie plain and simple
  2. Ah... thanks for that I don't have Sky never have. Disappointed careers teacher coming up..... Many Thanks for the info Kili
  3. Hi Guys did anyone record "Karl Pilkington the Moaning of life" this week. If so and your a clickview user could you please upload it to the exchange so I can download it to our clickview server. Thank You Kili
  4. Demo Builder - Create Software Demo Presentation - Screen Recorder
  5. Nothing wrong with Joomla if you know what your doing. Issues arise when multiple extensions which are poorly coded are used and not kept up to date. I run 4 Joomla sites and picking the right template to give a professional look and feel is key. Joomla if used and understood correctly is one of the best CMS you can get as evidenced by the millions of sites that use it.
  6. This is what we use works a treat.
  7. I use xcacls but I also use a tool known as security explorer. This is a great tool to have for managing permissions and saves a whole lot of work. It's a powerful tool so treat it with care. Unfortunately it's not free but there is a virtual trial you can try online. UPDATE Just noticed this has been bought out by Dell and the licensing is now too expensive in my view. Shame it's a great tool to have in your admin arsenal
  8. Thanks Guys. It looks like I may have to re-evaluate the Cisco option with so many positive comments in favour of Aruba
  9. Thanks for the feedback guys and other Aruba users your comments would be appreciated
  10. Thanks Domino. I dont have any Cisco kit but from what I've heard it's good stuff. Have you any experience of Cisco wireless kit. I'd appreciate your input.
  11. Thanks lagmatt http://staticc3.cdngeek.net/images/statusicon/user-online.png I have got a quote for a Cisco 2504 controller and 23 Aironet 1601i access points. Cisco have a good reputation and I'm leaning in that direction but I dont want to preclude any option at this stage. Would you chose Cisco over any of the others? Kili
  12. Hi guys We are currently looking into the installation of a wifi network across our campus and would welcome any comments on Aruba wireless systems. Can anyone advise on their experinces with Aruba wireless systems? Good, bad or indifferent. All comments welcome. Thank you for your help Kili
  13. I had exactly the same thing for a family member who came to me for advice. My advice! Dont bother with a website. Get your self an ebay and paypal account and use that. Millions of visitors every day and no website to worry about, no seo or website maintanace. Keep it simple would be my advice
  14. I would suggest you purchase a copy of Vmware workstation 9. Load this onto an well speced laptop or workstation and you can set-up a 2008 network for testing and running through the set-up of said servers in addition to any courses you may take. It's what I use and it makes life so much easier for testing scenarios etc...
  15. It sounds like your engine thermostat may have failed. Fortunately they fail in the open position hence the reason it dosent close to allow the engine to get up to temperature. When working correctly once at temperature it opens and closes to allow water to flow through the radiator to cool or closes the valve to keep it at temperature. Just replaced mine last week for that very reason. Might be simpler to get it checked out and or replaced. Mine cost me £29 for the part and 20 minutes to replace.
  16. Being a father of 3 who have all been through UNI I feel for you . It's not till they reach their mid twenties that they seem to mature to a state that they become one of us older people lol...
  17. As long as he loves his mum as his mum and a mate that's all that matters I suppose
  18. You'll get a much cheaper screen from ebay. I've bought 3 over the years and their usually easy to replace. Give your lad a clip round the year for using the F word in a text to his mum. Mums dont deserve that kind of language from their kids:director:
  19. Hi Stuart. You need to find out what O/S your host is using windows or linux. Most web hosting accounts come with a control panel in the case of Linux the most common is Cpanel. Once logged into your cpanel you can look up the bandwidth used by your account. A quick and simple way to find out if you have access to cpanel is to enter cpanel after you website nmae in a browser www. mywebsite/cpanel and this will take you to a login screen as long as your hosting provider hasent set it up in some other way but that's the default. Kili
  20. I would start at https://moodle.org/course/view.php?id=5 there's a lot of information in the forums for you to digest.
  21. If you give me details of where I can upload I can give you a windows 2003 standard server ISO file.
  22. Do you have somewhere an ISO can be uploaded to?
  23. Did you try the suggestion below I made earlier in the thread Try it and see what happens. Kili
  24. This is nothing to do with Joomla. I assume your on a cpanel server. You would login to Cpanel for your site and set a password for the joomla administrator directory. This creates a .htaccss file in that directory which asks for a password as soon as you try to access http:yoursite/administrator/
  25. Looking at your site I see your still on a 1.5 variant. I recommend you upgrade as soon as you can. I also suggest to block attempts on your login page that you password protect /public_html/administrator or www/administrator whichever you use. Kili
