What kernel are you using? CWM is the only way to go IMO Also, if you're anything like me - you'll install all your software as soon as you've flashed the ROM. If so, try leaving it a day or so... Could be one of your apps causing the issue.

When flashing the ROMs have you followed these steps? 1. factory wipe / reset 2. wipe cache (some say twice) 3. wipe dalvik cache 4. install ROM If not it can cause various issues. Usually you can get away without 2 & 3, but this is what can cause problems.

My S2 is a T-Mobile device, and no issues here... Although mine is unbranded :S

Is each user assigned a specific laptop? If so couldn't you just creat a folder in the root of C, set the relevant permissions, then shortcut it in their documents? This way the documents are available both in school and at home and there's not complicated setting up to be done. Just be sure to make then aware that anything saved locally isn't backed up - although this could be done with a basic script if you really wanted it to be.

Same here ^ I've never known it and have recommended it to many people - seems odd to me that you'd have these issues @X-13... maybe an issue specifically with the Galaxy S version of the ROM?

Is it definitely an official CyanogenMod? Rather than one someone's modified further? Seems odd from my experience of it across multiple handsets.

To be fair, I've the same issue on the S2 and have had since it's been about 6months old - and that was on the Stock ROM. On a phone of that age, I'd be shocked if it was the ROM causing it, and not just the age of the battery. My S2 lasted about half a day until I put Cyanogen on - I get just about a day now.

Surely just ban it from the US store then. Or even better, don't ban it - if Google are still aiming for Android to be an open platform, surely it's in their best interest to allow items such as this, that they can see is beneficial to some users, so just add a "WARNING: THIS MAY REMOVE YOUR WARRANTY" disclaimer...

Good point - many newer routers support this. Even my bog standard Sky supplied router can manage that (albeit, probably not quite as many features as yours) - a little education for the parents would work much better, and might even teach them a little something other than e-safety.

Not really - the point he was making is that, way before all this sort of material was being published/made widely available, rape was still a thing (much worse in actual fact), so you can't blame our "rape culture" on these types of publications. So, his point is actually quite valid. And, in all genuineness (probably not a word, going with it anyway), I know more women who think/speak in this way than I do men. This is true - If I'm buying a paper, I want to know news - not the bra size of a woman I don't even know, and certainly not anything about the latest celebrity to have a baby with a weird name (but if that's not what you want to see you just buy another paper). As @localzuk says - If we ban it so children don't see it, we're making the whole topic of sex a taboo subject - by allowing it, we're in no way saying that objectifying/raping women is OK.

I don't think an all out ban is quite the way to go - I agree it sets a bad example to an extent, but for some out there - this is something they enjoy doing as a job, so why take that away from them? I also agree that it shouldn't be the main highlight when you open a newspaper/magazine etc - it needs toning down a little (a lot). I'm 20 years old and don't see women as "things" or "posessions to be owned", and I don't think it's images like this that cause people to think that way either, I think it's down to the people they're brought up around (not necessarily parents or close family) and their attitude towards women. Again, I think it's down to educating people on the subjects, letting them know what's right and what's wrong. If someone wants to look at pictures of semi-nude models, then as long as the models are happy doing that for a living then why not let them? And I'm not just talking about female models either - although they're not as well published/seen, I'm pretty sure there will be published images of men of a similar orienation.

I'm not saying I agree with Page 3 - to be honest, I can't get my head around the reason it's relevant in a NEWSpaper. But, with the newspapers - it's down to the parents whether they allow their children to see these publications. (as it should be with the interweb) Though let's be fair, the newspapers that do this tend to just be boobs and celebs, so shouldn't really be classified as such!

Couldn't agree more with this... once you start trying to censor things it's a slippery slope. One persons idea of offensive or "hardcore" can be different to another's, so who has the right to tell that person the sites will/won't be blocked? The better option would've been an e-safety campaign with the government offering subscriptions to netnanny (or something similar), that way it's up to parents to choose what their child can and can't view.

Is this normal or something with our images? When launching "Configure advanced user profile properties" from the start menu in Windows 7 to delete a domain users local cache, it can take 15-20 mins to launch - is there any way to speed this up? It eats into a lot of lesson time when this is the only fix for a user. I've tried launching it from CMD (rundll32.exe sysdm.cpl,EditUserProfiles) as well as accessing it from Control Panel, but it's no quicker these ways either. Why can't they just have a Documents and Settings folder like in XP?
