Im A WD fan and a fellow hater of Maxtor, the DiamondMax 9 40 + 80s were horrific, had 60 go over a period of 3 years, i had a 160GB go after a week and a second 160 go after a few months, so MAxtor = nono for me. Exelstor i can also say are s**te, but ironically better than Maxtor as they performed a lil better in the reliability stakes. Hitachi - had a few laptop drives go in the past, nothing to care much about tho. Seagate - not a single complaint

Personally i dont bother prestaging, i jus build the RIS image, log in as admin and readd it to the domain, it uses the existing account but renames it. I then move it in AD and jobs a good'un No prestage and no need to give it a name on every build, it picks up the managed account and is faser than running round writing down GUIDs, hell you can even get RIS to log u on as admin first time round if you wanna be lazy lol

And for anyone in the dark about where to get the machines GUID, it is usually available in the BIOS and look sort of like this: dc6ab140-9f0a-11da-a746-0800200c9a66 (this one was randomly generated by a website for my example) If the machine does not have a GUID, you would add the MAC address to the end like so: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-0800200c9a66 with 0800200c9a66 being the mac address

disable "require ssl" on the exchange folder, problem is you then have to stop people accessing webmail without ssl somehow...

Have you got rpc over http or webmail using forms authentication running? if so, forget trying to get this to work without having a front end back end solution. drop me a pm if u want to give me a call as i have been through this recently (ie last week) and at my last place it was trialled too.

My father helped design that computer back in the day when he worked for apricot i have one in my bedroom lol Even more cool is i provided that website with teh mitsubishi insight CDs because im the last known person who still has a copy lol. I even did the basic website design for http://www.actapricot.org lol btw, dont blame me if the code on that website dont validate any more, the templates did when i gave them to him and hes added to them since

Hey Dos_Box, "ariel" is spelt "aerial" lol, sorry its been bugging me so i had to tell you

Ive had similar problems in the past, if you want to force it to output to both screens there should be a setting in the bios along the lines of "Display Device" and the option is by default "Auto" just change it to "both" and hopefully it should do so in windows.

Personal (home) Computer doing some very strange things...!!

Tell em an SLi PCIe machine is more robust and will last longer while your at it... -
lol thats a mad spec, my last place was running SQL and a shared file area on a Dual 3GHz Xeon, 3GB RAM, 1 36GB and 174GB SCSI360 drives with an LTO1 TBU, another identical box, (apart from only having 1 CPU and 1GB of RAM) was running 700 students homedrives and it flew along nicely... btw both of those boxes cost less than £8000 with a nice 24 port managed GBit switch aswell. RAID5 is useful, and i saved money on not having a RAID controllerand the extra drives, relying on tape backups instead, it all depends on your backup strategy and how much downtime you can afford.

lol ChrisH Out of interest, what would you want to use net send for Kyle?

What can i say, i like my toys lol

Dameware was the hacking tool of choice for hacking NTPass exploits (wasnt really an exploit, just ID 10 T users) and come in useful for other stuff after comprimising a box. Alot of virus programs pick up hexed versions of dameware as a hacktool because of this.

Does the access point providing the weak signal allow you to disallow clients based on their connection speed, i used to control a bunch of Cisco AP1200s that let you select which minimum speeds it would hold clients at, if they could not stay at that speed it would kick them off and refuse to auth them, meaning they would seach for another AP and jump on that one
