  1. Yeah I deployed it to the TRCA, cheers.
  2. Tried the static IP still getting the SSL error.
  3. Hi both, I have checked the time and date and ensured it is syncing with the DC, so the date and time are right. We are a SWGFL school and have installed their certificate which I have checked on the PC and it has installed. The PC is in its own OU, but only for printer purposes. Ill try a static IP. Cheers
  4. On one PC and one alone I am getting a: Your connection is not private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from http://www.gov.uk (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID Automatically send some system information and page content to Google to help detect dangerous apps and sites. Privacy Policy I thought it was just the user, but I have tried many logins and get the same. We are a SWGFL school and I have deployed the latest certificate and all seemed well. But on the Head's PA comp, I get the error. I have tried re-imaging the PC but get the same issue. I have removed it from the domain and put it back still not helped. Any more ideas would be great? Cheers
  5. Hi, Event ID was 1001 in Event Viewer/Network Profile as Network disconnected. I have setup a scheduled task to run a batch file with the command "rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation" but this is not working
  6. Scripting/programming is not one of my strong points I have to admit. RobD - Cheers bud, I will have a look at this. eddyc - Hi mate, is this something you would be willing to share?
  7. Thanks, I am ideally looking for an open source solution, we are a small school with a very very (eye wateringly) tight budget.
  8. Hi mate, no we are an ABTutor school, would like impero, but not happening at the moment.
  9. Hi all, I am changing our setup, installing new software etc, ready to re-image all PCs over the summer. One thing I wanted to get working was Edulock to lock the PC when the little ....... pupils unplug the network cable, but notice that it is no longer available. Is there a alternative that anyone can recommend? Cheers
  10. Hi all, I just wanted to check on this as I am planning on re-imaging all the PCs in the school over the hols. Whenever I re-image a PC, (even just 1), it slows the network down and the WDS server until I can delete the job from multicast transmissions in WDS. Any ideas? Cheers Sean
  11. Hi all, Still working on getting skype setup for staff to use in school for messaging, but was wondering if there is a central admin tool for this? So that I can centralise the client setup without having to go to each one. If you have Skype for business in your school would be interested in how you set it up? Cheers Sean
  12. Hi mate, sorry for the delay in getting back to you been manic. I am going to look at that today. Thanks again.
  13. Tried to install SNIPEIT a while ago, couldn't get it to work found it very complicated, any advice or guidance?
  14. Hi Mate, Did you have to set anything in GPO to get local profiles to work? If I remove the profile path from AD I keep getting the error above, and if I allow temporary profiles of course it logs in but none of the redirected folders work - Ahhhhhhhh Cheers * Fixed it, my brains broken. I blame Friday.
  15. Hi guys, Thanks for all the advice. Couple more questions: 1: Do you put software installs via GP in one GPO or seperate for each piece of software. 2: What do you use for profiles? I currently use roaming profiles with profile redirection, but was thinking of just using folder redirection and not entering anything in Profile Path in AD, though a the moment this is causing a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error message. Cheers again
  16. Hi, Putting together new gpos on new set of computer and user OUs. I have put a test user and test pc within these OUs. The issue I am having right now is one of my hidden mapped drives for users will show up intermittently, when I delete profile it disappears. Then after a few logins, it shows up again. Any ideas? Cheers
  17. Hi mate, thanks for replying. I am using Aruba Instant, I am using Windows Server 2008r2, this will be the first time setting up.
  18. Thanks guys, going through tidying up now. Big request, call me cheeky I can take it, but if not too much trouble could someone send me their student lockdown GPOs for their workstations? I have started doing it (prohibiting control panel etc) but would like a template to work from so that I can pick, choose and test. This is for Windows 7 and server 2008 r2 - though do have server 2012 as well. Cheers
  19. Hi all, I would like to setup a radius server and link to our Aruba APIN0205 WAPs. Has anyone got a good guide for this? Or can give me some advice? I want to limit only school devices connecting to the wireless. Cheers
  20. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has or can advise me on the advised process for cleaning up Active Directory and Group Policies? I setup the network in 2012, but had only used CC3 before that so did not know anything about setting up AD or GPOs. Our sponsor at the time had hired a company that were supposed to put in the servers and work with me to setup AD, GPOs, etc. But the guy I was supposed to be working with, brought in the servers, then went on holiday for 2 weeks and I only had 3 weeks to get everything setup on my own. I patched together the network from youtube vids and guides found through google, so I know it could all be setup alot better now that I have more knowledge. Cheers
  21. Hi all, Our timetabler is working from home next week and she wants to take the dataset home on an external harddrive, how do we go about save the dataset to the external? Or do we retrieve from server and copy? Thanks
  22. Hi all, Now that I have disabled SMB1 our scan to file no longer works on our Toshiba e-Studio MFP's so I am setting up scan to email. I have setup one using office365 and it works well, but due to the password changing every 40 days or so, I wanted to use something else as do not want to keep changing the password on all the MFPs. Any recommendations? Cheers
  23. Thanks for all the posts and advice. I have checked and powershell and cmd are well locked and cannot be run through python. But I am still paranoid and rather err on the side of caution with a VMBox. This paranoia has come from experience as a few years back a student (clever little sod when it came to programming) managed to play with different parts of the network, nothing malicious but still makes me cautious. I just don't think anything can be 100% blocked, locked down or safe (otherwise there would be no hackers) and with some of the kids we have here they will always find a way round to "mess". - - - Updated - - - Like that idea, would be helpful.
  24. Hello all, I have been asked to setup python and scratch on domain PCs for the computer science course next year. I am fair to say very, extremely reluctant (not happening)! But I have been asked to find a way round it. Previous years, we had a seperate room on its own network running the software which worked really well, but as the course was not run last year the room was turned into a proper PC room. So now we have no spare rooms that I can do this to. What do others do? I was thinking VirtualBox as a way forward. Thanks Sean
