The ports on B would have to be tagged to pass on multi VLAN traffic.

Look at the wires on the plug. If they are the same sequence at both ends, then they are straight, if they have some wires switched around then it is a cross over.

I have used file locker before UNLOCKER 1.9.0 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB . You may find it is some kind of corruption though. Try running Scandisk. -
Students can install software! I can't find where this was set.

Look under restricted groups in the relevant GPOs. -
You use MDT and WAIK to make all your images and tasks to install apps. It is an easy way to inject drivers and windows updates etc. You then use these images with WDS. There is plenty of stuff in the Microsoft site and there are some good videos on youtube to get you started. You should be concentrating on the litetouch stuff unless you are using SCCM, where you can use zero touch.

For the sake of completeness it would only be fair to mention that not all devices will support this.

You will need a layer 3 switch to do the routing. Currently setting ours up.

Interesting to know as that is how I have always had it set up with the more restrictive permissions.

What do you do day to day more though? Configuring routers and switches etc or administer servers?

I have a 5406. The modules are expensive but They cram in a lot of ports. I didn't particularly need a 24 port GBIC module but at least I can say there is plenty room for expansion

Need Help with folder ownership in windows 7
ChrisH replied to mrb-solutions's topic in How do you do....it?
That tool should fix ownership as well. Rabbie is suggesting you take ownership and get permissions on the files and folders and then run the tool. It should then work as expected. -
You will need a router or a layer 3 capable switch.

3 Simultaneous Remote Connections To a Server
ChrisH replied to farquea's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
I thought I could. I will check tomorrow. My colleague always seems to have 2 sessions open! So I always use -console. This option is the same as logging on locally. -
3 Simultaneous Remote Connections To a Server
ChrisH replied to farquea's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
You should be able to have 2 connections normally eg mstsc -v:server and squeeze in a third using mstsc -console -v:server -

For the CCNA you either sit the full exam or you can do it in two parts: ICDN 1 and ICDN 2 if you pass one of these you get the CCENT qualification. When you pass the other you get the full CCNA. If you look up these you can see the requirements and how they will fit in with your course.

Merged School and Office networks. What now?
ChrisH replied to POWict's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
You could have another scope in DHCP for your office range with the appropriate settings but your router would need to pass the DHCP/BOOTP between the router interfaces. This is usually the IP help parameter in the vlan settings. -
How many pupils do you have to be getting these large sums of money? Our HT money is about 4-6k a year afaik for 750 pupils.
