  1. Thats the weekend job sorted then!
  2. Thanks, I may have to in the end. Presume it was easy to spot?
  3. Our main display screen has just gone caput, was working one minute, next day nothing at all. Checked fuse and probably a power supply inside that has gone as its on alot of the time. Anyone know someone who will a) give me free quote to see if its worth a repair and b) will accept a PO as payment! Struggling at the moment, we are based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire if that helps! Tried a few and they either want silly money just to look at it then more for the repair or will do it but dont accept PO as payment. Can see me having to buy a new one at this rate.
  4. Yes, got the One X here and been well pleased with it, have had a couple of niggles but they got sorted out and its been fine since.
  5. Yes we have quite a few Avermedia ones, but saying that they were quite happy to use out MS web ams that we had really bought for animation work! Aver ones do have some nice software though and in built lighting for poorlyblit objects etc and zoom featurez which magnify really quite well, never seen so much detail on a coin before having said all that depends on what money you have to spend.
  6. Think its something like £30 per device per year, just give them a ring.
  7. Whoooorrr! Fantastic but I dare not even ask how much that little cost with the engine replacement etc. Now that was a project and a half. Yes its a case of paying enough to get a decent one then allowing more still for ongoing costs etc. Loving this thread, lots of usefull info. Will keep an eye out for the Kilnhurst DubFest, even if we dont ever get one its just nice to window shop and dream!
  8. I have them and the server share works fine for me, although could not see a use for it initially untill I suggested it might be an idea to have a scan to server QR which is now a built in feature. Ours is hit and miss at sending files but I think its the LeanPad WIFI rather than anything else. Have now found its just quicker and easier to plug the LearnPad in to a PC directly using USB and just drag the required files off. How quick does the profile change when you change it? I have only done it via the QR Code so far and its been a bit slow. Dont know if its any better from the online console? I do find that the LearnPads get unlocked quite easily when something crashes etc and have to manually go back through settings to turn LearnPad back on to lock them. Our Pads are the LearnPad ones and I think a better option are the Toshiba. The power adaptor connectors tend to get bent slightly if not carefull as they are quite thin. Love to hear other views etc of others using them. We have had them about 12 months now and have a set of 30. Teachers are a bit hit and miss on their love of them due to them either locking up or no one charging them up (but thats a different issue altogether!)
  9. Would you say a 1.6 is Ok but better to wait and look around for a 2.0?
  10. Not bad but that £230 up front would sting a bit! Swings and roundabouts really, more up front cheaper monthly and vice a versa I suppose. As I pay the bills, her 'like' may end up as a 'not get' and I'll just have to put up with being the worlds worst Dad, ( a title I seem to be bestowed often)
  11. Ha, nice one, obviously even though it costs a lot you still think its worth it. At least I would be going in with eyes wide open and wallet by the sounds of it! Still it's only an idea at the moment.
  12. Hmmm, not what I wanted to see but gives me hope if I contact my provider, see if they will do a deal. We're good when I wanted to change mine but didn't want to pay the shop price.
  13. Yes did that with the iPod touch, refused to buy it and give her due, she saved up for the two she has had. It's a bit of a keeping up with her friends thing I think with the phone although she is never off her iPod, using the messaging feature (can't you tell I know what I am on about...not!). May give T mobile a ring and see what I can get out of them as that's who I am with, got a great deal as a second phone for my wife.
  14. Heard that the pace of life has to be slower! What kind of things start to cost?
  15. Sorry but a new phone request again. Daughters phone runs out of contract next week and apparently I am the worst Dad in the world as I have done nothing about it yet! She would 'like' an iPhone 5, mins not an issue, prob get away with 1gig data but prob need plenty txt. Could I get that for what I pay for her current phone which is £20 + ins a month?
  16. Got to take my hat off to the heavy duty ones that Hills Components supply, had lots so far and since september have not had any broken, cables destroyed etc. and they are as cheap as other cheap and nasty ones that last two minutes, only about £4 to £5 if I remember. Give them a ring, they are very helpful. They come with their own storage bags and that has helped as once we got them I made a rule that rather than have them out and connected all the time, they have to be put away in bags after use otherwise they don't get them next time. We have the odd ones left out, but so far it's better. No end of problems win them getting tangled etc when they were permanently left out. Splitters I have had from various places but I bet Hills do them as well. Get the ones that have cable fly leads rather than a complete moulded block as they tend to break the port on the PC due to their infexibility. Hope that helps.
  17. We keep mulling over the idea of getting an old VW camper van, possibly a T2 bay window one, so just wondering if anyone on here has one and there experiences with them, things to look out for etc etc. What they like to drive? May never come to anything, nice to have a dream though. Just looked on ebay and some nice ones.
  18. Thanks, bit more digging have found that innounp does the job but not sure if it helps me now anyway as I bet I would have to run the setup file manually anyway.
  19. We have some Lenovo all in one PC's which I want to add the drivers to our master image for the summer but I only have exe setup files downloaded from their site. Is there any way to extract the files so I can add them to the master image? Got all other types of PC done just these left to do.
  20. What about DropBox on a USB? or is too much data involved?
  21. Not as far as I am aware, just stick it on a shared drive and way you go. Think java may be required if you want to host the finished games online although I could be wrong.
  22. I'm probably wrong but should there not be a msgbox before the first text and should it not be in quotes like the second. The error would probably be because the if statement would not be correct as it would be expecting that statement before else, as it is, its just a comment with the ' Then again I could be completely wrong!
  23. Now you have correctly answered your starter for 10, your next follow on question is...can I also set the arrangement of them i.e. by Name?
  24. Not being the most profficient but willing to have a go at most things is that a simple job to do?
  25. Just been thinking ( a dangerous sport for me!) and wondered if its possible to have a domain name that works for our intranet. We have IIS set up on one server for a small internal email system and I have used Wamp on another for a bit of testing. All work fine as I use the ip address in the web address to load a page but is it possible to have it use a domain name for an internal web site instead of the ip? Only access to it would be internal, if it cant be done no worries, just a pondering thought.
