@teklogic are you saying with your setup then that no password prompt is requested and you don't have ADFS setup? also what version of outlook at what kind of profiles are you using? Thanks very much

Hi everyone, Is there anyway to stop password prompts when using Office365 with Outlook? I have looked into ADFS using SSO but as far as I can see even with Outlook 2016 it still prompts the user for their password when launching Outlook for the first time. We don't use roaming profiles here but has anyone got it not to prompt for a password when opening Outlook with roaming profiles? I don't mind if a user has to put their password into Outlook once but everytime they logon is going to make people shout at me. Any help would be appriciated. We are using Outlook 2010 at the minute so if I can get it to work without password prompt even better. Cheers

Hi @TomHD thanks for the PM with the instruction however I still cannot get the activity pack (head icon) working it is grayed out. In the last step on the insturctions it says: You will need to make another package to add a My Documents folder to the local service user. This would be located in C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\My Documents folder. This does not really apply to Windows 7 as far as I can tell. @sjb did you manage to get it working in the end before I cantact support? Cheers

@dhicks you've hit the nail on the head, I should have mentioned we are keeping around 20 analogue cameras. Thanks for all your suggestions guys I think I know where we are going with this now. Found a supplier that will do a Dell R510 server Dual X5675 3.06 Six Core CPU, 32GB Ram,12 x 4TB SATA HDD, H700 Raid Controller with a 5Yrs NBD Warranty for about £3k so we are going to go with that. I'd much prefer to use our existing NAS Qnap TS1079 Pro but I guess the main problem will be network traffic swamping the NAS and making it not work well for our backups which it is currently being used for.

We are looking at implementing a new CCTV server with around 80-100 cameras and to keep footage for around 30 days. According to my calculations we would need around 30TB of storage after raid to do this at the frame rates and quality of the cameras. Speaking to the technical guys of the CCTV software (Luxriot) they have recommended local storage rather than NAS storage. We need about 30TB of storage after raid 5 so probably 36TB of raw storage. Can anyone recommend a DAS or custom servers with this much storage for a reasonable cost? We were looking at building something ourselves and sticking some of the Western Digital 6TB SATA purple drives in but was interested to see what boards of hard disk arrays people have used and are happy with. Server wise the specs don’t need to be great, we even have some old servers kicking around that would do the work but they lack the sata ports and raid 5 for the storage side. A dual core CPU something i5 or better, with 16GB of RAM would be sufficient. We could stick a 8 port sata raid controller into one of our old servers has anyone used one before that they could recommend? Cheers

@jimbopembo did you ever get a resolution to this issue please? We have just got over 50 of the VeryPC baytrail laptops with AC7260 WIFI cards and are having the exact same issue running W7 Enterprise 32 bit. Thanks

I remember foldr being expensive too. A cheaper alternative is Aircatch Business I.T. Systems Ltd Which is £295 for a primary and £595 for a secondary. I made my own version based on their idea using a virtual machine with outlook and a simple SMTP server and a couple of scripts and it works really well. Someone does work on the iPad they go to share email it to an address and within a minute it turns up on a shared network drive. Can't get any easier really.

Yea it seems really unfair not only to us as the buyer but also to @VeryPC who would have secured many more customers with this deal. OMG this is awful news and just before I start getting quotes for replacement desktop. How can Microsoft spring this on everyone its going to ramp up the cost of any desktop by £50+ pounds.

I thought as much @Meldrew the bad thing is I received a sales email as well from another unrelated company to the above blog stating these figures as to why there solution is better value to the traditional setup. I hoping other schools especially primaries and the likes without technical people will be able to work this out and don't fall for the "savings" in buying the new touchscreens

Doing some research on adding some AV into a new classroom and was wondering if a LCD touchscreen would be better than the traditional setup of a Smartboard and projector. Whilst doing my research I came across this blog on the AV Magazine website. They state that the biggest problem with the traditional setup is the power costs vs the two. Has anyone else seen a big difference in this when switching over? I am thinking something must be majarily wrong on their figures as they state power consumption for a average smartboard is 2 kW and projectors 2-400W. I measured our LED projectors they draw 130W and our computers that have a smartboard plugged in draw between 30-70W depending on computer model. Can anyone work out these figures? Is touch the new white in the school classroom? | AV Magazine Cheers

Thanks @woodham I was aware of this but we use Windows Server 2012 not 2012 r2 so we would have never come across this update/fix unless Dell pointed it out to us Cheers

Finally have a resolution for this if anyone is interested. Veeam were unfortunately little help and after over a month with a support call open blamed it on the Dell. I then logged a call with Dell who after a couple of days came up with this hotfix Memory leak occurs when you create or delete CSV snapshots by using a VSS hardware provider in Windows which is exactly our problem. I can't believe Veeam has never heard of this hotfix and also can't believe Microsoft isn't pushing it out via windows update for 2012 only via a hotfix. Just hoping this post will help someone as there is nothing on Google regarding this issue and it took me a long time to resolve. Cheers

@Novalee no I have thought about it in the past but think even if you could put the USB dongle inside the students would have such fun switching the keyboards and mice around it would be pointless.

@smithson83 thats the problem really the range seems to be effected by a number of factors I can't work out. The MK250's used to work in the entire classroom all of the time in all rooms where as the MK270 seem OK sometimes and then at other times only work a few meters away. I put it down to the micro dongle because lets face it a dongle that small can't exactly have a big aerial but who knows it could be other factors like frequency or interference.
