  1. Toner is out of the question as it crumbles when folded as previously stated. I will look into the Pixma, cheers.
  2. One last bump on this. Has anyone got any other recommendations for an A3 Ink jet? We don't mind the more expensive variety as long as it is decent and network ready.
  3. They shouldn't be saying no to your request at all. It is common practice and I am about to do it with O2 for the second time in 6 months. Make sure you are cancelling your original contract.
  4. The machines are on the vlan of the port they are plugged into. It's the uplinks from the switches you have to worry about. If you want them on more than 1 VLAN then it gets more complicated.
  5. Are they coming to the meal as well?
  6. Not like you to think with your belly
  7. Works for me. *Fixed your typo
  8. Hmm I wanted a all in one solution really regarding the networking. Thanks for the information on the other stuff though I may get back to you on that.
  9. Is the paper getting stuck on the roller?
  10. Ours is fine so far.
  11. I am using chrome. I love the bookmark sync etc. So many times I have lost good guides etc as they have been on other machines etc. Now my home and work PC are the same. The only issue I have at the moment is the login box keeps popping up for the proxy (Network Guardian) three times since writing this out grrrr. Neither IE or FF do it on this machine.
  12. The paper feed has been the biggest pain as well as speed/reliability. We have a LJ 5550 in the main classroom which is good for their other stuff but they want ink jet for graphics, for when they are doing packaging as all the toner breaks up when folded etc. @Contink I would love to hear more about about that setup? Does the network version behave properly with a windows print server (ie not a pain like a HP 2600) and I would like more information on the CIS stuff as well. If you could post/pm the info I would be very grateful.
  13. Once again I am looking for a decent A3 Ink Jet Printer for the Technology Dept. The HP K8600 we got last year has not been well received. We have a 2800DTN in another room that is still running strong so I am looking for something that is going to be reliable. They need ink jet for the packaging they make as as toner just crumbles when creased/folded etc. Cheers Chris
  14. Time to book that eye test cheers. It doesn't help that you cant sort the column names by pressing the column title at the top. It was nestled in an odd order. Why my template didn't work is a mystery as contacts table looks the same.
  15. I am trying to run design a report that is the same as the data collection sheet but I want to run it on our applicants for year 2010 year 7s. This is so they can be checked by the prospective parents. I have no problem targeting the right group etc but I cannot get any multiple record sets to work. I have got as far as contacts and it will only return the first contact. If I try the same template on an "On Roll" group all the contacts show up fine. I have double checked the records to see that certain records have multiple contacts and they do. I have made sure only return 1 result etc is unticked. Any Ideas? Quirks I should know about ? Easier way to do this? tia Chris
  16. Sophos doesn't like one of the files in this package either. We had to put an exception in for it.
  17. Idd they should only be able to see their name and timetable etc.
  18. The site sends you in a loop if you are behind a proxy. d/l @ home
  19. When you say "grow" are you already doing assessment and SIMs?
  20. 2 x 19"s for me at work. Best for when I am coding as I usually have one screen for the coding and another for google for looking up all the syntax I definitely work faster on a lot of tasks with 2 monitors.
  21. You can use SRP to stop executables in the user areas as well. This is easy if you also map there redirected to a network drive as well so you can just stop h:\*.exe etc.
  22. I would be happy to be corrected but without some other 3rd party app, I don't think so. May some AV software could be used to block em? Just guessing.
  23. Most of the books are as good as each other, you (or I did at least) just have to keep reading them over and over until it sinks in
  24. You can't use R2 on the memory sticks. That's why I use SRPs for executables etc, but I cant do anything with MP3s on them. You can lock it down as tight as you want on any normal file areas with the filter screen. Setting up file screens is fairly easy. All you do is select a volume, select a category of files you want to block eg executables, Video/Music and apply it. You can edit the categories to remove/add restrictions on certain file types.
  25. Might be worth the extra licence. The R2 stuff is just an addition so can be added on top of you normal Server install. Software restriction policies wont work for stuff like MP23 etc. It has to be an executable type and even if you try and define it as one it still wont work. You want to use R2 file screens.
