Blocked here the same as Leco, anyone able to give us the jist of their reply? I've taken the position of not passing on the "work around" as Sparkebox is not 'mission critical' just a resource and I'm not willing to take the risk of allowing a user to access a site that has been blocked for good reasons by our appointed filtering service, if I did why don't I just take on all the legal resposibilities to filter everything..don't think so. Anyway, just think of all the printing costs I'm saving by people not having access to Sparkebox (anyway most think I blocked it becuase of that reason!)

Beat me to posting this problem as well, got a trolley of netbooks (yes imaged and all have new Sids) yet every so often one seems to drop of the domain, as shinobi says, removing from domain, adding to workgroup then back to domain does the trick and it's happy as larry again. Is there a quick scripted way of doing this fix so I can allow a competent member of staff to do this for me when I'm not there untill we find a solution?

I just use Any Video Covertor (free) Free Video Converter - Any Video Converter Free Version - convert video to any formats, avi to MPEG, avi to MP4, flv to MPG its not online but save waiting and you just paste the link to the Youtube video, select the format you want and select convert, job done.

Not tried multicast yet, seen it on the FOG site but how do you set it up or start it. Used Fog to two PC's at a time (same as you was using cheap 8 port switch at the time but now got my hands on a good 24 port)?

Got that Monday feeling and can't seem to get my head around this one. I have two columns of data, Age at Death Total 23 2 1 3 34 4 45 5 56 7 3 3 23 4 11 5 32 2 2 4 giving ages people died at and how many of them died at that age. I want a histogram with the ages along the X and the total dies on the Y but can I get it! Don the usual highlighting both and selecting graph but don't seem to get a graph that I can select and age and cross reference it to the Y to see how many died at that age.

Do we know why SparkleBox has become blocked on the YHgFL network? Its actually blocked as it does not give the weighted phrase block when its down to content its found. Getting it in the neck here as they all think its me as I try and control what they print due to cost restrictions i.e. we don't have the money!

After the success of the HP projector clean I've just done an Epson-S4 and what a difference! We were considering changing the projector as it was on its second bulb and the image was poor, dull etc but now back to good as new. A few more bits to take apart but nothing complicated so long as you watch what you are doing and are methodical. There is clear access to the lens etc and can be blown out easily...sad nut I can't wait to have a go at another one :-) Think its another S4 or an S1 next then I think its a Panasonic.

Its a link to the Espresso box in school and its not a corrupt shortcut as they use the same shortcut in the suite (global desktop) and it works in there and the same shortcut works for other users on the problem PC. Its not a problem with the profile as I said it works everywhere else for the same user. As its the end of the day now looks like I'll just re-image the PC next week when I'm back in. Thankfully the teacher is quite understanding and is happy to wait untill then anyway.

Got a strange problem here with a pc in a classroom not loading or should I say takeing ages to load up Espresso (I have not the patience to wait but the teachers does). Any other web page loads fine bbc etc, Flash is up to date and other users log on that pc and load Espresso fine. If the user logs on in the suite (which they have this morning) Espresso loads fine. Using a mandatory profile so the problem is not in there it must be on the PC itself. Any ideas, already cleared any profiles etc, temp files, temp internet files etc from the PC but still the same problem with just that user! At a loss at the moment, if I can't fix it today I'll just re-image it next week but thats using a sledghammer to crack a nut syndrome, would be good to find out what the problem actually is. Thanks

Got it in one! from the contractors side I think. They saw a quick and easy option, not looking further ahead than an early finish. As said earlier in a post the least they could have done was use a coupler and extended the line. I've had that done here and saw no problem with it as it would have been too expensive a job to run a new length from switch to new point. Just terminating it at that level is just daft! Have had a similar one done to me though and its still there die to lack of money (but I'll get it sorted as soon as I can) a link was asked for and I expected it to be new link back to the cabinet like all others I had had done before...but no they just ran a cable to another class nearby, added switch and cabled it up via a wallsocket so I wondered what was going on. They said schools just want to do the cheapest option but not always the best!

That looks like they did not run any new cable runs at all and just fed the cable down from above and re terminated the socket. If you measure down to the new socket from the roof then take away the floor I bet that the distance left will be the same almost that the original socket was from the floor! Don't pay, they are just swinging that one!

We have a richo and a panasonic copier used as printers and we just put the code on the server in the printer properties page (sorry not at that school at the moment so can't be more specific) adn the printer is then shared out at logon via script. The code seems to be kept OK and never had a problem of it loosing it. Only way it does not keep it is when the code is not set on the server and the user has a locked profile, hence no saving of the code. Do you need to alter the permissions on the share for the printer to allow them to manage the printer?

Great..bit picky I know but watch them play air guitar, they slide their hands to the end of the guitar for the higher notes not down the frets to the middle! Strange! (or am I for noticeing that?)

I know i used the option in FOG to create images that were of a fixed size and not resizeable as if I remember I had problems when I tried to image using the resizeable one. Did'nt matter to me as the image will only be going on to the same computers. Try creating an image with that option and try again. Hope it works, other than that don't make the mistake I did, remove all the origianl partitions (need to do that on each client before imaging) and then I forgot to mark the new partition as bootable, imaged it and found it would not boot, maybe thats the problem. Use Gparted and just mark the image partition as bootable and see if that works, might be lucky and be a quick fix.

Just had a go at an internal clean of an NEC 6111 projector and it was....surprisingly easy Once you have figured out whats what, its easy to open up and then its just one screw to lif of the cover from the mirror lens area, no messing with anything technical. Can or air later and mirrors and lens are shining bright! You could see the fine dust on the mirror hence the dull image even with a new bulb, now its clear as a bell. Wish I'd done it before we just replaced the projector, hey ho we now have a spare projector At least now I'm more enthusiastic to have a go at some of the other makes (although I don't for one minute think it will be as easy as that one!) Thanks to those who have attemped a clean and encoraged me some way to have a go myself. If anyone wants I'll even take it apart again and take some photos if they want to have a go, but make it soon as it will be going back to school soon (yes, I'm daft enough top be doing this at home at half term!) PS Anyone had a go at an Epson S3 or S4?
