I'm with you - consoles as they are now are a dying breed. They're all trying to become the all-in-one home entertainment system we all want, but all fall short somewhere. At the moment, the PC is the closest thing to this ideal but that doesn't mean it is the answer. I've just built an "HTPC" that runs XBMC and Steam in Big Picture mode. It has a TV tuner so and a DVD drive (BluRay will be a future upgrade when I sell the PS3). So in one box I have my games (my entire Steam library as it's Windows 7 based, plus emulators for many old consoles which yes, I do own!), my movies, my internet streaming, my music, my TV, my web browsing... it does everything that consoles want to do. However, it's still a PC, it's still based on Windows and I still have to deal with the occasional crash (BTW, modern consoles suffer crashes occasionally too!), but for now it's about as good as it gets IMO. I've said this many times over the past few weeks, but I'd love to see SteamBox succeed. I doubt it will, but hopefully it'll do well enough to push manufacturers to develop a new form of home computer, one with simple upgrades, auto configuration of games based on your hardware (as GeForce Experience already does) and a simple, living room friendly front end. TL;DR - the future has to be an easy to maintain, easily upgradeable machine similar to a PC but that acts more like a console.

Is there a possibility that both columns could be populated? If not, use the SUM formula (formula for viewing) then a formula for entry "Marks TO GRADE" formula; the SUM will be the value of the populated column, so marks to grade will convert to whichever grade is in the populated column. If both columns could be populated, you'll need an extra couple of steps...

Hadn't heard of it but what I can briefly see here looks cool - would you say it's along Gran Turismo lines (i.e. lots of simulation elements and upgrades) or classic Ridge Racer (i.e. just pick a car and race)

I don't think it's fair to say there's a lack of AAA titles just because Rockstar are being a PITA over GTAV. In the past 12 months we've had, BioShock Infinite, Arkham Origins, Tomb Raider, Diablo III, Assassin's Creed IV to name but a few. The difference with PC is thanks to platforms like Steam, AAA studios don't have such a monopoly on virtual shelf space so the indies get just a good a chance at sales. Also, for every AAA game released about a dozen indie titles follow! I still think the SteamBox will be a flop but hopefully it's a step in the right direction for a more open gaming platform. I think the console's days are numbered.

If you can link directly to the "rooms" in a browser, then any QR code generator will do; it just encodes whatever data you give it, whether that be an URL, a string of text, a number etc.

First thing I notice is you have a space in your opening DateRange tag - does removing that fix it? Also, it doesn't look like you ticked "Prompt at run time" on the date filter in SIMS report designer - that needs to be ticked if you want to change the filter at run time

The title pretty much says it all. I've found a few tutorials dotted around online but they all seem a bit vague and too specific to their example data sets. Background: our SEN department need to identify students out of borough, so the plan is to knock a SIMS report (Excel/VBA) together that will do a lookup on the OS Linked Data SPARQL API to find the borough for each post code. I know all the data is there because I can easily browse it via their website but as this needs to be run against over 300 post codes, I'd really like to pull this information via the aforementioned API

Ah ok. I just did the default install, nothing out of the ordinary. I suppose trying to extract just the driver to install could have helped, if it was some piece of pointless AMD software causing the issue that could have solved it. Still going strong, boot fix or service disable seems to have done the trick. The weekend will be the real test though when I put it through it's paces with some more demanding games. Going to try Tomb Raider first of all just to see what all this fuss over TressFX is about...

With the installer? The only thing I can think of is that the AMD drivers try to write to a non-existent area of memory because it fails to properly detect the amount of RAM in the system... don't know how likely that is but then again there are a lot of reports of people getting the card to work by removing a stick of RAM! As I say, if it makes it a few more days, I'll do some proper testing to find out what fixed it.

Don't really want to mess around with third party drivers. I'm of the opinion that if first party can't do it, I'll buy from a manufacturer that can! Yeah, 500w and it's Corsair not some cheap make, had this same PSU in 3 different recent builds with no issues. BTW: day 2 and no BSODs since trying the boot fix posted by @mac_shinobi I also disabled the "ATI External Events" service that day so can't be 100% certain what fixed it. If I make it through the weekend with no crash, I'll try to work out which one fixed the issue just out of interest
