Strange one Member of staff came in and said that she was unable to get am email from another school Now I can send and receive email to and from my hotmail account and bearing in mind I have had email coming in all day and no one else is reporting of an issue The school in question the nm can not send me an email to my address however its on sending it to my hotmail but he can receive my email from my address The error codes its telling me is 550 but there is nothing wrong with my exchange server and general email is flowing in and out of the school. even with the person who is supposed to be getting the email in my from my school is getting my test emails. Nothing has been changed how ever I did notice that I hadn't made sure my dns servers bind settings were not set to the nic and I have checked the scl ratings and I have dropped them to 5 and 6 bit low for my liking and no status codes errors from our spamhus that we are connected too so its a bit strange any suggestions would be nice

Well you guys have answered my question as I was thinking of maybe I should take the school down this route but now maybe not I mean office 365 does sound gud but im a bit well..not old fashioned as im 28 but I like the sense of im in control of the flow of whats going on in my network and for something this important I dont thing people should take the risk even if it's "new tech" their are other ways to provide access to these programs people just. Have to way up the pros and cons like everything else

**BYOD** typo I would like to know how other people use BYOD at schools and what the policies you have in place about mobile phones, etc i'm trying to find away...well I say find away but looking at pupils having the potently to use their mobile devices within a school environment. which in our SMT team don't like the ideas of as they have been fighting against pupils having phones in school etc. which I understand and I completely get but I know their must some schools out their that have already taken on this challenge and have had positive results I wanted to use a end to end solution called air watch but my only argument with it was that the end user would of still have to put in a password for downloading applications assigned to them. however you was "able" have other phone devices connect and be able use your customized profile for their phone until they were outside of school however I believe you would still be able to use the phones main feature of texting and calling etc cheers

their is a tool called IIS lockdown you could try if this server is connected to your main lan then yet you def have a problem you should really keep this server in a different segment of the network (if it is then scratch what I have just said) however you also want to make sure that your services accounts are turned off and that you have basically only the lowest user account to access the site they most prob use some Unicode to do a buffer overflow on the iis server or something of that nature my if you really want a secure web server then you either get it hosted some were else or you use apache or go along down the server core route

I have been having an issue with our DPM2012 all was ok until last Thursday. Basically when you click on the recovery tab mmc crashes and closes the console however all other features are ok UNTIL yesterday when now the reporting feature is playing up. weird one trying to start the DHCP Client Service and getting access denied however my first domain controller has the service started and in SCOM everything is ok, however my second DC has an issue with the DHCP Client Service I’m getting access denied I have gone through the registry on the first domain controller and replicated the exact same permission on the dhcp reg folder and the tcpip reg folder and still I get the same access denied error I have checked the local security policy > user rights assignments and everything is exactly the same and i still get the same message when i try to start the dhcp client service. all of my 3 domain controllers have static ip address and all are DNS servers the only server that is handling dhcp request is my first domain controller any ideas would be grateful

only thing i can think of is allow-from http-request-headers should i change this to https ?

here is my issue i can go to https://wpmls02 and it will automaticlly log me in however, when i try and go from my our portal the page loads up i get a grey screen and nothing i know its something to do with either the ssl certificate and maybe the isa listener this is from internal has anyone had any issues like this all because i want use silverlight pfff
