yea I don't let staff remote in they just use the web parts. but however not being harsh but what ever happened to doing things properly. if you are going to use the system then use it. don't use it then say "oh I don't want to do that bit" its like me installing an windows server os I don't mind installing it but i'm not going to install windows updates or install any anti virus. its all part of the process and then schools wonder why people don't use sims properly to because half of the data is missing because some one cba to put the other half in.

if you use the homework section in sims and on your vle, if a member of staff does not fill in the handed in date then you will get parents ringing saying that your VLE is wrong i.e not been updated to reflect that there son or daughter has done their homework ref 1401-1272740

Well not to bad replaced 6 lenovo laptop keyboards. Has anyone tried upgrading there domain controller that was on windows 2008 r2 to a windows 2012 R2 environment and which has an exchange 2007 attached to there environment (not upgrading a DC with exchange 2007 installed on) what was the outcome

What does the event logs say dont forget 2012 r2 is still new and might need to wait for patches

I think its quite easy put all 1300 pupils in via csv and then once they leave you just revoce them along as you make a tutorial for the pupils then ur good to go

Strange are there any issues on the clients in the event viewer? you could always try prefmon the ms tool and run it on the client and see what is happening when the file is executed If it is spreading then has any changes to any switching config change also how many dns servers do you have and can they see each other properly Have you had any issues with permission on files and folders e.g security sid taking longer to resolve Are these clients all on dhcp

If all pupils are accessing the same file in power point then there will be some slowness you need to also consider the disks on the server are they being iver worked could it be you need faster disks and also the file that is being used how big is it and what device is the file being opened on e.g wireless These are just some of the things you have to take into consideration
