  1. Thanks...I think :-) Trying to find the training plan I had for last year but can't find it :-( - Found it!!! :-) Training starts tonight!
  2. Right, so I've only gone and done it.....signed up for the Wilmslow half marathon again! 14 weeks of training ahead!
  3. We're actually doing the reverse advent calendar in our house (there's 5 of us, Me, the wife, 17 yo, 14 yo & 3 yo) so we've each written our names down on pieces of paper (5 each) and we draw one each day and when you are drawn it is your job to go and get something to put into the box to be donated to the food bank. Even the teenagers seem to have quite embraced it and are taking it quite seriously :-)
  4. Hmmmm ok, how about contact one of your suppliers and see if they will give you a demo unit to use for a couple of weeks? Alternatively, I'm sure there used to be a document (possibly produced by one of the teaching unions) that detailed a series of guidelines on how projectors should be used. I think (but could easily be wrong) that one of the points said something about how projectors should be visible with the main classroom lights on in order to reduce eye strain. Could be wrong on this, but I'll see if I can dig it out as it may support your cause.
  5. Could you buy 1 projector as a test? Invite the SLT to a demonstration of the two? Put them next to each other projecting onto a wall with the lights on and ask them what they think?
  6. We've experiencing the same problems with the 60/70 of these projectors that we have in school :-( Found similar though I'm afraid, no matter how much cleaning you do, the difference it makes is small. We've ended up replacing them (gradually not all at once) with the new Casio's. The difference between them is incredible. Teacher's had learned to live with the poor image produced by the aging projectors and when we replaced them they were over the moon.
  7. I'd get Impero installed on all PC's, not only for the ability to run them off/on but also to allow remote support.
  8. We can control all PC's in school using Impero. Is this to do with the PC's themselves, Impero Client or do you not install Impero client onto the Office PC's?
  9. Will Impero not do this for you?
  10. We seem to be getting a lot of this at the moment with our 6th Form students. Certainly Smoothwall is logging that they are attempting to access websites of questionable content for a couple of seconds (normally during registration) on their personal device. I think it's similar to what you've said though, that they are opening the sites at home and when they connect to the BYOD wireless, the tabs refresh generating the logs. Ultimately though, it's not for me to decide what happens to this and we follow the school safeguarding policies.
  11. I used to use a website called igluski they used to have some decent deals.
  12. We did something like this last year but did it on the 12 days of Christmas and did it as an accumulation of things to donate. So on Day 1 we put 1 item into a box, by day 12 we were putting 12 items into the box (varied in cost and some could be as simple as a couple of tins of potatoes at 15p each). Was nice going to the food bank to donate it :-)
  13. Just the one 5k for me so far this week again with "Poynton Runners". Trying to latch onto someone who I know runs quicker than me, so my times with the running group are coming down. Supposed to be running the Wilmslow Festive 10k a week on Sunday but I'm in no condition for it. I'd get round it, but it'd be very tough and i certainly wouldn't be breaking any records. Might sign up for the Manchester Winter 10k in February
  14. Got out last night with the "Poynton Runners" :-) A good 5k, latched onto someone running at a good pace and let them drag me round. Definitely the best run I've had (in terms of split times) since I got injured and was surprisinly mild, no rain and really quite warm.....long may it continue :-)
  15. There are some incredible games on that link :-) I loved pilotwings and striker (I think it was called that) as well :-)
  16. I'm currently going for thermal base layer (long sleeve top and leggings), shorts, running shirt and waterproof brightly coloured running jacket (with light). I've then got some running gloves and a hat, however, like you i'm struggling to get the balance quite right and the hat and gloves often come off fairly quickly as I warm up, i'd rather have them with me though than get too cold.
  17. Managed to get out again over the weekend, 7.2km of steady running. Hamstring still a bit sore, but so pleased to be back out and running again :-)
  18. Managed to get a couple of runs in now since my injury. 2 x 5kms both of around 30 minutes. Pleased to get through the two runs, not too sore after them either. Signed up to the Wilmslow Festive 10k now first sunday in December, so training starts now :-) Also joined our local running group "Poynton Runners", so hopefully that will add extra incentive to get out there running

Are they the new Ping iSeries irons? Very shiny :-)
  20. We've got 110 Surface 3's (100 of which were purchased on the EDU bundle). Staff, in general, seem to really like them as a teaching tool. We haven't given any to students. We've not had any issues with the Surface themselves *touches wood* however we are having a number of chargers dying on us :-(

The back 9 (on paper at least) is the easier of the two 9's. In terms of the pars I made, I parred 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 16, 17 and then had bogeys on 1, 3, 4, 14 so they were pretty well spread out so I don't think tiredness was a factor either. Just lack of concentration I guess. 11 & 12 though are the two hardest holes on the course for me, 11 is a huge 460 yard par 4 which I cannot reach in 2 (I actually played the hole ok so was disappointed to get nothing) my third shot let me down and then made a mess of the hole from there. 12 is long and very narrow, and I struggle to get the ball straight and pulling my tee shot into some trees less than a 100 yards from the tee didn't help either.

Played in the first of our "winter league" rounds....essentially 2 person team betterball, have to play in 6 out of 11 rounds minimum to post a qualifying score and if you play in more than 6 then your best 6 scores count. Played really well, as an individual I scored on 13 out of the 16 holes we scored on (2 blobs in this format is not really acceptable) and on those 13 holes I had 8 pars and 5 bogeys, so very pleased with that form. Putted well, drove the ball well and chipped well. After 9 holes, as a team, we'd scored 23 points and then 26 points after 10! But then blobs on 11 & 12 derailed us a bit and we ended up with 38 points. Still ok, but disappointing after we'd played the first 10 so well.
  23. Thanks @apearce just looking at it now. From initial testing it looks like it will do exactly what I want. Already got 2 flows in place one that emails the item creator on creation and when their item is modified
  24. Afternoon all, I'm doing some work on building a site in Sharepoint online and I've got a workflow that runs when an item is created in a list. Just as a test, I've set the workflow to simply send an email to me when an item is created. The workflow looks like it runs and completes as I would expect, but the email never sends (or certainly isn't received). If this was an on premise version of Sharepoint, I would expect to have to configure the email server for outgoing mail before it would work, but I cannot find where to put this information. I'm assuming that as our email is on Office 365 that there is no way of configuring this. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance Iain
  25. I saw your 20 miler on strava, great work :-) I'm back on the injured list, after 4 weeks off I played football last thursday and took it really really easy.....re-injured hamstring :-(
