Hi, I'm looking to find a system, preferably something we can host ourselves, that we can use as a central store for site details. I was hoping someone may have some suggestions, as I've tried a few different products I've found but none seem to quite fit the bill - they all seem to be CRMs that are based around sales or ongoing project management. We support multiple sites, and want to be able to keep a central system accessible (web server) by all technicians that can contain details such as IP ranges, server info (specs, S/N, install date etc) and any other information we may want to be able to access. That way, if we go to a site we haven't visited in the past, or aren't familiar with we have some sort of reference. Basically, a system that requires a login, and can be split up by site name (School1, School2, School3 etc) and then we can upload either documents to it or actually create documents within the system. Any suggestions for software someone may have used or just know of that fits the bill better would be great. Cheers

Check out the Honor 8 - I got the 7 a few months back and it is without doubt the best phone I've ever bought - blows any of the Samsungs/HTCs I've had out of the water. The phone is funded and built by Huawei, but design by a company called Honor from what I understand. I'm just doing some more this morning, and I have the issue if I just do one at a time. I have to apply the blueprint then the apps afterwards... Really strange - personally it seems to be only since I updated the mac to OSX El Capitan (10.11.16) but maybe that's coincidence.

Yep - this is what I ended up doing, except some apps wouldn't add at the same time as others so took 4/5 attempts. Weird!

I'm having this exact issue now and can't find any information on it... Don't suppose you got anywhere else with it afterwards? My next step is to try the apps one by one as you've done above - just seems a pain more than anything :/

None taken, it's not something we do to be honest... I'm not the one who sets prices etc, but as far as I can tell we're extremely competitive (generally V low priced) - however I do get that... A few companies in the area are very bad for this, and it does give support providers a bad name. Sounds like a busy time for you, however once the new build is complete and you've moved do you not see your workload dropping a lot? Or is it a matter of moving onto the next project? I guess this is a fair point - we do get involved in this stuff a bit, but I'd imagine not to the extent as if you was onsite all the time.

I work for a support company, however I'm curious as to how large these primaries are that require a full-time tech (or multiple)? I'm in no way saying you've got it easy or aren't needed, I'm just curious, as most of my schools get half day a week, barring one that I'd classify as a large primary that has a full day and this works fine (they get the odd callout when it's needed, but usually that's few and far between). If I had a full week at any of these I'd literally be twiddling my thumbs.

Hi All, Just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction to download firmware for old Meru Hardware since Fortinet have taken over. The Meru support pages now redirect to Fortinet and I'm not sure if the firmware I'm looking at on the Fortinet site is correct as it'd not specifying what H/W it's for. Currently running a MC1500 controller on firmware 5.1-75 and could do with upgrading it as well as the AP1020i APs, however assume they'll upgrade automatically via the controller like with Ruckus? If anyone can help, or tag one of the Meru/Fortinet people that are on the forum that'd be great. Thanks

Unfortunately, I don't have any on Win7. It's bluescreening, so I assume it's another driver... Not managed to have a proper look at it yet, so I was just trying to be lazy and cheat a little by using someone else drivers if they had them, but this is probably my next step when I get a spare few mins. Thanks - couldn't find this page. Unfortunately, looks like RM only supported it to Vista, and there's only an Audio driver for vista. Looks like the Hardware ID and getting them from the hardware manufacturers website is going to be the way forward. Cheers guys

Hi All, Has anyone got any Windows 7 32 bit drivers for the/that work with the RM Ascend 2020B they could share with me please? I'm trying to image a couple with Windows 7 via WDS, but they're not booting to WDS without the drivers, and I can't seem to source and drivers for the machine.

Just had my second update from Huawei/Honor in about 3 months last night too... Which is pretty impressive IMO. First update was Lollipop to Marshmallow and then a fix for some "bugs" that I'd not noticed personally (notification light not blinking, changing icon styling to suit marshmallow better etc according to change log) and the latest Android patch... Not something I imagined from a Huawei phone, the support from the big boys like Samsung in terms of updates is usually pretty shocking so I'm impressed by this.

YEp, image was built on same hardware at same school, although the issue my colleague had was on different hardware at different school. I plan to sort a file, this was just doing one manually to test the image was working. Not back there til next week so will have to check back again later

Seconded - very fast, upgraded to Android 6, great camera handled everything I've thrown at it so far... Thought it was going to be shoddy since it's backed by Huawei but it's probably one of the best (if not the best) Android phone I've had, and generally I go for the flagship models. Hi all, Hoping someone has seen this before or can offer some suggestions. I've just imaged my first Windows 10 laptop using WDS. Drivers are imported to WDS and the laptop has official support for Win10. I'm using a Windows 10 Education image that has been built on a VM, then sys-prepped and captured to WDS. When I've imaged the laptop, it boots up to the setup screen asking for language etc (no unattended files used at the moment) and works through all the usual screens as you'd expect then reboots (no blue screen or error messages) and starts back up at the setup screen asking for language etc. A colleague has had the same issue at another school too, but never found a fix. We've set Windows 10 up at another school with same setup and had no issues so not sure what's going on here. I'm just trying to reimage with UEFI enabled to see if that makes a difference, but my colleague tried this so I'm not holding my breath. Any suggestions appreciated.

In regards to a phone, I've had the Honor 7 for a few months now with 3(Huawei's latest spin off) and I must say, it's really good... Running Android Marshmallow - Oct core CPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB with expandable storage, fingerprint scanner, HD camera - Runs everything I've thrown at it so far.Honor 7 Dual SIM Contract & Pay as you go | Three - I believe they have a new one out too now. They do a SMART watch so I'd imagine a tablet would be due at some point - if the phones anything to go by I'll probably be investing in a tablet when I'm ready for a new one. This is essentially what I rely on, unfortunately, I have nobody to pass down to if I get any PITA faults Every know and then though it's nice to be able to get a second opinion from some diag tool when you're looking at one of two causes and don't have anything spare to test your theory.

Hi All, Just curious as to what people use to diagnose hardware faults on computers? I've got a few different tools that run in or out of an OS most of which are just old free things I've built up over time, but wondered if anyone had anything better... Preferably something that boot from a memory stick and have a suite of checks on there for all things hardware (don't mind if it does other things too, but my main thoughts are for hardware). Free or paid for, don't really mind, but want to hopefully find something reliable and without having to have 15 different tools. I'm sure there's something, but struggle to find something I trust whilst searching. Cheers I've seen things like this for sale: QuickTech USB Are they any good or do they just end up been rip-off... Freebies / exactly same as freebie software on a USB stick?

FYI / if anyone is interested - I had a similar issue at one of my sites... Rather than a driver not working / network connection, it was just taking a little longer to get an IP than the timeout limit. There's a sneaky way round it in which you get the machine to ping the server and wait for a reply before continuing the WDS sequence. Doesn't appear to be a graphics problem after looking today... Finally heard back from MS after emailing the Global Support manage of the support team at Wipro who MS use for their support (how does an IT company not have their own support team?). If anyone has other ideas all suggestions will be welcome. Cheers

Fair point - I'm too paranoid to set what could be such a large folder as an exception (Especially with some of the garbage I end up installing), so I'd probably waste time setting each file as a separate exception . I'm shocked to see Sophos and MSE being the most popular products I must say!

Out of curiosity, why would you not want Program Files to be scanned?

I forgot that it was Defender again in Win10 - I was thinking it was still MSE. I've gone for Sophos now, and uninstalled Avast... Didn't realise how much Avast was slowing my system down! Not sure about using Sophos, not a huge fan of it at work, but we'll see... Something inside me didn't want to Trust Defender You brave soul
