I never got to the end, struggled with it so have moved on to Trapped by Jack Kilborn. A couple who run a center for troubled teenagers take them on a camping trip to an island, where there is a legend that there was a civil war prison and the prisoners revolted and turned to cannabilism to survive. Story for the whole family

Hi all, We are moving into a new rental property and I am starting a new job, so will not be home that much and possibly could be staying away more. I have been looking at an alarm system and CCTV cameras but have to do it on a budget. I have been looking at: HiWatch or ieGeek CCTV Camera with iSpy Open Source Software tiWee Home Alarm System Starter Kit = https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071R4RXWZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1IU6F6VVA4XFV&psc=1 I know these arn't the best systems but it what I can afford. I like the HiWatch cameras as have been installing Hikvision at school and have been very impressed. Also could anyone recommend a good CCTV software I have been recommended iSpy and ZoneMinder? I know these are budget systems but it is what we can afford at the moment, especially after paying the reference fee and deposit? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi all, Trying to finish getting bitlocker setup for our laptops. We are Win7 Enterprise desktops/laptops with a mix of 2008r2 and 2012r2 servers. Majority of our hardware will not have TPM chips built in, but I do not see the point in using USB keys to unlock laptops as can guaratee staff will keep the USB keys with the laptop and if they are stolen defeats the object. So would like to setup startup PIN. I realise that this will not work with Windows 7 or Server 2008r2. Our netbooks are Windows 8.1 so wanted to test with them, but when I log into the 2012 server and go to GPME on the option "Require Additional Authentication at Startup" it only give Windows 7 family as support on, not at least Server 2008 and Windows 7 as expected. Is this because we have a mix of Server OSs or is there a update I need to install? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi both, Thanks for that. I have double checked the BIOS version and we have got 1.00.08 so can upgrade. Sadly with budgets at the moment (or lack of) I need to keep all 20 going for a bit longer yet.

Currently reading Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt. Welcome to Black Spring, the seemingly picturesque Hudson Valley town haunted by the Black Rock Witch, a 17th century woman whose eyes and mouth are sewn shut. Muzzled, she walks the streets and enters your homes at will. She stands next to your bed for nights on end. Everybody knows that her eyes may never be opened. The Ben Aaronovitch books are on my reading list.

Hi all, We have a load of Stone Laptops (Clevo W76OC) and out of curiosity was wondering if there was a BIOS update for it? The date of the current BIOS version is 11/05/2010. I have tried the Clevo website and I have contacted Stone, but at the moment no luck. Cheers

Hi all, I have installed WordShark V5 on a server and I am attempting to install the network management software on the server where WordShark resides, but during the install when it is trying to start the service, it rollbacks and says. “The Wizard was interrupted…..” I have tried running as administrator, installing to different locations, entering different administrator logins for the service logon, but I still get the error. Any ideas?

Hi all, I am looking at a way to report on the computer usage around the school. I am sure that I have 2 computer rooms that barely get used, if at all and I would like to prove this so that I could reissue the PCs to other areas? If there is any software or way to report this it would be appreciated. Free preferably. Thanks

Hi all, The system that I inherited had staff laptops setup as standalone (with mapped drives) and staff with local admin rights on the laptop. With everything else including GDPR it is time to move away from that. How do other schools do that with regards to allowing accessing to drives remotely? I was looking at Offline files, but was recommended work folders. We do have Office365 so was also looking at mapping the users onedrive account? Any advice or recommendations would be brilliant Thanks

Fingers crossed. But when I had the issue with AV it worked fine over the hols as no one was accessing it and editing/creating files. Good luck.

Not reading, but listening to 14 by Peter Clines in audiobook. "Padlocked doors. Strange light fixtures. Mutant cockroaches. There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment." Really enjoying it so far.

Hi all, Got SnipeIT setup and working great love it! I was looking to add PAT testing custom fields into the system (pass, failed, date of test, date of next inspection, date of next test etc), but was wondering if anybody else has done this? What is the easiest way to do this? Is it just through custom fields? Sorry if what I am asking is obvious just want to double check as do not want to screw up the setup? Thanks
