  12. ok you need to install the kms key for the windows 7 machines. and try running this script to force the windows 7 machines to use your activation server: " "%SystemRoot%\system32\cscript.exe" "%SystemRoot%\system32\slmgr.vbs" -ipk putyourkeyhere cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -skms putipofactivationserver:1688 cscript c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ato " should also note that you need 25 requests before the activation server will start issuing licenses
  13. Nothings stopped working.... turning netbios off on the servers today. / static ip machines. havent done a wireshark yet. but seems a little better. i would like to just say we didnt notice a slow down in traffic..
  14. ye i guess so.... good luck
  15. We are running thin clients only as a test but hoping to role it out in 2 new labs once they buildings go up. current config. 2 esx vmware servers 1 control server hp thin clients. works very nicely
  16. no try these HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache\ExclusionErrorSuppressionList HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache\ExclusionErrorSuppressionList File specifications The file specifications that you add to the new ExclusionErrorSuppressionList keys are Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path strings. These path strings may incorporate a wildcard character (asterisk) to indicate “match any” at that particular position in the specification. Each file specification uses the following format: \\Server\Share\Folder\Filename.extension You can include environment variables, such as the variable %username%, in a specification. A variable is expanded at runtime to the equivalent text value. try this website: Files that you add to the Offline Files folder on a Windows XP-based computer are synchronized when another person uses the computer p.s. my brains beginning to hurt now lol
  17. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetCache Enabled=1 (dword) would enable offline files
  18. well your computer policy would over ride the local policy?
  19. i believe we are getting side tracked but OMG i cannot believe you said that! lol... did make me smile
  20. well surely if you are only assigning a specific user the use of offline files. Then that user will only syncronise. hence you dont need to set the administrative offline folder. ? just a thought...
  21. well no just add a wmi filter for a group
  22. we run hp thin clients that boot a custom linux (over lan). that loads vmware. works for us. to be honest i just prefer the backend of vmware.
  23. Just a thought would it be posible to do a wmi filter for a specific user? therefore enabling you to only sync offline files for one user.
  24. Not a fan of Axell.. Have you looked into VMware.
  25. i think the word you are looking for is OMG!!!!   The only thing i can of thats worse is a school giving out eepc's to everyone!
