Managed to get out twice so far this week! :-) I am loving this mild winter, I didn't expect to still be running this far into December. Tuesday - 8.1km, fairly slow but the longest run I've done in weeks (49 minutes for the distance including a warm up walk and warm down walk). Thursday - 9.2km, slightly faster pace (just over 55 minutes for the distance and that included a warm up walk and warm down walk), considered pushing it up to 10km, but as I was playing football later that evening as well to quit whilst I was ahead. So that's 17.3km so far this week :-) fingers crossed I should break my personal record for distance in a week (current record is around the 22km mark). Tempted to get a quick 5km in on Saturday (possibly a parkrun) and then a longer run on Sunday and possibly even push it over 30km for the week!

2 years ago we implemented a 6 year replacement program which seems to be working well for us. More or less all the rubbish we had (PC's which were 10 years old) has now gone and pretty much all PC's are now in warranty (with the exception of about 60). Hoping next year to replace either 80 or 110 PC's, depending on what budget we are allocated.

Last 6 films I've watched in the last couple of weeks are StarWars IV : A New Hope, StarWars V : The Empire Strikes Back, StarWars VI : Return of the Jedi, StarWars I : The Phantom Menace, StarWars II : Attack of the Clones, StarWars III : Revenge of the Sith :-) I'm fully ready for Episode VII now :-)

No me neither...I struggle to do 10k on a treadmill!

I would love to get down to one of these, for the exact reasons you've mentioned. Fingers crossed I'll get to one next year and get my PB under 27 minutes :-)

I've also had a lull in training (not great prep for a half marathon next year)...had a few issues with my left knee (weird clicking pains in the back)...had a few days off and done three runs of between 5-6km and been ok. A little bit cautious perhaps, but managing to get out. Hopefully start to build it back up again this week.

It certainly used to be (I've applied for two jobs there in the past), I know they had a new network manager earlier this year (I think) and I'm pretty sure it's been changed to Windows.

Just another thought, are you looking for Apple or Windows devices? Essa Academy is Apple, I believe. Trentham Academy in Stoke is also an Apple school who have gone down the one to one route.

ESSA Academy is one I was going to suggest as well. I believe Fallibroome School in Macclesfield have gone down the one to one route as well (although they may only be up to year 9 at this point, I don't think they've managed to do the whole school yet).

I'm hoping that by adding a cake recipe we'll sugar coat it even further :-)

Afternoon, We send out a "network news" to our staff to keep them up to date with developments and generally what's happening within our department. It has been suggested that we put in a baking section as all good magazines finish with something fun. "Iain's Cake Corner" has been put forward as a name (not by me)... But what recipes should we put in? "ByteSized Brownies" and for a slightly bigger brownie we could do "megabytes" are two that have been suggested. Can anyone else give me any IT Cake related puns we could use? Thanks Iain

Hi @jambocb i'd say the best thing to do is go and get yourself properly fitted for a pair at a specialist shop. Bad fitting shoes can cause you injuries, as everyone's running style is different. Sorry I can't be of much help, but getting fitted for shoes has really helped me due to the way I run Iain

Apologies for de-railing this thread a little bit. I'm looking for a piece of outerwear for when I'm running through the winter. I want something that will keep me nice and visible whilst also keeping me warm and dry. Can anyone recommend me anything? Been away on a cruise for a few days...but it hasn't stopped my running. Managed to get a couple of runs done in that time. 7.5km and 9km. Sadly only on a treadmill, but better than nothing :-)

Agreed entirely, however I do love the bit towards the end of Revenge of the Sith where Annakin becomes Darth Vader (as we know him) and he's raised up amidst the smoke and lights and speaks in James Earl Jone's voice for the first time :-)

I have actually just bought a projector from @VeryPC (finally managed to buy something from them after years of trying!). Service was spot on and as has been said @VeryPC_Colin_M is a top bloke :-)

I've been playing for a few years now and am a bit addicted (to playing and buying new stuff for it)....actually thinking about it I've been playing for 9 years now! Tend to play once a week (twice in the summer where I can). I've actually had a phonecall this morning from the golf club as they've been doing their end of year handicap reviews...and they've decided to knock me a shot off taking me down to 19.8! First time I've ever had my handicap under 20!! :-)
