We need a way of copying all files from multiple folders that share parts of the same name into a new directory, for example: We have 3 folders called 123folder folder832 and xfolder45 and we want all items to be moved into "folder". In the original directory, there are 600 folders, and they need brining down to 300/400 folders by merging folders with similar filenames as per my example. This is to move a mess of users home directories, onto a new server from a site we've just taken over. For some reason there are two or three folders for some users. We've tried xcopy "C:\*folder*\*.*" "C:\folder" but this doesn't work. Also, we've tried FOR /d %a in (folder*) DO XCOPY "C:\%a" "C:\%a\" /s /e /f /h /k /y with no luck. Hopefully this makes sense... If anyone has a script or can link to some info or some software that can do what we require it'll be appreciated. Cheers

I'm creating a Wordpress site that is an online training course, and at the end, I want the user to be able to type their name into a box and print out a personalised certificate. The certificate is already created as a PDF, but can be converted if need be. Basically I want an editable region in the certificate document, that will match whatever is entered on the webpage, and then the user can download the PDF / print it off. If anyone has any idea of how this can be done, a link or a quick how to would be appreciated. Thanks

Not personally got either, but I know the XBOX console generally have a bigger following when it comes to online gaming, therefore the online gaming tends to be better... The 360 definitely outweighed the PS3 in terms of online gaming, but I think this was mainly down to it being a paid extra.

We do, but as it is not happening on all I didn't think this was related. If I remove SMART Ink will this not remove the ability to draw over programs other than SMART Notebook?

I've had this issue with a couple of sites, but can't seem to find a common factor that could be causing it. Has anyone else experienced the following, and does anyone have a fix for it? Open IE (10 or 11) to the homepage which is Google, and for a brief moment, it's fine. It then flickers and goes to a blank white page. On this page, I am able to scroll down and then Google display properly, only at the bottom of the page which happens to be twice the size of Googles normal page. Some other sites display similar or just as a blank white page. When accessing sites that require a sign in, you can click in the text box, but the cursor appears at the opposite side of the page and no text is input when you type. Currently the fix I'm using is to use chrome or downgrade to IE8/IE9 but this isn't exactly ideal. Hope this makes sense, I will try and get some screenshots if they're needed. Thanks

I believe Hirens is OK if you only use the products you are licensed for... The later versions of Hirens appear to have had some of the licensed software removed anyway.

This is my favourite and most used tool: It can fix many issues, although not many of them technical or computer related. It's a difficult concept to handle, but basically what you do is put it in a cup, and pour boiling water over the top, leave it to sit for a couple of minutes before adding a small amount of milk and drinking. I call it a teabag - Trust me, it works.

This is what I thought - but not being something I've ever played with, I wasn't certain. Thanks - My main aim at the minute is to get it running with a touchscreen - this way it can be used as a touch screen audio player in the car and I can work up from that. (Not that it'll go in the car until it's working in the house first) In terms of playing video, I probably never will use it for that, at the end of the day if I'm not driving in the car, I'm waiting for someone and music is more than enough for what will robably be a couple of minutes tops - the ability to play video was more because it can, than because I want it.

This makes me want dash cam and reverse cameras adding to the list! I've been looking at a couple similar ones on ebay that claim to work with the Pi - I'm more worried about the quality of these, as I'd read reviews of some that were saying the orientation is terrible and that it's almost impossible to get it to orientate correctly. I couldn't understand why that was the case though... I guess it's worth the gamble for the price, last time I looked they were going for double the prices they currently are which put me off slightly. Thanks a trip to Maplins or CPC may be on the cards. I've considered this, but feel as though it's cheating, considering everything I want to do is possible from the Android tablet out of the box (apart from the vehicle diags, but that's a dongle and an app). Definitely up for the challenge, and willing to learn - that's my main point for doing it to be honest.

Hi all, Finally decided it was time to start a proper project on the RPi, After all, I've had it about 2 years and still not done anything worthwhile on it: My idea is to remove my car stereo, replacing it with a Touch Screen controlled RPi. In my head, I'm thinking FM/DAB radio over the internet with a 3G dongle; GPS receiver for SATNAV; Car read-out dongle, so I can see all the info on screen like plugging my car into a computer at the garage; WiFi Dongle, to connect to my home broadband whilst parked in the drive to avoid map updates over 3G; obviously it'll have the ability to play music / videos (when stationary of course); I'm going to wire in a Mini Keyboard/Touchpad combi and fix this onto the door of the glove compartment, for ease of configuring should I ever need it. All this and anything else I think would be a good idea as I go along. I'm also contemplating having my (soon to be old) S2 built into the plastics between the cup holders and gear stick to be used as a bit of a remote control for the volume etc, so even if the music player window isn't open, I can still skip tracks etc quickly and safely. That's the overall plan, but to start off with I need a half decent touchscreen - can anyone recommend one? I was holding out for the official HMDIPi, but it appears that it isn't a touch screen. I'm looking for something between 5' and 7'. Another question I'm hoping someone on here has an idea about - I was hoping to get it powered the same as a car stereo - I want it to be wired into the always on, so I can use it when I cut the engine, but want it to start the shutdown sequence after x seconds if I don't manually stop it when the engine is cut. Any clues or ideas would be great. Am I expecting too much in terms of power? I was thinking possibly even using 2 Pis to boost specs in a similar way to this (:: University of Southampton) I've had a look about the web and people have done similar things, but not to this extent, or the info is a bit sketchy on the points I've highlighted above. Any thoughts, pointer or links to people doing similar things are appreciated!

That's actually really helpful - Not exactly what I want to do, but should help me massively in understanding how it's done. I'm liking the login section for possibly allowing users to input DB entries using some of the code from W3Schools - Not had that idea until seeing this script.

Hi, I'm wanting to create a webpage, that basically has nothing but a search bar and a little bit of text, the search bar should allow the user to search a database (I assume SQL would be best, considering it's web based) and will return the information - example: [table=width: 500] [tr] [td]Name[/td] [td]Photo[/td] [td]ID No.[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Jeff[/td] [td] Photo of Jeff here [/td] [td] 001 [/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Steve[/td] [td] Photo of Steve here [/td] [td] 002 [/td] [/tr] [/table] The above is basically the structure of the database, I then want the user to be able to type into the search bar 001 and it return a a small bio of Jeff, IE his name, photo, ID no. and anything else we decide to put in there. What I'm wondering is the best way to achieve this search and display results in a web page - I've had a search but seem to be coming up with mainly irrelevant results or half explained answers - anyone offer some help? Small example if you've done this or something similar in the past or a link to a decent tut would be highly appreciated. I dabble in a bit of web design, but never had to write anything to perform SQL queries... Anything I've done with web based SQL in the past has been basically, Wordpress type installs etc Thanks, Grant
